We were told to include a helicopter ride on our first visit to Kauai. My husband and I are so glad we budgeted for this memorable adventure. The hour-long ride circled the entire island, and included close up views of Kauai's numerous waterfalls. Our pilot Scotty even maneuvered us into the crater from which the island was built. Occasional narration explained points of interest, and calm music filled our headphones. The Na'pali views were breathtaking. The ride was smooth all the way around. I can't recommend it enough.

This is the best way to experience Hawaii... period. Nothing comes close to lifting off the ground in a helicopter and getting an arial tour of Hawaii's incredible volcanoes and landscapes. I was nervous about riding in a helicopter, but was quickly put at ease, as the Helicopters are reasonably large, comfortable, and seat 6 people (including the Pilot). Our pilot, Greg, was amazing. I had no doubts about his professionalism and felt as if my safety was put into very good hands. You could tell that Safety is the #1 priority at Blue Hawaiian. As for the tour itself, it was stunning. We were able to see things from the air that wouldn't have been possible or even feasible by car. We flew into low valleys and got stunning views of waterfalls and volcanoes. Greg seemed very knowledgeable about the area and was funny, friendly, and very welcoming. The helicopter tour was quite pricey for 3 people, but it is definitely a great experience. This was a highlight during my week-long trip to Hawaii. It is a bit of a hike to get to, as it's about a 40 minute drive from Kona Airport, but again, it is well worth it. The tour lasts about 2 hours, with a break in between. It departs from a remote place on the western side of the Big Island, and flies around 3/4 of the entire big island, making a rest stop in Hilo, on the eastern side. On the way, you'll see waterfalls, volcanoes, and mountains like you'd never be able to see otherwise. I would truly recommend this to anyone visiting Hawaii. 5 Stars. Easy.

Mark did a fantastic job flying us around and giving a very informative tour. Despite the rain and cloud cover (low ceiling), Mark was able to show us Kuaui. Will definitely recommend Blue Hawaiian.
