Our flight was beyond our imagination. Our pilot, Dean, did an outstanding job of providing a wealth of information about everything we were seeing, and balancing it with humor (Go Redneck!:) This trip is truly the best way to see all of the beauty Kauai has to offer and has definitely been the highlight of our trip thus far. The staff at the Blue Hawaiian office were really wonderful to work with, and Leilani in particular was very helpful in giving us information about the island to plan the rest of our stay. Highest recommendations and thanks for a great experience:)
My 90 year old mother and I recently had one of the most exciting experiences of our lives. The staff did everything to make this a memorable time for mum. We flew over towering waterfalls and into amazing canyons and finally beside the Napali Coastine. The commentary was excellent and at the end we had the option of purchasing a copy of a DVD of our actual flight. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Hawaiian holidays.
Barrett was a great pilot and tour guide! Had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend this tour for everyone.
We took the doors on tour. All I can say is Wow! Kauai is absolutely gorgeous! Our pilot, Vincent, made sure both sides of the helicopter got to see the same views which was appreciated. I had never been in a helicopter before and was amazed how smooth the ride was. And the windows are so large you can see so much. Not a bad seat. I highly recommend this company and this fantastic way to see Kauai!
Pilot Brandyn took us on a 50 minute flight around the island and was very knowledgable about the island, its history and the movies shot on Kauai. The helicopter took 7 passengers (3 next to the pilot and 4 in the back), but even though I sat in the backseat in the middle I could see everything well. If you can, book through Expedia (they had an office in the lobby of our hotel) so you get a free t-shirt and a nice DVD of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters.
A must do! Taking the ride was awesome. The views of the island were unbelievable. The waterfalls were the best. A must do if you visit this island. The service was good - very good pilot. Gave lots of info.
We decided on a helicopter ride over a plane ride, and i am very glad we did. My wife and i had never flown on a copter before, but it was relatively smooth. The interior is not roomy, but for an hour flight, it's comfortable. I am 6'2" some I am used to being cramped on any flight. Our pilot was Brandon. He was knowledgeable and provided good descriptions. The copter can get into canyons and hover to give you a much better view of the falls and topography. The seats are assigned by the computer according to weight so don't bother asking for a particular seat. I had a middle seat and I was not deprived of any views. My wife had the window.
My wife and I took the tour over Kauai this morning with Captain Marty, he was fantastic and the experience was the highlight of our trip so far. Every aspect of the trip was top notch, well organized and friendly. The helicopters look like new and are very comfortable with everything we needed. Our first tour was cancelled due to rain but they were very helpful in finding a new date and time the next day, the way they handled this spoke volumes about their customer service. Captain Marty was knowledge and engaging during the trip, he was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend using them for your trip!
We saw so many waterfalls on Kauai. The tour was amazing and our pilot was so knowledgeable. He pointed out where different movies had been filmed and played the Jurassic Park music as we flew up to that waterfall. It was amazing! He even told us that Hunger Games was being filmed on the island. Take the helicopter ride!
We took the Kauai Blue Hawaiian Helicopters tour as an excursion with Norwegian's Pride of America cruise. The views, the accompanying music in the headset, and the non-intrusive descriptions by the pilot make this experience everyone should do once when on Kauai. We flew close to large waterfalls on sheer cliffs, over the bright colors of Waimea Canyon, and some breathtaking beaches. Worth every penny.
I flew F-4s and F16s for 20 years in the Air Natonal Guard. I have also been a commercial airline pilot for 27 years. That was the GREATEST flight that I have EVER been on. Barrett did an absolutely fantastic job. It was nice to have a local as a pilot. It was an extra special touch. Also I'd like to add that Blue Hawaii does an excellent job of hiring staff. Our van driver Leolani was fantastic as well. You guys run a first class operation and we can't wait to come back. Thank you so very much!
Don't miss this. This was the best thing we did during our week and the BEST way to see Kauai. Very professional and always felt totally safe. Well worth the money.
There is no better way to see this incredibly beautiful, lush island! They take you all the way around the coasts of the entire island and to specific inland parts as well. You are able to get views that would otherwise take days to accumulate. The vantage point for so many of the sights cannot be matched on the ground. You will also get some history lessons from the guide throughout the tour. If you are an avid photographer, get a polarized lens to cut out any reflections. And wear a dark shirt, that will help to minimize reflections too. And if you are the least bit affected by motion sickness, BE PREPARED!! One our Kauai highlights for sure!!
Nathan did a great job piloting the Helicopter - and providing a great overview of the sights --the Helicopter is quite roomy, seats 5 passengers, with excellent views....the flight itself was very smooth so don't worry about riding in a Helicopter......They also provide Bose head phones to reduce the noise and the landscape of the Kauai island and Napali coastline was quite amazing -- I would highly recommend the tour.....
we went on Blue Hawaiian in Maui a couple of years before Kauai. Blue Hawaiian is a great helicopter company (and there are many available). The price is a little higher than what you could find at the little "tourist" booths all over but flying with them before we knew their reputation. I enjoyed being able to see the Jurassic Park waterfall (playing the music of the scene made it even more special too). We saw the entire island but kind of stinks in some areas because of the "regular" rain/ fog on the mountain. The pilot knew everything and were able to answer any questions that were asked. Good trip overall.
