Very disappointed with our experience with Blue Hawaiian, especially given the premium price of the tour. We recently did the Discover Hilo tour, end of January 2026 out of the Hilo airport location. Our experience started out poorly during the reservation process, when I initially called the agent (I believe her name is Gina) was extremely rude while asking reasonable questions about the tour. She specifically mentioned seeing popular waterfalls in the Discover Hilo tour such as Akaka Falls and Rainbow Falls. The call ended abruptly when she scoffed and asked if there wasnt any reason I couldnt just book online and hung up on me. We called back and spoke with Greg, who was fantastic and reassuring. He clarified you do not see the major waterfalls Gina referenced but got to see some smaller/ unnamed falls as described on the website the tour "features volcanic landscape, tropical rainforest, lush valleys and cascading waterfalls". Based on the conversation with Greg we decided to proceed. Unfortunately, during the actual tour, we did not see any waterfalls. The pilot and ground staff were all pleasant and professional but the tour itself did not deliver what had been represented on their website or what was verbally described to us. Given the cost of this excursion we expected consistent information and clearer communication. (Not to mention our original booking was shifted around to another day to fill spots as their flights do not proceed without a minimum of 4 persons even though we were told our original booking day had enough people). Overall, the experience did not justify the price- we left feeling misled, disappointed and experienced the worst customer service from Gina I have ever encountered.

Would give them 6 stars if I could. We had an exceptional experience. Our pilot, Mike, was awesome! We saw a bunch of whale which was super cold. Mike was great at pointing them out since they were way smaller than we expected. He made sure to rotate which side was able to see them so nobody missed out. The playlist was fire. The staff that worked with us before and after the flight was amazing as well. The safety briefing was informative.

A safe, organized, and exciting way to see Hawai’i not accessible any other way. Chewy was our pilot…safe, calm, informative…exactly the kind of pilot you want.

Very professional and very educational. Loved the tour and would highly recommend! Ryan our pilot was amazing, friendly, and funny.
