The Big Island of Hawaii is the largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago—almost as large as all the other islands combined—and bursting with life. Within 4,000 square miles of land, you’ll experience dense tropical rainforests, black-sand beaches, snow-capped peaks, remnants of ancient Hawaiian settlements, and the incredible Kilauea volcano.

Maui is renowned for its unimaginable beauty. Alpine-like forests cover the upcountry slopes of Mt. Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano. The famed “Road to Hana” hugs the coast, white sandy beaches line the shores, and magnificent sea cliffs hover over the blue Pacific. An aerial tour of Maui will quickly reveal why it’s continually been voted “The World’s Best Island.”

The incomparable Na Pali Coast, Waimea Valley (the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”), and stunning Mount Waiʻaleʻale (the second wettest place on earth), are among Kauai’s incredible wonders that are so remote, they are only accessible by helicopter.

My wife and I took the big island tour that lasted about two hours as part of our 40th anniversary celebration. What can I say but it was ethereal. Clear skies, beautiful views of volcanoes, lava flows, sea cliffs, valleys, waterfalls that can’t be seen any other way, relaxing music that fit perfectly with the views…simply breathtaking! I considered this a bucket list trip but will do it again. Pilot Matt was friendly, helpful, informative answering questions and very skilled and professional. One tip - take the morning tour for a better chance of clear skies. Also - pay the extra for the front two seats for a bit better view. We did both these things and are glad we did. Also, buy the video package for years of memories.
An amazing experience with an absolute customer focused staff. Sarah, the pilot, was a joy to fky with over Hawaii.
The experience is simply spectacular. From the service and safety briefing they give you to the music they play while you're on the flight, it's an unparalleled experience. We recommend it 100%. They are extremely punctual, the pilot is very friendly, and they give instructions and explanations about the places we're flying over. We would definitely do it again.
We flew Blue Hawaiian on September 10, 2025 as a family of three to experience their Big Island Spectacular with landing. Sean was our pilot and he made our ride safe, memorable, and comfortable with his excellent flying skills, great soundtrack, and timely commentary! My wife and I sat up front and our daughter sat behind us and all three of us had great views as Sean made sure to position the craft to ensure perfect views for all passengers regardless of seat location! Sean went over options for our flight based on cloud cover and was very flexible in his flight path. We had great views of Hualalai, the northern valleys, and the coastline! Our landing at a gorgeous waterfall in the Kamuela region was magical and dream-like. We had enough time to dip in the water, explore the rain forest, and even forage for some fruits! The strawberry guavas were delicious. Sean's attention to us was impeccable and his commentary was well-informed and balanced. Thank you Sean for making this an unforgettable family memory! If you are lucky to get Sean as your pilot you are sure to have a ride to remember! Sean assured us that all of the pilots are as good as him! We will certainly book again with Blue H! Mahalo nui loa! Aloha oe!
We had booked the Discovery Tour for September 12 departing at 7:45am for three adults. We left Waikoloa at 4:30am in order to arrive at the Hilo airport prior to departure time. At 7:00am I received a call from Eric confirming our arrival time. Once we arrived at the Blue Hawaiian office, we watched the safety video and was informed that the pilot was on his way from the hanger. At 8:00am Eric receives a call from the pilot that he had a family emergency. We were given the option to wait till 10:30am in hopes that another pilot could take us. I asked Eric if we could do the tour from the Waikoloa base and he said yes but only for the amount of time we had already paid for therefore we would not get the tour they had purchase and no compensation was offered. This is very disappointing and poor customer service. I understand there may have been a family emergency but Blue Hawaiian should have another pilot on stand by or find a solution for the tour we missed out on.
My first ever helicopter tour! The pilot was very knowledgeable and the crew was very friendly! The scenic views speak for themselves!
