The Big Island of Hawaii is the largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago—almost as large as all the other islands combined—and bursting with life. Within 4,000 square miles of land, you’ll experience dense tropical rainforests, black-sand beaches, snow-capped peaks, remnants of ancient Hawaiian settlements, and the incredible Kilauea volcano.

Maui is renowned for its unimaginable beauty. Alpine-like forests cover the upcountry slopes of Mt. Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano. The famed “Road to Hana” hugs the coast, white sandy beaches line the shores, and magnificent sea cliffs hover over the blue Pacific. An aerial tour of Maui will quickly reveal why it’s continually been voted “The World’s Best Island.”

This was by far the best travel experience we’ve ever had. Cannot recommend highly enough. Incredible.
It was nice. The pilot was excellent. it was less than an hour. They didn’t go all the way around the island they missed the furthest southwest tip not sure why. Would love to do it again.
We have done the Big Island Spectacular with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters in October 2025. The flight was okay but not as spectacular as they advertise. Our biggest disappointment was that we were placed at the back seats and a selected couple was placed at the copilot seats and we paid same money but could not see much or photograph due to reflections, blockage and only a small side window available. It also appears that company only allows to publish good reviews as we were not asked for a review so we think only passengers who were placed on front seats could be reviewing the flights. Not recommended from our experience.
What an amazing experience! I lost track time it was that great. The pilot was incredible and would show us multiple vantage points. He also seemed to know everything about what we were looking at. He had a great soundtrack as well. I highly recommend!
When my guy and I were planning a trip to Hawaii, the helicopter tour was at the top of his list. We had both done this tour before with other people, but this was something we wanted to do together. And since we had both flown with Blue Hawaiian before, we knew that we wanted to fly with them again. We were able to easily book our flights online once we got to the island and looked at the weather for the week. We picked a day that was supposed to be clear and we ended up having a beautiful day. We paid extra for the front seats. I sat next to our pilot Marshall. who was fabulous. My guy sat to my right and had what I thought was the best view in the house. He was able to get lots of beautiful pictures without a lot of glare. Sitting in the middle made it a little bit more difficult for me because I had a lot of glare and a lot of my pictures had the console. I was able to cut a lot of it out, but his pictures were definitely better than mine. I also took a lot of movies and so we opted not to buy the recording that they film for you. On my last trip 15 years ago, I bought the recording and I don’t ever remember opening the CD box. The seating is comfortable, with 2 seats in the front and up to 4 in the back. Everyone wears headsets so you can hear the narration given by the pilot. You also have a mic so that you can ask questions and have a conversation back-and-forth that everyone can hear. That conversation is also part of the recording being done. The flight itself was just under an hour long. It took you all around the island. The views were stunning. My favorites were the waterfalls, also called the Jurassic Falls, and the Nepali Coast. In the helicopter, you get to see so many sides that you cannot see from the or a boat. Yes, it is pricey, but it was definitely worth it. You won’t be sorry spending the money making this memory.
It was a great trip! Alex is a wonderful pilot and a terrific narrator. We enjoyed a lot of views impossible to see on land. We really enjoyed it!
