Fabulous 50 minutes for with the kids. I thought that it would be scary with the doors of but it was amazing (and safe!). The pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable, but also very good with the kids (11 and 13). Highly recommended: a must if you can.

C'était notre premier tour d'hélicopter et nous avons eu la chance d'avoir un upgrade pour une heure! Nous avons reçu un excellent accueil par une charmante dame qui nous a fourni les consignes de sécurité. Le tour permet de survoler des lieux magnifiques sur l'île, océan, montagne et terre rouge... Excellente expérience même si assez impressionnant. Nous avion choisi "doors off" pour aller au bout de l'expérience et... il fait froid! Couvrez-vous! A ne pas rater!

Hands down the best adventure we experienced while visiting the island! My fiancé and I spent 10 days driving, hiking, snorkeling and surfing all around the island and the doors off helicopter tour was our favorite thing we got to do! It was our first time riding in a helicopter and to experience the island from the ground and then to see it from above it was amazing. Pilot Jim kept us laughing the whole time and we learned so much about the island too. Defiantly recommend this tour for anyone that steps foot on Oahu! And be sure to ask for Pilot Jim, you won't regret it! 👍🏻

Another typical well organised tour operation that I would recommend. Pickup from hotel in company shuttle was clean and efficient. Greeted on arrival and before long we were briefed and airborne. A never ending vista of amazing views and a flight over pearl harbour was a bonus.

My partner and I where in Honolulu for 14 days and went on this Doors Off excursion run by Makani Kai Helicopters. The company picked us up from our Hotel and took us to the airport where the company is based. During the the ride to the airport there was a video safety briefing so we were fully prepared for the experience. Do Not take anything that can not be placed in a pocket as you will have to place it in a locker before the flight. Any camera must have some form of strap be it wrist or neck. Glasses are fine but I would avoid a hat. The helicopter is a replica of the one used in the TV series "Magnum PI" & like it says there are no doors. It has the capacity to hold four passengers + the pilot and the trip lasts around 50 minutes. You will be strapped in with the front passengers wearing a 4 point belt and the rear two wearing inertia type seat belts. The pilots are very knowledgeable about the island and will answer any questions you have. The flight takes off from the airport and travels around the coast taking in the famous Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, North Shore and Pearl Harbour. You will be able to take some stunning photo's unhindered by doors or plexiglass. It is windy and can get cold on the North Side of the island so wear something suitable. If you are looking for a trip round the island by air this is the way to do it. Honestly the best excursion on the island.

This was a highlight of my Hawaii holiday. We did the doors off helicopter which was absolutely amazing! Lucky enough to be upgraded to first class seating due to weight restrictions. Perfect few from front and both sides of the helicopter. Great commentary from the pilot with lots of interesting facts about the island. Was great to see everything from the air and then scope out where else we wanted to visit. I cannot recommend this enough! One of my friends who is petrified of heights did it after seeing how much I loved it and was completely fine. Don't let a fear make you miss such an amazing tour.

I've always wanted to do a helicopter tour, but was put off by the price for the time spent in the air. What a pleasure it was to ride with Doug. Definitely the price was right for our tour. This tour offers hotel pickup with the price of the ride. This is wonderful because who wants to drive in Honolulu traffic. When we arrived, our pilot, Doug, was ready for take off. He told us what to expect on take off - winds and movement. Loved hearing all about the island. My pictures are breath taking. I even got a picture with a rainbow. He even turned the copter around so the people on the other side could take pictures. I thought it was very professional of him to come into the building after the ride to talk and answer any questions. Very nice guy. Very much the highlight of our vacation!!

Pilot Jim was so amazing he was so funny and informative. The views were unreal!! I loved how fast and efficient the boarding and deboarding was, the entire team was helpful and made me feel safe

I didn't regret spending a single penny on our amazing doors off helicopter tour. Thank you Nathan for making a 50 min flight pleasant and unforgettable. It was amazing to see this island from the air, especially the Sacred Falls and the Jurassic World filming location. Seeing Pearl Harbor from the sky was also very memorable. Everybody was so kind and pleasant to deal with: the driver who picked us up from Waikiki, Bryce, also the front desk staff, Jordan, and finally our pilot, Nathan. I know this is what you do every day but it's not an every day experience for most of us so thank you. I liked Maui better than Oahu in general, but this helicopter ride over Oahu really ended our trip on a high note.

I was scared to death of flying in helicopters but my husband wanted to go so badly that I decided I needed to try. We booked a tour over Oahu with Makani Kia Helicopters and were fortunate enough to have had Jim as our pilot. I/we had so much fun and I was so t ease with him that I/we had a great time! I am a former pilot, an experienced traveler and a "more bang for your buck" kind of guy. By these standards the "Secrets of Oahu" flight was a great success. Everyone at Makani Kas super friendly and full of the "Aloha" spirit. Th flight was great, my pilot "Jim" was an excellent pilot and a great tour narrator. The helo was clean and from all appearances reliable and well maintained.

We went on the 50 minute Doors Off helicopter tour around Oahu. I always do one thing while on holiday to test my phobias and this was it. I have a fear of heights and to go to such heights in a helicopter with no doors was the ultimate adventure for me. I am proud to say I did it and found the whole experience spectacular. The views around Oahu are amazing, expecially from a helicopter. To see Pearl Harbour from the air gave it a whole different perspective than from ground level. This is a must whether you do the doors off tour or another helicopter tour. Our pilot made me feel very relaxed. If you want to feel like Magnum P I for just under an hour and pretend the pilot is T C then the open doors ride is for you.

The doors off flight with Pilot Jim was a great experience. However, always ask for the front seat, especially if you are small in statue and seated behind the pilot.

We did the "doors off tour" of the island of Oahu. It lasted 45minutes, was expensive, but fabulous! Our pilot, Jeff, was a Hawaiian born ex-military helicopter pilot. He took us through all the highlights of the island with good commentary. It is extremely exciting and great for photography. Hotel pick up & drop off and safety video and instructions included. My family recommend this as a highlight.
