My wife and I flew with Kristy today and had a amazing time. Could not have had a better pilot / guide than her. If you get the chance make sure you fly with Kristy.

Have flown with Blue Hawaiian before and they don’t disappoint. We fly out of this location after the weather cancelled our planned flight out of Hilo. We saw the northern part of the island and we were surprised how beautiful that area really is. Our pilot was friendly and answered questions, even flew around a bit when someone asked about animals in the area to see if he could show us the wild pigs.

We debated about whether or not to purchase this excursion. I’m apprehensive about helicopters and heard it was dangerous with the changing winds around Hawaii. After careful research we decided to take the plunge and book Blue Hawaiian. With two kids - teen girl and 8 year-old boy I decided to go. It did not disappoint. It was a fabulous ride and a terrific way to fully experience the majestic views of the island and all its glory and colors. We took the one hour tour which was perfect. The only comment was that half way into it my son got motion sickness. We were prepared - thanks to Blue Hawaiian- but next time I’ll have the Sea Band BEFORE we fly. My son never has had motion sickness before so this was a new experience. The Sea Bands and Dramamine were sold in the gift store so that was a life saver! We had the shuttle service to and from our hotel. They arrived right on time. The tour itself was incredible- we even saw two Humpback whales! The pilot Kristi took care to lessen the bumpiness and extra views so both sides could see. She was an expert pilot and we felt safe. She was welcoming and funny. She made the experience great! We had a chance to see a waterfall, beautiful beaches, hills and valleys, Pearl Harbor and so much more. I think this just made our trip to Hawaii that much more special because we could see how it is connected and works on the island. The ground crew gave us a safety video and strapped us in - they covered everything. Just be sure to wear dark (black tops) to not have the sun reflect off the window. You could purchase a video of your tour and a photo. Bring extra cash! And they sell cute stuffed aviator bears and shirts etc. I’d say it’s well worth it to pay for a quality pilot! I loved it and I’m thrilled we had a chance to go! I’d do it again!

Your narration was also so informative giving us a local's view. Thanks again for being a wonderful guide and pilot.

The tour was fantastic. we got a couple really good shots of the volcano and lava bubbling over. There was also some lava in the fields. Pilot was very knowledgeable which made the tour that much more interesting.
