Our group of 3 (2 adults and 1 senior 70+) totally enjoyed our flight with Christy, who was warm, fun, and knowledgeable. We got lucky with the weather condition and were able to see real red hot lava (including 3 lava flows coming down to the ocean). What a wonderful experience! The staff was nice. The helicopter (Airbus EC130 "Eco-Star") was new and super comfortable. Our video of the trip was of high quality and very fun to watch.

We booked this excursion called "Big Island Spectacular" through Royal Caribbean. It was quite expensive ($525 p/person), but we had read so many good reviews, and we must say, it was WELL worth it!!! Our pilot (with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters) was VERY confident, knowledgeable, and personable (he even addressed us by name throughout the flight). This experience was JUST like a documentary by National Geographic that you see on tv where the pilot flies in between the tree-lined narrow valleys, up close to the beautiful steep waterfalls, and along the ocean coast (where the lava empties into the water...a SPECTACULAR view!!). Being afraid of heights, I was a little nervous beforehand, but I have to say..this was the BEST excursion on our Hawaiian trip and we HIGHLY recommend it to EVERYONE that has the opportunity to go!! You will LOVE it and will talk about it for years to come!!!

Rowena, at check-in and during departure was awesome. Very helpful answering questions and making us feel valued and comfortable. Greg O or "Go" our pilot was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He explained things to calm nerves of first time flyers. Most importantly, he made me cry- he was right, the views of the valleys and waterfalls were too spectacular for words. I took the tour to see the volcanoes and craters, but the cliffs and valleys turned out to be my favorite part. The two hours were the best of our vacation. It's hard to spend that much money for just two hours- but believe me, those sites will forever be in your heart and mind.

What an amazing experience. Thank you Blue Hawaiian for allowing us to see this beautiful island from up in the sky. Loren our pilot was hysterical and made us laugh for the whole 45 minute trip. Very professional company - thank you so much the experience was amazing.

Unfortunately rainy and foggy when we went but Blue Hawaiian was exceptionally professional and the helicopter was comfortable and conservatively piloted. Clearly the best tour money we spent on the Big Island. We did a long distance flyover of the lava flow that could only be photographed with a long telephoto lens (that I didn't have), and on the return did a quick flyover of Rainbow Falls. Wonderful experience that we would definitely do again.

This was part of my bucket list trip & we are so pleased we picked this as the last thing before heading back to New Zealand. Greg was our pilot & he was amazing with his knowledge of the area. We were extremely lucky the Kilauea volcano was flowing into the sea. It has been doing it for about 3 weeks & before that it was back in 2014. Although the weather wasn't the best Greg didn't let that effect our experience. Basically it was fine out by the volcano so you got a really good view of the lava flowing into the sea. When we were almost back at the airport he could see that it was raining heavily so he took us to see a couple of waterfalls while the rain passed over. We can really recommend this company, they are very safety orientated & make sure their clients have the best experience possible.

If I could give this tour 10 stars, I would! Though we were apprehensive about the possibility of bad weather (and we'd never ridden in a helicopter before), we lucked out with a great day. It was easy to find the office at the Lihue Heliport, and everyone at Blue Hawaiian was very professional. After the obligatory safety video and instruction we were soon lifting off, with longtime Kauai resident Barrett as our very confident and inspiring pilot. Up, up, and away! The ultra-modern Eco-Star helicopter felt very safe as we sat strapped in, wearing headphones, and listened to a thoughtfully programmed selection of traditional Hawaiian music to accompany the sights during a smooth, quiet ride. Barrett showed us so many aspects of amazing Kauai that we could never see from the ground, especially Waimea Canyon and the breathtaking Na Pali coast, which later in the week we explored again from a catamaran. Every moment in the air was awe-inspiring and we will never forget it.

Fantastic pilot! Very fun experience!!! Very well organized. Loved their waiting area where they have a movie playing giving the visitor some history and background of the Hawaiian islands. We got to see the active volcano and the lava running into the ocean! Fabulous!!!

OUTSTANDING!! DO NOT MISS!! A birds eye view of all the amazing ecosystems on the Big Island. Expensive but worth the price.

Seeing the island from above was a real treat. The colors below were beautiful and the views flying between mountains and ocean won't soon be forgotten. Taking pictures was a bit of a challenge if you were seated in the middle of the row. The glare from the windows also interfered a bit with the results of our photos. We still enjoyed our 45 minute flight over the island and recommend it as a great way to see the sights.

We took the Big Island tour yesterday at 2:30 with Toshi in an A-Star helicopter. It was beautifully breathtaking. Toshi was very knowledgeable about Hawaii and its history as well as the geographic history. I never felt unsafe or scared of his flying abilities. As has been said before it is pricey, but I feel we splurged and we're happy in the end that we did. We had done luaus, snorkeling etc in the past and were looking for a different experience and Blue Hawaii did not disappoint. It should be done at the beginning of your trip so you can fully grasp all that the island has to offer, then like the hop on hop off bus, drill down on what you really want to see. Yes it was expensive, but one of the best sightseeing excursions I've ever taken!

This was the highlight of our whole trip! Our Pilot, Dale, was experienced and fun to talk to. He asked often if his dips and turns were too much for us so he could take it easier if it bothered us. (It was fine with us, keep circling that volcano Dale!) I HIGHLY recommend that you not let the cost keep you from seeing Hawaii in ways it can only be seen from above!

The tour and views were amazing (obviously), but the staff was even better. The 2 girls working the counter couldn't have been nicer. The one girl's name was Amber, I don't recall the other one's name. We had Barrett for our pilot and he was great. He knew his stuff and made sure everybody got good pics. He said he has done over 10,000 of the tours of Kauai we were on. (Over 14 years of flying)

Took to the sky with Kristie our pilot. We got to see lava and waterfalls, so amazing. Kristie made our tour unforgettable, her knowledge of the Big Island and local history is second to none. But best of all is her wicked sense of humour and her insistance that everyone has a great experience. If you are allocated to her chopper you are going to have the best ride ever. Sending you a big thanks from Australia.
