Rick did a fantastic job of narrating the trip and pointing out geographic AND historical landmarks. So glad we did the trip with him.

Chase was our pilot- he gave us the thrill of a life time. It was our 1st time to the big island and looked forward to this tour. It did not disappoint!!! Better than we could have ever imagined

I did not really want to go because it is sooo expensive. The other 3 people I was with however wanted to. It is a treat for sure - especially since there is active lava right now. The trip was uneventful and smooth - I took a lot of Gravol 2 hours and 1/2 hour before. The pilot - Jason - very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. There was a lot of cloud cover so seeing inside the crators was a bit tricky. The lava was POURING like a huge hose into the ocean. WOW. What a special sight to see. If you can request to get a seat behind the pilot (seat 6 and 7). Your seating is based on weight distribution though. I was seat 4 and was looking at the ocean while flying along the coast instead of the cliffs and water falls. It was still very pretty but quite expensive. We stopped at Hilo for gas and bathroom break. You can not take ANYTHING except a camera and water. There are little lockers to use for your things. If you want something different - go for it.
