We wanted to see the volcano but being in Waikoloa makes that a challenge. We took the 2 hour Big Island Experience and it was a wonderful trip! The helicopters were comfortable the pilots were knowledgeable and kept the group engaged. Flying over the volcano and then to the waterfalls it was a magical day. Highly recommend you give it a try!

Mahalo to Julie and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters of Honolulu. By far the best experience in Hawaii, or anywhere for that matter. I had the 9 am tour and had the front seat next to our pilot Julie. She was very good at narrating our trip and showing us sights that you cannot see by land or sea. This is by far the best way to see the island. We did see a whale briefly, but I really didn't expect to see any because it was so late in the season. Having the CD of my flight, available for purchase, was an added bonus. I can re-live my flight for years to come. I will make sure my kids get to experience this flight on our next visit.

I am in the aviation business and was extremely impressed with the overall operation including the people and the equipment. Very professional group from start to finish. The helicopter was immaculate and our pilot Jonathan was a great tour guide. There were 6 passengers and all had a great view. Everyone has headsets and shared microphones to ask the pilot any questions.The ride was very smooth and relatively quiet. We toured the entire island and got some awesome photographs including Diamondhead, the beaches, the rain forest, the falls, the pineapple plantations, and the most impressive for me: pearl harbor from the air. They have cameras outside of the helicopter that video your tour as well as a camera that videos the occupants. If you go to Oahu, this is a MUST tour!!

I was a little nervous being in a helicopter but it's and experience you have to do at least once, especially in Hawaii. The views are amazing!

This was by far the best thing we did on the Big Island. Our PIlot Scott was an excellent pilot as well as tour guide. We flew over two volcanoes and many beautiful waterfalls. Not to mention over many sights around the Big Island.This particular tour was a two hour tour. Scott made us feel safe and welcome. He was funny yet very professional. The people who run BlueHawaiian also were very helpful. They show a brief safety video and outfit you withyour personal life vest. There was one stop on the tour to refuel and use restrooms if needed. Since this was my first helicopter ride I was a little apprehensive but again Scott set us at ease. This is the only way to see the Big Island!

There is no doubt this is a special experience. Absolutely amazing views of the island interior and Napali coast. We were a family of four and everyone thought it was a highlight of our time on the island. Staff were all very professional and friendly and pilot Marty was very knowledgable and informative.

Sadly we only had a few days in Kauai. One thing you MUST do if nothing else is this helicopter tour. Our pilot Chris was so skilled and experienced. We were a nervous at first as it was a bit rainy and windy in patches but he soon put our mind at ease. The trip is nothing short of breathtaking - don't miss it, it's worth every dollar and more!.

Brace yourself, a helicopter tour of Kauai is NOT cheap. But was it worth it?...It was pretty amazing. I paid full price ($230/ea) for three of us, but AFTER our flight, discovered discount cards for Blue Hawaiian at Costco ($79 for a $100 card). Wish I would have seen these before our tour! As far as our tour went, we were all surprised at how stable the ride was. We were thinking that it would be more choppy or jerky, but it was smoooooth. Our pilot Craig was very experienced and knowledgeable. My niece, who tends to suffer from motion sickness in a car, had no problems on this ride. One thing I did NOT know, was that dark colors cut down on the glare on the windows. Yes, the glare will affect your pictures. I was wearing a black top, light pink capris.and white tennis shoes. About half of my pictures suffer from the glare of my capris and shoes being superimposed over the picture. If you want good pictures, wear dark clothing. The couple that was riding with us were both wearing white shirts and BH gave them black t-shirts to wear over them to cut down on the glare. I wasn't too bummed about the pictures, though. BH offered a video of our flight at the end of the ride. The video included the narration by our guide Craig and the questions/interactions of the passengers on our flight. I got the SD disk so that I can burn it to DVD and make pictures for our vacation album.

My family took a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour of Kauai and I, for one, will never get over it! Since there were six of us, we had our own helicopter and our pilot, Craig, was top notch. He was very personable and knowledgeable and was able to answer every dumb question one of us had. :-) I had never been on a helicopter and taking a flight on one was on my bucket list. I can't think of a better place to have fulfilled one of my bucket items! Don't be afraid to fly on one of these. The lift was so gentle and even when we got some rain, the ride was still mostly smooth. The occasional rain gave us rainbows so it added something extra to the ride. The most beautiful part of Kauai is in the interior and along the west coast and the only way to see all of that is from the air. There are waterfalls in all directions and the colors of the mountains are spectacular. The views are so incredible that I am pretty sure my jaw stayed dropped for the whole ride! We got there 45 minutes early as requested. They need you there early so they can get everyone's weight so they can plan how to seat people for the best balance. There is a very serious safety briefing (which kind of freaked me out) but it told me that they really knew what they were doing. They load people into the helicopter one person at a time and they are the ones who buckle you in. I felt completely safe the entire time I was with them. I loved every minute I was on this beautiful island but this helicopter ride was the absolute highlight of my visit. There were several cameras on the helicopter which took pictures outside and inside during our flight. Although I took lots of my own pictures, I recommend buying the video from your flight because you will see things you missed the first time and you can remind yourself from listening to your pilot's narration of what you did see. Also it was fun to see our reactions in the cabin during portions of the flight. I can't say enough about the people at Blue Hawaiian, especially our pilot Craig, and about this great adventure! Don't come to Kauai and skip doing this!

The Kauai ECO Adventure was one of the Top 5 things I've EVER done!! If you visit Kauai, you MUST do this tour. It was my first time in a helicopter, so I was a little nervous, but after a couple of minutes in, I didn't want the ride to end. Chris, our pilot, was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. You'll experience "awesome" in the true sense of the word. We experienced a rainbow over the Na Pali Coast, countless waterfalls, green lush land, Waimea Canyon and so much more... simply magical. I'm thinking about quitting my job and becoming a helicopter pilot over Kauai so I can experience this every day. :-) FYI, they record the audio/video of the trip and you have the option of buying it on a DVD or SD card (depending on how your helicopter is equipped.) We bought the SD card and have already re-lived the experience on our computer back home. Almost as magical as the first time. If you book through their website (with 5 day advance booking,) you can get a discount rate. Make sure you request Chris! Then, sit back and enjoy a slice of heaven. Aloha!

We researched, talked with locals and also friends who have visited Kauai and done helicopters rides -- this was by far the most recommended by everyone and for good reason. Our first trip was cancelled and rescheduled due to some bad weather nearby, as the company said they wanted to make sure to follow through on all of their promises they advertise of what we would see, which we very much respected and appreciated. We returned a couple days later to get a fantastic helicopter trip and Marty as the pilot was great. We saw so many things that you can only see by air and he took us right up to them for close encounters. There is also a great dvd of your trip to purchase after that is a reasonable cost. Highly recommend it!

We were so amazed at the beauty of this island paradise six years ago when we visited it. This summer we were blessed to take a helicopter ride to see it from the sky and I must say it was the highlight of our visit! Chris was our pilot and we had a great time seeing the sights and hearing the stories of Hawaii/Kauai from him. This, while it is not a cheap rip to take, was well worth every penny! If we ever make it back to the islands, were gonna be looking for Chris and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters!!!!!!

We booked this excursion so that we could see the volcanoes and the waterfalls. We were only on the Big Island for two nights, and booked the helicopter tour on our last day on the Big Island. We were initially told that our pilot was sick and we were asked if we could reschedule. When we explained that we were leaving the next day, the staff managed to make some adjustments so that we were accommodated and able to do our flight. My only negative comment is that the staff didn't really keep up informed. We were told to sit tight while they tried to figure something out, but weren't told anything else for quite a while until we were then called out to a helicopter. No one had come back to us to update us. Having said that, we really appreciated that they worked to accommodate us and the flight itself was incredible! We did the Big Island Spectacular tour in the Eco Star. Our pilot was very engaging and informative. This is probably the best way to see the volcanoes. My kids (who are 14, 11 and 9) loved seeing the lava, which I don't think you would actually be able to see from the ground. The views on this entire tour were amazing. If there is any chance that you may be prone to motion sickness though, I would suggest taking gravol beforehand. Three of the people in our party of five felt motion sick (one of whom has never experienced motion sickness before). This is definitely an experience that we will always remember. Also, we bought the video and are really glad we did. It is a great keepsake and we have already watched it several times!

Loved the tour of the island with a friendly team who shared their knowledge of the island and provided an opportunity for a unique experience. The DVD available for purchase is also a nice souvenir to take home and relive the trip.

This is our fifth visit to Hawaii in 25 years, and the first time we'd taken an aerial tour. We've explored lots of the island by road and loved it (clearly, as we're back again), but this experience was just amazing. I'd highly recommend it to first time visitors, especially if you are short on time. Words are inadequate to describe this beautiful and spectacular place. This tour will give a great appreciation of what the island has to offer beyond the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We were very impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the ground crew and pilot Adam. Adam invited lots of questions and had a great commentary. All the staff were good that way - they seemed to be able to answer practically any question about the islands, from environmental issues, to the minimum wage (not mine, but hey, it was interesting). A worthwhile investment - especially if you pre-book online you save about 33AUD per head.
