We ventured to travel with our adult disabled daughter and so we looked at several options for accessibility to take a helicopter ride. There are many choices of vendors, but it became evident Blue Hawaiian was the most experienced, professional and helpful in every way. Our experience was beyond expectation. This was the best way to see the island up close and intricate from Black Goats living on the steep cliffs of the Napali to the herd of Whales we hovered to watch as they gently arose out of the waters for air to a 360 turn around the crater of Mt. Waialeale and more! Everyone was exceptional with Aloha spirit, helpful, and intuitive to our daughters special needs. Vince, our pilot, gave accurate and fun information while engaging everyone by name. The office staff was helpful to prep us and everyone helped our daughter get safely on and off the aircraft from our driver to the helipad and the ground crew. It was evident all the staff treated everyone like Ohana (family). If you want the best service, professionalism, knowledge, experience and accessibility..... Go Blue - Blue Hawaiian Helicopters! Thank you to Vince and everyone at Blue Hawaiian for such a tremendous experience!
The guest services rep at our hotel convinced me and my husband to take a Blue Hawaiian helicopter ride over Kauai, and I'm so glad we did! I have never been on a helicopter before so was a little nervous, but the crew and our pilot Geoff made us feel safe and comfortable. You just can't beat the views of the valleys, Waimea Canyon, Na Pali Cliffs, beaches, waterfalls, and more. Geoff, the pilot, was very knowledgable and gave great commentary. If you have the time, I recommend spending the little extra and taking this tour. One recommendation is booking in advance and not scheduling for your last day. Two couples on our tour had cancelations due to weather so had to reschedule for the next day.
This tour was the highlight of our trip! The views are amazing and this helicopter tour takes you to places that you will otherwise never see. Kauai from the air is breathtaking! Jimmy our pilot was great and the tour operation was very organized. The EcoStar helicopters are beautiful with great viewing and look to be the best of all tour operators. I recommend getting the DVD of your flight. Booking on-line at least 5 days before your flight will save you some bucks. We changed our actual flight day ad time after the initial reservation with no worries.
I got a little motion sickness on the ride, but not enough to ruin it. You have to do this in Kuaui. You can't see the entire isalnd without a helicopter. The background music they play on the headsets was well timed and added to the tour. Out pilot knew a lot about the island and got really close to the mountains. We even saw whales! Definitely worth the money.
This was my favorite part of the trip! Kauai is such and amazingly beautiful place and viewing it by helicopter is the best way. We also went on a catamaran tour which was nice but the helicopter was so much better. We had a very skilled pilot who was also very friendly. At some parts of the ride you get pretty close to the mountains but I never felt in danger and felt that our pilot had very good control at all times. The ride was very smooth. The views are amazing and you get to see how absolutely gorgeous Kauai is. Kind of pricey but worth it. I highly recommend a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour while in Hawaii!
A helicopter tour is a great way to see kauai as much as the island is inaccessible by car. I took the fifty min tour that covered the entire island. The blue helicopters seat two in front and four in the back and feature large windows. Seating is done by weight so u can't control where you sit. Views are incredible and you can get some great pictures provided u or no one else wears white bc of the reflections. I think the helicopters they use are pretty quiet for helicopters and they provide noise canceling headphones that block out the noise and play music And the pilots narration. My headphone didn't work so I just got the views and helicopter noises. Blue gave me a free DVD that they make of the trip with cameras on the helicopter and the pilots narration of the trip which is normally twenty five dollars. If you have the money to spend a helicopter is a great way to see the island
Punctual, great customer service, interesting and informative pilot, and the best view of Kauai...don't miss the opportunity to fly with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters! Remember not to wear light colored clothing as it reflects in the windows and messes with photo opportunities!
Our family of four embarked on our first ever helicopter ride and Blue Hawaiian was a great introduction to the experience. Their copters are comfortable and we found our pilot James ("Jimmy") reassuring, given that we were all a little nervous as newbies. The operation was smoothly run and everyone was very friendly (except for the lady who initially checked us in and got our weights; maybe she's been doing it for too long). We did have to wait a while after our ride for the staff to download and make copies of the digital video footage from inside and outside the copter so that the passengers could see a preview and decide whether to pay the $25 for the dvd (they were having some additional technical difficulties in our case and we ended up getting a copy of the dvd for free, which made the extra wait worth it). I highly recommend the overall experience, as you will get to see vistas of this gorgeous island that are otherwise inaccessible (and don't worry about wind or rain -- they're used to it and you can still see so much despite the conditions).
The pilot and helicopter were awesome. I would highly recommend this trip. I only gave it a very good because the office staff was unfriendly and untruthful. I booked waayy in advance to "reserve" the front seat. The lady on the phone said I was the first to request it. It wasn't until we arrived months later that they told me it goes by weight of passengers. I feel they held that back to make me happy and get me to book.
This was my favorite attraction on our 2 week hawaii honeymoon trip. The flight was smooth calm and very quiet. The helicopters have all floor to ceiling windows and allow you to see everything. My husband and I were able to sit right in the front next to the pilot. (they go by wieght) Our seats were awesome and we got great pictures. The views of Kauai are breathtaking and I think the best way to see them are helicopter. We saw waterfall after waterfall. The beauty was so intense that it brought tears to my eyes during our journey. The pilot tells you all about your views. This attraction is worth every penny.
Did 2 trips with these folks. Good orientation. Excellent equipment. Great pilots and excellent guides for both. Did this in Hilo and Nawiliwili, Kauai. Hilo: red lava, spatter cones, waterfalls - awesome. Kauai: tons of waterfalls, the amazing Wailea Canyon and Na Pali coast as well as a numerous movie sites including Jurassic Park, King Kong, South Pacific, Descendants etc. All with the appropriate music and wonderful narration. Best thing I did in Hawaii by far.
So worth the money! We had never been on a helicopter before and while it sounded excessive at first, our guidebook stressed that a trip to Kauai would not be complete without it. The staff was professional end to end, incredibly friendly, and really made a point to learn everyone’s name. Their helicopters are really nice, very comfortable with big windows. We were extremely lucky to get the front seats next to the pilot, who was friendly and knowledgeable and made an effort to engage everyone. The flight was amazing. We’d recommend it to anyone.
I did not want to take a helicopter tour as it was kinda scary to me. But I knew that of all the places a heli tour was a must, Kauai was it. We chose Blue Hawaiian for several reasons - reviews, size of our group (5) and a personal recomendation. We are so glad we did. Jimmy was our pilot and he was wonderful. He gave us all the geographical info, the historical info, the Hawaiian history, and pointed out all the famous movie spots. One of the things that Jimmy did that made our experience that much better was his sound track! He said each pilot was in charge of their own background music played during the trip. Jimmy's started wiht some 60's rock (closely associated with Vietnam) and then segued into Hawaiian tunes each corresponding perfectly to what we were flying over and viewing. Iz's Somewhere Over the Rainbow over Hanalei, and into the Mount Waiʻaleʻale sheild he plays this awesome Hawaiian tribal chant stuff. Completely amplified our experience. He wanted us to talk so our voices would be on the dvd they make of our trip but it was all so awesome we just muttered wow, and oohh, and stuff like that. You just take it all in and words just dont' work well. If you go to Kauai, go on a helicopter tour, and go Blue Hawaiian. You'll only be sorry if you don't do it.
Awesome, great, wonderful, exhilerating .I would do this again in a heart-beat. Not enough adjectives to describe how truly awesome this ride is! Vincent was our pilot and he was great as well. He was not only knowledgeable but pleasant and friendly with a touch of humor. We were able to purchase the DVD of our trip complete with narration and music which was a plus. This is something not to be missed. Next time we will do the longer flight on the other island.
From the first minute onwards you have the feeling that all staff are professionals and that you are in very good hands. We got picked up from the Nawilliwilli port and it took as only 2 minutes to the office where we got briefed. From there another 10 minutes to the airport. Blue-Heli is using the latest Helicopters - and when I saw the other companies I was even more sure to have choosen the right company. The whole process of boarding was very professionall. Once on the heli the pilot made our day. His flying skills where amazing and we enjoyed the trip verz much.... If you wanna see Hawaii , then only with is company! Thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable tour...
