We took off from Waikoloa. Downside is we had the check in at 615 am and were not in flight until 715am. Lots of waiting. Also weather did not allow us to see the volcanoes but they refunded half the money. However my kids age 10 and 15 loved it. So beautiful to get so close to the waterfalls and see the greenness of the Island. Also shout out to our pilot Ian who was very knowledgeable, kind and funny. Most importantly he was a very experienced pilot and we had a smooth ride.

It was a great experience. Our pilot Scott was very friendly, knowledgable, everything was timely and the ride was smooth. Weather did not allow us to see the volcanoes but they refunded the money. My kids age 10 and 14 totally loved the entire experience, it was our first helicopter ride and we did the ' Eco-star Circle of Fire plus Waterfalls' tour from Hilo. We also visited the National Volcano Park later the same day to see the lava glow/crater at dusk, a fantastic day overall!

While planning our trip to Hawaii, we were told that a helicopter ride is a must. We selected the Circle of Fire Helicopter Ride that flew over lava fields and a volcano crater. Breathtaking views! We were able to get close up views and the pilot was careful to circle around so everyone in the helicopter (7 people and the pilot) were able to get good pictures. Our pilot was very competent, but it would have been nice to have more detailed information on volcanoes/lava flows. If you are prone to motion sickness, this may not be the ride for you unless you have effective medication.

We had done a previous Blue Hawaiian trip around Kauai, which was visually much more spectacular than this trip. The Circles of Fire flight is really worthwhile to understand the scale of the Kilauea lava fields and how unique this area is. Just don't expect to see big flows of lava most of the time, and the landscape, whilst fascinating, is relatively flat. Can now really appreciate the risks of living and building on this piece of land, and the power of nature to change the landscape over time. Royal Gardens area with its island of green surrounded by miles of lava especially impressive.

Tim was our pilot. Perfect day, great flight and unbelievable views! Eco-Star was very comfortable and the Bose system was great. Wish they had them when I jumped out of Blackhawks in the Army. Toms knowledge and flight experience made our flight first rate.

Flew out of Hilo on Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours. The tour was the "Fire and Waterfall" tour. We flew is a really nice helicopter and our pilot was great...knew the history of the falls, the volcano and the island. We got to see some lava flowing. Our pilot did whatever she could to help us get as many different views of the sites. The only down side was one of the ground crew who was responsible for assisting the passengers get in the helicopter and buckled into their seat. He DIDN'T talk...but just shoved the passengers and yanked their seat belts. All that was needed was talk and ask/tell the passengers what he wanted them to do to assist him. Highly recommend this outfit and enjoy the experience.

As stunning as the vast lava flows are, we found the far North part of the trip with amazingly tall water falls to be equally worth seeing. We chose the full,2 hour trip with both major,attractions. You will be spending quite a while flying to the attractive area. Depending on your car rental status, I might consider flying from Hilo to,see,the volcano. Then on a day I am over on the Kona side, lay from Wakolaoa to see the falls and cliffs of the North.

We had a remarkable experience during our Circle of Fire helicopter tour! During the ride we saw volcanoes, bubbling lava, the aftermath of flowing lava, waterfalls, beautiful vegetation and the Hawaiian coast line. Our pilot was professional and knowledgeable and his humor enhanced the experience. We had excellent visibility through the helicopter and were able to capture a lot of great shots. I would highly recommend booking your tour with this company, our family had an incredible time!

We saw active volcanoes, waterfalls and a mama whale who had just given birth to her babe. What a treat. Smooth ride, great day, pilot helped us all get good pictures of all three special things.

My dream vacation of a lifetime was to travel to Hawaii! We booked this tour with hesitation cause I had never been in a helicopter before~ OH what a GREAT experience this was. Took this tour during a sunny day so we were able to see a shinny bit of lava on the ground. The staff and flight crew were all very informative of the history of these volcanos and their native land. When in Hilo do plan to do this tour with Blue Hawaiian. You will not be disappointed.

Well organized pre-flight instructions. Pilot Gregg, former Marine Huey Pilot, remembered all of our names and where we were from, which was impressive. And he was very personable and informative. After takeoff, we flew over several breaching whales. I've never seen them from above. Then we flew over the glowing active volcano! What an incredible experience it was! Gregg circle left, then right so all sights could be seen from both sides of the helicopter. Don't miss this unique opportunity through a first class company.

This tour originates from Hilo, is about one hour in duration, and visits volcanic flows on the south coast and Rainbow Falls. It was our first-ever helicopter tour. We had a great time and will certainly do more in the future. The preflight routine is straightforward. Our pilot, Scott, put us quickly at ease and provided excellent commentary throughout the trip. He was both personable and knowledgeable. The volcano portion was over fairly recent lava flows, including destroyed villages and one that was barely spared. We did not view molten lava flowing out of a mountain, which would have been nice, but what we did see was very interesting. We also got great views of the south coast and a the falls. Scott generally made two passes at each key view, so folks on both sides could get a photo. A video of the entire trip was offered.

Although very pricey, this is one of those experiences that you will remember for a lifetime. Blue Hawaiian was very professional, they even bumped us up to an Eco Star helicopter for no additional charge for simply taking an earlier time slot. It worked out much better for us!!. The pilot, Ethan, gave us good information over the course of the flight and really tried to give everyone good sight lines whenever possible. At $230 US for A star or $280 US for Eco star start saving your pennies! Also bought the video at the end. Good HD quality and gives you whole flight.

We did the Circle of Fire ride. Everyone with Blue Hawaiian was very kind and professional. This ride lasted around 50 minutes. Our copter held 6 people. It's starts going out over the coast then right up to the rim of the volcano. Pilot was very informative and circled around so all sides could get photos. It's expensive, but everything in Hawaii is.
