Well worth going with Blue Hawaiian helicopters, Pilot/tour guide very knowledgeable and made friends with all onboard. Views and sights were second to none, couldn't have asked for a better helicopter trip and with the pilot answering all questions posed to him made this a very memorable honeymoon for us.

What a beautiful experience we saw snow, lava and incredible waterfalls. Blue Hawaiian has an amazing staff, fabulous aircraft and a commitment to safety. Highly recommend- book for the start of your trip in case you have to reschedule due to weather- easy to reschedule for future dates. Best way to familiarize yourself with the island as well!

We took the afternoon tour with Pilot Lauren - hopefully spelled that right. He was a great pilot that took us around the island and provided lots of information on what we were looking at. The tour takes off and goes in front of the beaches then around Diamond head and over the area from Jurassic Park movies, we saw a waterfall, and some of the most amazing views of the island. We did this tour the first day of our week long stay to get a feel for the island. Perfect!!!

I wish that I could give 100 stars for my rating. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters goes the extra mile to accommodate most mobility impaired customers. They picked me up in their lift van. Another lift at the helicopter was used to lift me to the helicopter seat and their skilled staff positioned me with safety and utmost care. Scott, the pilot, gave us the flight of a lifetime. The views were unbelievable, his knowledge of the area was excellent, and his concern that all passengers had great views was outstanding. The entire team at Blue Hawaiian are to be commended for their care and service.

We recently took the 45 minute lava tour out of Hilo with Blue Hawaiian. Wesley, our pilot was amazing, and his provided soundtrack just made the flight more fun. We did see lava but not the massive amounts seen in some pictures. I am regretting not taking the longer more inclusive island tour as I think they go further afield and see more impressive lava and waterfalls. All in all though, a good choice and a lot of fun. Some tips: computer assigns your seating based on weight distribution. There are great views from every seat. Don't wear white or light colors as it reflects back on the windows. They do provide darker color shirts to slip on to prevent this. If you are mobility challenged you might want to double check about access. We had to walk a ways to the helo pad, but I'm guessing they have a cart to help those that don't walk well. Flight crew and safety briefing were both excellent. The only drawback is you have to park in the pay lot at the airport with no validation. Several other companies there are in the commuter terminal where there is free parking.

We flew to Hilo from Maui for a weekend specifically for the Circle of Fire tour. I had read somewhere not to just fly over for a day trip in case the weather was poor. As it happened, our first day was perfect. Pilot Wes took us for a trip of a lifetime. What an awesome way to see the volcano, lava flow etc. The kids really enjoyed it too! Incidentally day two of our weekend was rainy and overcast. What a relief to have had beautiful weather for our flight!

We booked this tour for photo ops of the volcanic activity and were not disappointed. The pilot made multiple passes over the cauldron from all angles and all around the flows to the sea for multiple photo ops. HIs abilities and expertise were very much appreciated. The views were absolutely awesome and other photos here document very nicely what we saw. The staff was very helpful in that I needed to take my portable oxygen concentrator with me and they checked my paperwork and their lists to make sure my model was allowed. I agree with the 'totally accessible and awesome!!!' review. I am also mobility impaired and every effort was made to help me to, in and out of the helicopter. Fantastic crew!!

Thank you for a great tour! Toshi was our pilot, and super informative about the areas that we were seeing! We originally booked the 2 hour tour; we thought we might as well go for the big time given this was the first time we had been on a helicopter and it was Hawaii! Unfortunately though, it had to be cancelled due to the weather/visibility in the Hilo and Volcanos Park area. We were offered a one hour trip, refund or chance to rebook so that was helpful - we had so much planned though we just went for the one hour, and definitely didn't disappoint! It was over the valleys and waterfalls and went along the Northern shoreline of the Big Island. When people say it is like Jurassic Park, it's totally spot on. I would for sure recommend trying to book the 2 hour trip to go over the volcanos area if possible - we did drive to the park, but simply didn't have enough time to hike through the whole thing and down to the shoreline where you have the chance to see lava entering the sea. This is one thing that would have been awesome by air! Thanks again Blue Hawaii Helicopter Tours - we would definitely recommend and well worth the money spent!

Decided to take a flight. Went to several people advertising it but in the end booked with affordable tours recommended by coconut waikiki hotel. Others wanted $240 each plus tax we got it for $220 including tax. Picked up from hotel and dropped off at hotel. The helicopter tour lasts about 50/55 minutes and was the highlight of our holiday. It's was absolutely brilliant. The pilot was very informative and told you loads about the island you would never usually find out. If you are going to do anything in hawaii it has to be a helicopter flight. And what they play when you lift off is brilliant and made out flight. But if you want to know what it is take the tour...

Husband and I went on a helicopter trip of the island near the end of our trip to Kauai. The views were stunning and the pilot provided a nice narrative of the island with lots of historical information. I would recommend doing this early in your trip so that you could have a overall perspective of the island and identify places you may want to take a closer look at. The only issue was the seating. I ended up sitting on the far L side (behind the pilot) and had to look through three other people in my room to get a look at the island. The pilots fly around the island in a clockwise fashion. We had asked if their was premium seating available (e.g. front seat, etc) prior to the flight, but were told it is entirely based on weight. I was told that there are other companies on the island that will cater for seat location. The helicopter was very clean and I felt safe during the entire trip. I would use them again!!

We had never done this before- but we splurged on a 50 minute helicopter tour of Kauai and it was worth it. Your seat assignment depends on your weight, but it's still a great view if you don't get a window seat. Our pilot Beth gave an informative narrative of the history and the sights we were experiencing. Not being used to helicopters, I got a little queasy toward the end and we had beautiful weather. Not the pilots fault, just a function of flying. If you are susceptible to motion sickness- you might want to wait and eat after the flight. This is a great way to get a wonderful overview of Kauai in under an hour. Having seen the area from the air gave us additional perspective when we later drove to some of the sights.

Beautiful views!! Very professional!! Everything was clearly explained from the videos to where everyone needed to be to board and off board the helicopter. Pilot was very friendly and gave great descriptions along the way. Felt very safe and a beautiful way to see the island! Even bought the video at the end.

I think I'm still hyperventilating about how great an experience this was. Taking a helicopter ride was something I had on my bucket list and what better place to do it but on the island of Hawaii! We flew over most of the island and saw some amazing and spectacular views. For me there were two parts of the trip that were the highlights. First of all flying over the spot where lava is flowing into the ocean. What a privilege to see new land being created. The second big highlight was landing by an 800 foot waterfall and being allowed time to get out and take pictures. Truly an amazing sight to behold. Our flight also included flying through a valley that we were told by Carl the pilot can only be flown through 20% of the time due to weather conditions. How lucky were we? I think that most people would consider the cost of this flight expensive, but I have to say for me personally it was worth the money, and I'm glad I did it. For anyone considering it I would highly recommend.

This was AWESOME! Well worth the money and this company was top notch. Everything was great from our first interaction. Location nice and clean, staff was very nice and friendly. This company also records your trip so when you return you can purchase. The even better part is that the pilot (Janette, I think) personalizes the tour just for those on the tour. She used our names frequently and pointed out things that would be great to do with our 14 month old. We did the 45 minute tour and LOVED every minute. We looked at cheaper options but honestly I think we would have been disappointed and after this experience my expectations are pretty high. So glad we went with this company.
