Greg was an excellent pilot and tour guide. We have done previous helicopter tours in Hawaii as well as the Grand Canyon, and thought he was the best. The ride was smooth, and his knowledge of the island and the volcanoes was top notch. We were lucky to have a bit of bubbling lava to look at as well, but even if we hadn't it would have been a great ride.
Highly recommend to anyone visiting.
The pilot, Brad, is FIVE star and answered all our questions expertly. The flight over-all was excellent with good views of the areas as stated in the itinerary. We were disturbed to find that our seat numbers were changed between briefing and being on the tarmac. We had requested the first set of numbers, so this was disappointing and are not sure how/why this happened. Although the instructions for clothing worn on the flight indicate that everyone should wear dark clothing, that did not account for the fact that the bright yellow safety vests, as well as people's hands, bare arms and legs [from shorts] gave an unavoidable reflection in the windows interferring with clear photography. We realise that with windows, there is bound to be some reflection, but people need to be very aware of this and considerate of other passengers. This does not take away from the fact that this was a spectacular flight which allowed us to see things that we otherwise could not have done from a land-based holiday on the island.
