So glad we had this awesome experience!!! Breathtaking views of the Big Island!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We did the Big Island Spectacular tour and the $$$ price for our family of four made it hard to decide to book this tour but I am so gla we did! It was worth it for this once in a lifetime experience! The views of the volcanoes cliffs and waterfalls were just amazing. The helicopter was comfortable and the pilot John was great. Small world is at the end of the tour he made the connection my husband had performed his foot surgery when he lived in SC! Also we appreciated that the DVD of our flight was a reasonable price to add on as a memory of our experience. If you are on the fence like we were I highly recommend you go ahead and book this tour! You will not regret it!

Had an awesome time and it was well worth it.
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We signed up for the 2 hour tour out of Waikoloa as we were staying at the Sheraton. Blue Hawai'ian Helicopter picked us up from our hotel and took us to the heliport in Kahului, Waikoloa. Scott our pilot was a former US Army Blackhawk pilot and provided us with a awesome show and narrative to boot. This was my wife's first helicopter flight and Blue Hawai'ian Helicopters failed to disappoint. We may even return when Blue Hawai'ian Helicopter upgrades all of their camera's to HD format. Very expensive but unforgettable
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This tour was a last-minute decision for us. Our pilot was Toshi. We were paired with a trio of Japanese tourists and he was able to do the tour in both English and Japanese. He's very informative and entertaining! I feel lucky to have had him as a pilot!we had initially booked the boat tour to see lava but the concierge mentioned the water is VERY rough. We did get to see lava flow on our trip but it it not what you imagine. The pictures show eruptions but we were lucky just to see some red flowing into the ocean and the resulting steam when it hits the water. There a no 'fireworks' but where else could you see this?! After a brief (and welcome) stop for refueling in Hilo, we flew along the coast and saw some spectacular waterfalls that are seemingly inaccessible any other way. Around this time, I began to feel a little queasy. No matter how awesome the pilot, you can't avoid all turbulence given the weather patterns in HI. If you are very sensitive to motion, you will get sick. Helicopters are well prepared for this. You can buy a video of the flight afterward for $40. Be advised, they film you inside the cabin the entire time. If you are looking to save money and are staying on the Hilo side of Big Island, I think it would be cheaper to fly from Hilo.

Excellent trip! Everyone should do it
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Great experience. We did the 2 hour trip to the volcano and waterfalls. Comfortable waiting area with water and bathrooms prior to take off. Helicopter was amazing with all seats having good views. Pilot was very good about showing things from two angles for photographs. Did see some magma in the crater at Kailua and also further down as the lava was running down the side. Same with the coast near Hilo with lava touching water and steam. Small break in Hilo for more fuel and bathroom and then off to waterfalls and valleys. This is a perfect way to see the Big Island.

Great Adventure!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We so enjoyed our 2 hour helicopter ride with Blue Hawaiian on our recent vacation. They began by picking us up from the Fairmont Orchid nearby and took us over to the heliport, although if you have a car, you can also drive and park there. There were three of us, including one person who is slightly handcapped and needed some assistance getting in and out of the helicopter. They were very patient and helpful assisting with her boarding and de-boarding the aircraft. The trip includes 2 parts- a ride over the active volcanic vent and area, and a trip around the rainforest and coastal areas. I won't spoil the experience for you by telling you too much, but we all found it to be an experience of a lifetime. Toshi, our pilot, made us all comfortable right from the start and shared a lot of interesting geologic and climatological information about the areas we went to. A couple things to know- you need to wear darker clothing, cannot bring any sort of bags, purses, etc. on the aircraft. They have lockers to store things for you while you are in flight, and you can bring a camera out of it's case. You can take good photos from wherever you sit, especially if you have a good telephoto on your camera. You will stop for a refueling in Hilo if you leave from the Kona side, half way through the trip. Round trip in the heli was 2 hours plus the additional time to and from the resort. We tipped the pilot as we had such a good time, but don't think it is expected. They have a gift shop to buy the DVD of your heli video as well as some other logo wear if you are interested. I would highly recommend this for anyone staying on the big island!

Fantastic
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

After doing a bit of research we decided to book with Blue Hawaii Helicopters and we are so glad we did. We booked the Circle of Fire and Waterfall flight and it was brilliant. Our pilot Adam was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions we had during the flight. He made sure all passengers were able to view the volcanos, lava flow, waterfalls and other points of interest which ensured we got some great photos, thank you. If you are considering doing a helicopter flight we throughly recommend booking with Blue Hawaii Helicopters

A must do in Hilo!

Riding that Eco-star helicopter is something I'll always remember! It was amazing! The pilot took us very close to the places, so we can actually take pictures of the lava flowing. Thanks James! You were amazing!

Great views
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We really enjoyed our trip with Blue Hawaiian from Hilo. We booked the older helicopter and were able to sit in the front. Great views of the devastation caused by lava, old lava tubes, lava flows into sea and waterfalls. An expensive but good way to see the above when you have limited time.

I loved going to Hawaii. The one thing I remember most is the helicopter ride. We flew over small mountain, ravines, and waterfalls. Our tour guide was very very informative and helpful about what we were seeing. The one thing I didn't like was having to share the mic. It will be the most memorable thing you'll remember when your older.

See the Kilauea Volcano from the Air
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We returned to the Big Island May 13-23, 2013 and once again did the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour from Hilo over the waterfalls and volcano. This time we took our three grandsons, 19 year old twins, and their 20 year old brother. The video taken of their tour is a lifetime keepsake. The skilled pilot showed them the lava only seen from the air, the destruction of homes by the volcano in its lava flow, and lava flowing into the ocean creating new land. What a memorable trip which we have enjoyed several times previously, but saw this time through the eyes of our grandsons. By the way, they do give a discount for repeat customers so be sure to tell them if you have done Blue Hawaii Helicopter tours previously. Well worth the cost!

Great Way To See The Lava
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

Our return trip to the Big Island was almost upon us when my wife tore the meniscus in her knee so we would not be doing much walking or hiking. To get a chance to experience the Volcano Natuional Park again from a different perspective, we decided to look into touring it by helicopter. After doing some quick research, we decided to go with the best and booked the Blue Hawaiian Circle of Fire plus Waterfalls tour. Even though we did not satisfy the 5 day advance purchase requirement, Blue Hawaiian gave us the on-line discount of 15% anyway. We picked the Eco-Star helicopter (more expensive than the A-Star as it is more glass area, quiet and roomy). That turned out to be a good choice. The seating is 3 front, 4 back, including the pilot. The back seats are higher off the floor so there is no problem seeing the scenery. The front seats obviously are the best. I requested those and though the said they do not guarantee (the computer made seat assignments based on passenger weight balancing), my wife got to seat next to the pilot. They did say for every 2 passengers that book together, they do guarantee one window seat. We showed up for the safety briefing, and walked out to board the bird. Our pilot, Jeremy, was very professional, knowledgeable, and provided good information while also give us time to ask questions and take pictures. He always turned the helicopter around so passengers on both sides have equal opportunity rfoto view the attractions. He pointed out several locations where we can see lava and spent a good amount of time on them. This is our first helicopter ride and we were both thrilled by the experience. We even purchased our flight video DVD. The tour was ~50 minutes and we wished it was longer. The Blue Hawaiian crew (reservations, gournd, air) were professional, personable and the helicopter was in very good conditon. We will definitely fly with this outfit again.

Flying in comfort!
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We flew in the larger Eco-Star on the 'Circle of Fire plus Waterfalls' tour. Our Pilot Colleen was fantastic. Excellent flying skills along with great commentary. We purchased the inflight video recorded of our tour and have really enjoyed reviewing the flight several times already. Great value for money, so pleased we experienced this adventure.

The best!
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We flew with John, he is an amazing pilot!!! Our family of five went with him on the ExoStar, it is an amazing helicopter. I and my nine-year-old are petrified of helicopters, however it was very stable and felt very safe. I felt reassured that John was a prior combat helicopter pilot in the Army and had flown many, many, combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan...definitely the kind of guy I want at the controls if anything went wrong:-). About halfway through my 9 year old went from white knuckle and eyes closed to saying "this is AWESOME!"....making it all worth it. Definitely a high yield way to see a lot of island quickly, and cost the same as the "lava viewing boats", but we got to see it pouring into the ocean, boiling out onto land, and a lot of waterfalls etc. in our opinion its pricey but definitely the best value. I also chose this company after researching safety ratings, and theirs is the best on the island.
