Wife was afraid of heights but she loved this. Pilot and staff were comforting and friendly. Highly recommended! Don't miss this!
Great trip, very professional and the pilot was very knowledgeable, the scenery is absolutely amazing
Incredible tour/journey it was tremendous! don't forget to get your tapes of the tour:) Great pilot... very comfortable.... cool.... Beautiful....
What an exciting experience to see the gorgeous Hawaii from the skies!! A must do for visitors who's experiencing Hawaii for the 1st time!!! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
What An Experience To Fly Over Ohau ! I Highly Recommend This After You Have Explored The Island A Bit. The Landmarks are More Clear and Makes it more Fun. Trip is Expensive But Worth It. Make Sure You get A Pilot That Talks Allot About What You Are Seeing. Our Pilot Spencer Was Not the Best Tour Guide I have Had in Previous Trips. He Was A Little Irritated When I asked Questions About What we Were Flying Over. But All In All A Fun Flight.
Good tour, if you get a middle seat, you can’t see much. It was a very hot ride today and that made it uncomfortable for all of us. We asked if the could cool it down and the pillow said he couldn’t do anything about it. There are four seat in the back, so only the two door seats have good views, the center seats can’t see much. The pilot was good and we felt safe and the ride was to be 65 minutes and it was only 55. I wouldn’t do it again.
At first I was terrified about this excursion but, it was something my husband and children really wanted to do. My fears were quickly put at ease when I saw the professionalism and attention to safety! I felt comfortable knowing our pilot was trained in the military! Our ride was smooth and informational. We saw gorgeous views all over the island! So grateful that I faced my fears, it was so worth it!
La chambre était de bonne dimension, et avec vue sur le centre-ville. Bien entretenue (merci au personnel d'entretien, qui a été formidable!).
It was very nice. I could have used more information from the pilot. Other than that it was a delight.
This was a great experience. Was nervous a bit but got over it as soon as the helicopter left the ground. Our pilot was knowledgeable of the island. If you decide to get the usb drive of the tour, make sure the audio is on the drive. Each file was approximately 10 minutes, 5 minutes in on each file we lost sound. Disappointed as this was an extra we paid for the memory and only have part of the voice. The tour itself though was good.
I love helicopter tours! Had a great Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour in Maui. This was a bit disappointing. The pilot (can't remember his name) knew a lot about the island but shared info in little snippets instead of normal sentences that really told the story about what we were seeing. Also, it seemed like we quickly passed by many of the main attractions I hoped to see from the air. By the time I saw the area in question (such as the Dole plantation), we were nearly past it. I got a better look from the photos I was snapping than in real time. Maybe the experience would have been different with a different pilot, but this particular trip was not what I would have expected from Blue Hawaiian.
Overall, we really enjoyed our tour. The pilot was knowledgeable and gave us a lot of interesting facts about the island. The day we went it was a little choppy, but the pilot was nice to tell us when we may expect to get smoother air. We were in the helicopter with a family of 4, two being small children. One of the kids found it very entertaining to constantly talk in the microphone to his dad, so it kind of took away from the tour for us. The pilot interacted with the kid a lot, which took away from our experience as we were not able to really ask questions or interact with the pilot. They offer a complimentary shuttle service from your hotel to the airport (where they have their helicopters), which was really nice.
First let me say that it is almost impossible to screw up a helicopter tour over any of the Hawaiian Islands. The scenery is some of the most spectacular you will ever see and the pictures you will take will get hundreds of likes when you post them on Instagram. Mine did. So my comments today about our Blue Hawaiian Tour will be about some of the little things that may help you decide which of all the tour providers on Oahu you should choose. On the plus side, the Blue Hawaiian aircraft we flew in was one of the nicest commercial helicopters I've been on. Everything was in great shape and gives you confidence about doing something that others might initially be hesitant to do. Also, the 60 minute flight we chose departed from Ko-Olina Marina, near where we were staying on the west side. So it was very convenient for us, and Blue Hawaiian is the only provider operating from the Ko-Olina resort. Next, we made reservations online about a week ahead and so the check in experience was easy and handled very professionally by the staff who worked at the desk in the Marina office. On the flip side, our pilot was older and seemed to be less than enthusiastic about his job. His narration was monotone and hard to hear and he seemed to over emphasize the military bases, the WW2 history of Oahu and the ancient formation of the island. He also seemed to get annoyed when someone would ask a question or make a request. For example, we were flying above the north shore and headed toward some of my favorite surf spots- Pipeline, Sunset, Turtle Bay, which I wanted to photograph from the air- when he abruptly turned inward. When I asked him why we werent going to continue toward those beaches he gave us a BS answer about it being too cloudy to see anything. After that we flew over Sacred Falls, which is supposed to be one of the highlights of most all of the Oahu flights, and something I really wanted to see. But our pilot didn't do much to make sure that everyone in the back seat got a good view of the Falls and were able to take a picture from their seat. When someone asked him to turn the - copter so they could see Sacred Falls he blew them off saying we had to move along. My last example is similar. We were flying near Hawaii Kai and noticed a couple whales spouting off below us. The pilot flew closer and hovered over the whales for a minute, but the poor folks in the back seat were not able to see the whales long enough to get a good picture and the pilot hurried on. Still, we enjoyed our tour, and will probably fly with Blue Hawaiian again, but because of the price we paid, our expectations of service, by the pilot especially, were higher. On this helicopter, the folks who are lucky enough to get the front seats will have a much better experience.
We have visited this area before but seeing it from the sky is totally great. The water falls, Pearl Harbor and the island is stupendous. Great flight.
