Our third trip to Kaua'i and our third experience flying over the island - this trip we brought our two daughters, two sons-in-law, and six young grandchildren to Kauai - late July 2013. We filled up two Blue Hawaiian helicopters! When we saw Na Pali aglow in the afternoon sunshine I said, "This is why we brought our family to Kauai!" Truly fantastic! Do it!
Extremely comfortable helicopter - the eco-star which is step up from the A-Star. Unfortunately if you're seated in the rear 4 seats your ability to take great pictures is limited. The good news is they tape everything and you can buy the memory stick or blue ray disc for $25. It includes your dialogue with the pilot and other passengers. Chris the pilot does the tour as well. Might be better to have a short taped intro rather than some of the stuff he talks about. Air conditioned and extremely smooth despite the wind.
This is the best helicopter service on the island and one of the best views in the world IMO. Have been over Grand Canyon, Mauii, Alaska and for some reason I think the views are the most awesome in Kauii. Highly recommend this company. They helped us "find the place" via telephone...as we got lost! Great organization, well worth the money!!!!
We had Brad S. as a pilot. He was courteous, knowledgeable and funny. We flew in early afternoon in fairly calm air. This is the only way to see many of the waterfalls in the interior of the island. The Napalii (sp?) coast was incredible. Buying the DVD lets us relive the experience! the hour flight literally "flew" by - sorry I couldn't resist that.
This company is well run and organised, recommend to anyone - if you want a memorable moment in Hawaii this tour would be it.Our pilot John was a bucket of information and fun. He put us at ease straight away and showed us views that we were and continue to be awed about. This is the best Helicopter tour company in Hawaii in our minds and know that they are safety first with their guests.During the time we were on board we saw scenery that we will remember all our life. Now back at home we know this was the highlight of our trip.
We took a helicopter tour of Kauai on our honeymoon last week and it was awesome. Only about 25% of Kauai can be viewed by driving. Barrett our pilot was very nice and informative. Our trip was a little hazy due to the weather but we still saw everything we wanted to see. We saw many waterfalls including the one from Jurassic Park, NaPali Coast, Waimea Canyon, etc. Wish it was a little longer but overall a great tour. The company is very professional.
Recently took a helicopter tour of Kauai, Blue Hawaiian was the company. Very easy to deal with. The pilot was excellent, and made us feel very comfortable.
The helicopter ride with Blue Hawaiian was one the best activities we did in our trip to Hawaii. It is expensive, but this island can't be fully enjoyed without this beautiful view from above. Blue Hawaiian has a great helicopter, with large interior and windows. We were fortunate to sit in the front, but our friends that sat on the back also loved the ride. Their location is very nice and service was pretty good. Our pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable. He also added a local taste to the tour, commenting based on his experience being born and raised in the island. The only thing to worry about is the weather - it is very unpredictable and could impact the views, but a little planning (and luck) will make the experience unforgettable.
This was a spur of the moment decision, but we did it and I am so glad we did. We saw so much more of the island than you could ever try to see by car. More waterfalls and breath taking landscapes, tight tucks and drops in to the most best picturesque views of the whole island. The coast line was spectacular and the only other way to see it was by boat, but the seas were rough so this is by far the best way. Large quiet helicopters with really good pilots. Splurge and do it! You won't regret it.
Don't think about this. Don't hesitate. Don't listen to people. It will be an experience of a lifetime. We were assigned seats in the front with the pilot which means that the floor is glass...This is a fantastic way to see the island. It was our first time in a helicopter which made the excursion all the more sensational / scary. Just do it - swoosh ... um, that was the wind blowing through the helicopter blades as you go out over the ocean.
Don't leave Kauai without taking a helicopter ride over the most beautiful island of all. So much to see that can only be seen from. The air. Money very well spent!
First time in a helicopter! You are truly missing out viewing Kauai if you don't take a helicopter ride. Blue Hawaiian did an excellent and professional job. It was fun, but not at the expense of safety. Our pilot did an effective job at narrating what we were seeing and was a pro. If you do this, I would encourage you to take the flight early in your stay in order to get the literal "big picture" of the island.
Doesn't describe it. This tour is amazing. Our pilot captain brad was impressive. The narration and knowledge are beyond anything we expected. My husband is a pilot and is still talking about how Brad talked, flew and talks to the tower. We did this on our first day as suggested. It is a great way to get to know the island,,,,, Don't hesitate at all...... Book it and go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my first helicopter ride and Blue Hawaiian raised my expectations bar all the way to the top for any trip that follows. State of the art helicopters, knowledgeable pilots and awesome views. Great way to see the island. Rainbows in Waimea Canyon were breathtaking. Would recommend spending the extra dollars for this fabulous experience.
This was so worth the extra cost, because it was a private helicopter ride and you were guaranteed the great views. The pilot was excellent and professional. This was a 55 minutes ride but felt longer. We lucked out with the weather, too. One of the highlights was going into the crater and going along the Na Pali coast.
