Wow - tremendous service, surprising value, and breathtaking views.

This is a pricey attraction but it ended up being one of the best value ones we did! It is absolutely worth it and we were lucky to see Kauai and the Na Pali Coast with our pilot, Brad. We started with a diligent pre-flight safety briefing but it was quite quick and easy to follow. Then, we boarded and our pilot, Brad, took time to get to know everyone on the flight as he took off. We were in good hands as Brad has a lot of flying experience - both with BH and also in the military. The narration was never over the top but it was tremendously useful in learning about the island. The helicopter, itself, is a great machine with huge windows and great views from every seat. I was in the back middle and my wife was right at the window - we both had excellent views and mine was supposed to be the worst on the helicopter. Brad was the highlight, though. He engaged all of us on the helicopter and made two and three passes over and beside all of the beautiful sights around us. 5 Stars For Sure.

What a view!

Great experience. If ever to take a helicopter tour as a tourist trap this is the one place to do it. Meaning Kauai. Especially because a significant part of the island is inaccessible on foot or by car. Plus what a beautiful island. Blue Hawaii was top notch and professional. Can't say it is the best or not but have a feeling it is top fo the line, since I did not try any of the other myriad of helicopter our companies.

This was awesome! Worth the money for sure. Our guide was great. They bumped us back a half an hour, but gave us a free video of the ride!

Must do!

This was our first trip to Kauai and a friend had recommended that we take a helicopter ride. It was worth every penny! I highly suggest that everyone take a helicopter ride around the island toward the beginning of your trip to get a good feel for the island. We chose Blue Hawaiian. Our pilot was Mark, very knowledgeable and great aloha personality. They have camera's filming your ride and offer a copy for sale afterwards. The quality is good, not professional. Considering they are on a helicopter, it will take on the elements, such as rain, or fog. It will be a wonderful keepsake that we've shared with family and friends. They get to see what we saw there. It was a magical adventure that will never be forgotten.

From the shore to the volcano lava craters to whales then into and over the valleys -- this was awesome beyond belief. Pilot was very professional, gave a full commentary including background music. Accessable. Do not miss this one -- and be certain to buy the HD video of your flight --- it is priceless!

Of course, the weather is a big factor in whether you have a good trip or not & our day was beautiful - sunny & clear - the snows on top of Mauna Kea were visible for the entire flight - we were treated to a fly over both of the active volcanoes - Kilauea & Pu'u'O'o - the pilot obliged both sides of the helicopter by flying figure of eights over the volcanoes & we flew on both sides of the current lava flow which has set light to trees & is baring down on the village of Pahoa - given all of the current viewing restrictions & relative inactivity of the volcanoes, a helicopter is about the only chance you will get of seeing any of the Orange stuff! - & the ariel view really put the current lava flow into perspective. We must have been airborne for well over an hour, which passed way too quickly - my daughter asked if we could go again! .. Yes $230 x 3 is a fair bit for a family but the trip was truly memorable ... Oh yes, & we got to fly past Air Force 1 as well

Spectacular View of Kauai

First time helicopter tour so I wasn't sure what to expect. Experience started out a little frustrating as Blue Hawaiian had us booked at the wrong time, even though e-mail confirmation was correct. After rearranging our schedule we were able to rebook. Really glad we were able to make this work as the flight and views were awesome. Our pilot, Miguel, was very knowledgeable and provided a fantastic island tour with phenomenal photo opportunities! For a fee of $42.00 I was able to purchase a recording of the flight on either Blue-Ray or HD USB; very nicely done, was glad I bought the video. Overall experience was awesome and highly recommend Blue Hawaiian, but advise you call and confirm flight details ahead of time

There are not words to describe the beauty of this tour. The views are absolutely breath taking. Our pilot was very knowledgable. The company gives you a safety briefing. You can buy the video of your tour. Our audio was missing from our video so the company gave us the video free.

Enjoyed the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter trip

We had a great flight with our pilot, Mark, on the trip on June 28. We went on the 3: 00 pm flight and the weather was perfect. Clear visibility the whole flight. The flight with pilot Mark was awesome. We did this on our first full day of vacation and got an overview of the island before we did other activities.

Definite bucket-list experience!

We were visiting Kaua'i for the first time and decided to have our first experience on a helicopter. After looking at a number of companies, we went with Blue Hawaiian. A great choice to go, and a great choice to go Blue. We were a little trepiditious about getting in a chopper, but are so glad we did. The explanations beforehand were superb, as was the whole boarding crew. We were seated in a very modern "Eco" helicopter that was equipped with Bose headphones and microphones for communicating. Our pilot, Geoffrey was experienced, had a great sense of humor, and as a native of Kaua'i (and a military vet) knew his way around and had obvious and reassuring expertise. The trip itself was unspeakably magnificent. The scenery, the opportunity to fly into valleys, the perspective in this beautiful and largely unsettled island was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Except we hope it will be more than once--we would gladly do it again. If you are reluctant to put yourself in a helicopter, don't be as long as you go with Blue. This was a tremendous experience and so worth it.

Thrilling Experience!

Yes, the price was high, but my children said it was completely worth it. We booked this excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines, and it was worth every cent (according to them!). They thoroughly enjoyed the music and the guide, and they got to see parts of the island that people never get to see or enjoy. Definitely a must-do!

We took an early morning tour and enjoyed every minute of it! With Hawaiian music playing in the headset, you take in the majestic views that the Island has to offer. Our guide Barrett was super knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Don't miss this! Be sure to wear dark clothing and ladies, nothing blingy, as it wil reflect in EVERYONE'S photos! You can purchase a DVD of your flight or wear a GoPro as my sister and I did!

Flight over Paradise

We made our reservations through our Concierge several days in advance. I initially thought the price was quite high ($987.00) for a family, but it was a once in a "lifetime adventure." The cost is steep but I understand with fuel, maintenance, salaries, and a competent pilot, it's money well spent. On the day of our flight, we we're picked up by their shuttle driver at our resort. The driver picked up other passengers along the way. Once at the "hanger" We had to watch a "mandatory FAA safety video" in the event of a crash landing into the water. After that we each received a life vest and how to properly inflate it. We were then escorted out to the tarmac where we saw our helicopter as well as a returning one touching down. We were directed to the helicopter one by one, seated, and belted in by the crew. After everyone was in, the doors were closed and our adventure began. Our pilot, was a retired Army Blackhawk Pilot so I knew we were going to be ok! We flew over Waikiki and I took some video and pictures of our place and along Waikiki Beach! It was a nice clear day to fly! You could see how clear the water was and everyone enjoying the beach. We continued onto "Diamond Head" and honestly, the view from above was better than from the ground! There was some sightings of whales but we didn't see any during our flight! We did see numerous sea turtles, which looked like brown dots from 1,000 feet up. The pilot called them "bugs" because that's what they looked like. We flew in between mountains to view "Sacred Falls" which we were told used to be accessible by foot until someone was killed. You could see the water cascading down. We flew over the house they filmed the series "Magnum PI" for those of you who remember that! We flew over another house that Elvis Presley once occupied. We flew over where they filmed "Jurassic Park 4, Godzilla, 51st Dates, Hunger Games Two, and Wind Talkers. Our journey continued onto "North Shore" where you could see surfers riding the big waves! We tried driving here a day prior but the traffic was terrible. Flying over was not only exilerating but we got front row seats! From where we were, the waves didn't look big at all. We flew over the "Dole Plantation" and got a good look at their famous maze. It's amazing how objects appear from the air. We took the same route the "Japanese pilots took when they bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941." Seeing the "U.S.S ARIZONA MEMORIAL" by air was a memorable one! You could still see remnants of the submerged warship. I took some great video's as well as pictures and the only "negative" thing I had about the whole trip was that I didn't get to sit up front! All passenger's are weighed and assigned a number. I guess your weight dictates where in the craft your seated for proper weight distribution. Overall we had a great time in the air and saw things from another "perspective!" This aerial trip is a must for anyone coming here. Our next flight will be on the island of Hawaii to view the lava flow.
