First let me say that it is almost impossible to screw up a helicopter tour over any of the Hawaiian Islands. The scenery is some of the most spectacular you will ever see and the pictures you will take will get hundreds of likes when you post them on Instagram. Mine did. So my comments today about our Blue Hawaiian Tour will be about some of the little things that may help you decide which of all the tour providers on Oahu you should choose. On the plus side, the Blue Hawaiian aircraft we flew in was one of the nicest commercial helicopters I've been on. Everything was in great shape and gives you confidence about doing something that others might initially be hesitant to do. Also, the 60 minute flight we chose departed from Ko-Olina Marina, near where we were staying on the west side. So it was very convenient for us, and Blue Hawaiian is the only provider operating from the Ko-Olina resort. Next, we made reservations online about a week ahead and so the check in experience was easy and handled very professionally by the staff who worked at the desk in the Marina office. On the flip side, our pilot was older and seemed to be less than enthusiastic about his job. His narration was monotone and hard to hear and he seemed to over emphasize the military bases, the WW2 history of Oahu and the ancient formation of the island. He also seemed to get annoyed when someone would ask a question or make a request. For example, we were flying above the north shore and headed toward some of my favorite surf spots- Pipeline, Sunset, Turtle Bay, which I wanted to photograph from the air- when he abruptly turned inward. When I asked him why we werent going to continue toward those beaches he gave us a BS answer about it being too cloudy to see anything. After that we flew over Sacred Falls, which is supposed to be one of the highlights of most all of the Oahu flights, and something I really wanted to see. But our pilot didn't do much to make sure that everyone in the back seat got a good view of the Falls and were able to take a picture from their seat. When someone asked him to turn the - copter so they could see Sacred Falls he blew them off saying we had to move along. My last example is similar. We were flying near Hawaii Kai and noticed a couple whales spouting off below us. The pilot flew closer and hovered over the whales for a minute, but the poor folks in the back seat were not able to see the whales long enough to get a good picture and the pilot hurried on. Still, we enjoyed our tour, and will probably fly with Blue Hawaiian again, but because of the price we paid, our expectations of service, by the pilot especially, were higher. On this helicopter, the folks who are lucky enough to get the front seats will have a much better experience.

We have visited this area before but seeing it from the sky is totally great. The water falls, Pearl Harbor and the island is stupendous. Great flight.

If you want a breath of fresh air and the Lord's Creation from the sky take ride on Blue Hawaii Helicopter Tour. Extremely professional helicopter pilots and alot of fun. You able to see Pearl Harbor and beautiful mountains in Hawaii. It gives you a different outlook of life to be able to the combination of the ocean, sky and country. I highly recommend buying the video of your flight. Blue Hawaii does an excellent job of combining the video of you in the helicopter, the view of Hawaii and music. You can't go wrong with Blue Hawaii Helicopter Tour. 😉

Magnum Helicopter Tours is a five star company in my book. I have been on several helicopter tours, but Magnum was by far the best. Door to door service with friendly, courteous drivers. Staff is excellent and very safety oriented. The equipment is immaculately kept and in top operational order. Tour of O'ahu was amazing, although be advised if you request a "doors off" tour, it is very windy but a must for photography. Our pilot Evan was fantastic! Excellent pilot and very knowledgeable and funny guy. I would recommend this tour company to anyone that loves to fly and wants to see the scenery from the air. P.S. Being in T.C.'s ride (Magnum PI) was amazing. Aloha!

We booked with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters after a recommendation from our hotel. They picked us up from our Waikiki based hotel and drove to the Airport. After a short safety brief, we were off into the sky. Our day was partially overcast, and the pilot did state we could not go closer to certain attractions, but we all enjoyed the ride and totally recommend.

This is definitely a must! The flight was smooth and beautiful. The pilot, Gardner, was excellent. I was concerned about how the helicopter would cause motion sickness but no problem

What a great experience! Blue Hawaiin Helicopters picked us up from our hotel in Waikiki on time. The day prior, they called, confirmed and gave very detailed instructions. We had a safety briefing and then the fun began. Paul was our pilot. Paul is a retired U.S. Coast Guard pilot and it showed! He was great and gave an awesome tour. The helicopter was clean, well equiped and the sight lines were great. Paul made sure each side of the helicopter got to see each site. It was breath taking. My wife had doubts about riding in a helicopter, but was soon won over.We purchased the picture in front of the helicopter (a must). I don't want to forget this experience. Can't wait to visit another Hawaiin Island and will definetely be taking another tour with Blue Hawaiin Helicopters.

The pilot was very knowledgeable and pointed out many areas of interest. The helicopter was clean and spacious. I would definitely use them again in the future plans to Hawaiian Islands. The price was fair for what received, but it should have included the video taken by the helicopter camera’s , instead of trying to have us buy it for $62.00 for a thumb drive. Which we did not opted out to purchase. Overall definitely was a great experience. The shuttle drivers to and from the hotel to the airport where the helicopter took off from were very nice.

On a prior trip to Oahu I took this same tour and loved it. I wanted to do it again and glad I did. This tour was a little different then before. We didn't fly near Turtle Bay Resort and the Navy does not allow a fly over the USS Arizona. The closest you can get to the Arizona is the Ford Island bridge. Other than that it was awesome. the funny thing about this experience was out of our group of 6 my husband and I had the exact same seats and pilot as last time. The views from the helicopter are remarkable.

This is a must do.We covered the whole island.Even saw Pearl Harbour and the SS Arizona.Major movie sites like Jurrasic Park,Magnum PI.Breathtaking.

WOW - if you’ve ever wanted to do a helicopter tour ensure you book this one. We did the 60min tour and were lucky enough to get seats 2&3 which were front row but amazing views from all of the chopper.

Wow, what a day. Easy booking process and got picked up by friendly courteous driver very close to our airb&b residence. On arrival you are greeted by well trained and friendly staff who run you through the obligatory safety presentation and answer all your questions, then the real experience starts. The helicopters are modern and smooth and you feel safe,our pilot was aware of turning the helicopter at points of interest so all passengers had the opportunity to take great pictures as well as being well informed on all the infrastructure and history of the area. highly recommend this experience

We went on the tour a few days ago. Loren was our pilot. He was amazing and took special care of making sure everyone could see each thing. The company is focused on safety and made me feel safe and secure the entire time. I do recommend splurging and securing the front seats. Well worth the extra money as everything in front of you is a window (as compared to a seat back).

Absolutely amazing! 10/10 recommend. Christopher our pilot made sure we had a truly memorable flight. He pointed out all of the incredible sights as we took one of the most breathtaking trips around the island. This was truly a highlight of our vacation!
