Highly recommended flight over Oahu
オアフ - ホノルル

The best possible way to see Oahu. Comfortable informative viewing. Highly recommended. After taking a bus tour around Oahu and Pearl Harbour, we decided it would be fun to take a Blue Hawaiian Helicopter flight to see the lay of the land from a different perspective. On 13 August 2014 we took the helicopter flight and it was amazing to see key points of interest from the air. I was able to take lots of photos and was just blown away with the beautiful island. Don't miss out on this amazing experience.

Nice trip

Loved the view of the waterfalls in the inner canyons of Kauai. Preferred the Holo Holo boat ride along Na Pali coast because it moved slower and was closer and could see sea life. $27 DVD of our trip was blurry, so view it before you buy it.

A "must do" in Kauai

This was the first excursion we enjoyed when visiting Kauai. It was a great way to kick off our vacation. Barrett was a great guide. The views were amazing, and we were able to see sights that would be inaccessible otherwise. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Kauai.

Awesome experience--do it!!!

We had 5 family members in our copter, including one who was somewhat apprehensive about heights. With the pilot, we only had one vacant seat, so we essentially had the copter to ourselves. This is a very professional organization, and the tour was everything I had hoped it would be, and more. Hats off to our pilot Shay, from our neck of the woods in Memphis and Sevierville, TN (we are from Knoxville). He couldn't have been more friendly (even learned all of our names), and was incredibly informative about the island. The views were incredible, the flight was extremely smooth, and this was one of the best vacation experiences I have ever had.

Great helicopter tour

We had a great one hour tour of the island on Blue Hawaiian. The operation seems very professional and the type of helicopters they fly are very comfortable. I was actually surprised at how smooth and the ride was. Our pilot Brodi did a great job piloting the helicopter and describing everything we were seeing. The flights are a bit on the expensive side but it really is well worth it since you would not be able to see all the sites via any other way and it is really quite breathtaking. You can get a video of you the actual trip you took as well.

I can't say enough about this experience. Ian, our pilot, was phenomenal and the views he gave us made our trip. A once in a lifetime experience. It is the best way to see the island.

I'll Never Forget This!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This was a life changing experience. Although it was very expensive, I would do it all over again. Our pilot was Sean, and he was able to give us just enough insight without talking through the entire flight. The first valley that we flew over actually made me cry, it was so beautiful. When we flew over the ocean, we were able to see a breaching humpback whale. Sean circled around and around the whale so that we could take photos and film it, and so the whale was able to show off for us! The music in the headphones was perfect, including my favorite IZ tune. My only disappointment was that the DVD of our trip that I purchased broke after only viewing it once. Get the USB drive instead!

Yes, it's worth the price.

My wife and I had considered a helicopter tour during our stay on the Big Island, but after factoring in the significant cost—over $1,000 combined for the two hour “Big Island Spectacular”—we decided against it. That is until two work colleagues (we tacked a vacation onto the end of a business trip) who separately took tours with Blue Hawaiian raved about their experiences. Both told us that, while expensive, they felt it was absolutely worth it. Knowing that neither of them were spendthrifts, we changed our minds and decided to go for it. Our verdict: They were absolutely right—if you can afford it, go for a helicopter tour because there’s no better way to see the stunning natural beauty and unique ecological diversity of the Big Island than via helicopter. For example, I visited the Halemaʻumaʻu Crater on foot at night, when the active lava lake at the heart of the crater bathes the nearby area in an eerie orange glow, and that was very cool. But during our helicopter tour we flew over the crater and viewed the molten lava lake itself, which is impossible to see from the ground, and that just kind of blew my mind. The real stunner of the tour, though, was the Waipio Valley, which we explored for much of the second hour of our flight. Most of the Valley is inaccessible by foot and, during our stay, the entire Valley was off limits to foot traffic due to an outbreak of the mosquito-borne dengue fever, so the only way to really see it is from the air. I won’t even try to describe the experience because words and photos simply don’t do it justice—all I can say is that it’s something I’ll never forget. So, definitely go for a helicopter tour. As to whether Blue Hawaiian is the outfit you should fly with, I can’t compare it to other operators on the Island, but I will say that our Blue Hawaiian experience was superior to the helicopter tours I’ve tried on the mainland. For starters, we were on an Airbus Eco-Star T2 that looked and felt newer than any other helicopter I’ve flown in. We were also provided with noise-canceling headphones and microphones so that we could ask questions to our pilot, who was friendly and had a remarkable knowledge of the Island’s history, geography and ecology. My wife is not a huge fan of flying and was nervous heading into our tour, but that all faded away within a few minutes of getting airborne. All-in-all, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Blue Hawaiian to anyone considering a helicopter tour. Some FAQs that a lot of our friends have posed after we told them about our trip... Q. What if I’m afraid of heights? A. The guy next to me on our flight (you sit four-abreast in the second row) mentioned that he’s deathly afraid of heights, and was surprised to find that he had no problem at all during the tour. I think it’s pretty much like flying in a plane—because you’re in a seat and belted in, you don’t feel that sense of vertigo that you might get when standing on a ladder. Q. What if I get air sick? A. You might want to take something before your flight. Our flight was smoother than any previous helicopter tour I’ve ridden on (which may be a benefit of Blue Hawaiian’s newer helicopters), but we did hit some patches of rough air and the pilot did occasionally take tightly banked turns to give the passengers on both sides a chance to see key sights. I don’t typically get air sick, but I found myself feeling a little queasy after the first of these tight turns. It may have just been a matter of getting acclimated, though, as I was fine through the second half of our tour. Q. What’s the best time to go? A. We took the first flight of the morning (around 7am), which turned out to be fantastic as we caught the sun rising over Mauna Kea during our initial approach towards the mountain. But one of my colleagues took a mid-day flight and the other caught the last tour of the day (I think it’s around 4pm), and they both raved about their experiences, so I don’t think there’s a bad time. The only variable that really seems to matter is the weather, but the tours won’t fly if the weather isn’t suitable (in which case you won’t be charged), so I’d say it’s just a matter of picking a time that works for your schedule.

If you don't do anything else, take this helicopter tour. It was visually thrilling. Our pilot was highly skilled and knowledgeable of the sites on the island. My soul soared and I felt a sense of freedom while flying over the beaches and through the beautiful canyons. When the flight ended, I wanted to go up again. I'm so grateful to have had this experience.

We came to kauia 15 years ago on our honeymoon and returned to celebrate with the family. Blue Hawaiian was on top of our to do list as it was one of the tours we took on our honeymoon. And our family group of 9 was not disappointed!! Everything from registering to launch off was professionally taken care of. We loved the views! Highly suggest booking early as you get the discount. We were able to bring back the "tour" via usb which is the recording of our tour! Our pilot Barrett was very informative and entertaining as well!! Don't miss out!!

Incredible views and a very safe and professional tour company

The helicopter tour over Kauai was wonderful. Our tour guide Trevor did a fantastic job giving us an overview of the island along with some history and interesting facts. The views were incredible and it was a great way to see the island. We went out the first day of our stay and went back and visited many of the areas we had flown over. The company was very professional and we felt very safe. I would highly recommend. My only disappointment was that many of my photos taken from the front seat had some glare and reflection on them. My son in the backseat also had a camera and he got great photos without any glare so all is good!
