Great views and friendly service. Request Pilot Jim, he was great. He found a 360 degree rainbow for us. He provided great stories of our views (celebrity houses, beaches, dolphins, Pearl Harbor...). He also has a great sense of humor. He will keep you laughing and informed. If we return we'll do the longer flight. Great Trip!!!

My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I recently had the Magnum PI open door ride with Pilot Jim at Makani Kai Helicopters on Oahu. Pilot Jim did a fantastic job of overcoming some fears about the open door and showing us the island. One of the best things we did on our trip! Thanks Makani Kai and Pilot Jim!!

I took the first flight of the day on our second day in Oahu, and it was fantastic. Our pilot did an excellent job of making sure everyone got a chance to see and photograph everything, stopping and rotating around for everyone to get a good camera shot or view. Later in the week when we were visiting the USS Arizona memorial and the USS Missouri, I watched the other helicopter companies and not a one of them offered the views like our pilot did. I took the one hour trip and it was great for getting an excellent overview of the island. It helped me to have an idea of where my wife and I should drive and visit the rest of our stay on the island. I am a big Hawaii Five-0 fan, so to fly in the chopper from their show was an added bonus.

My friend booked the open door helicopter ride for my birthday not realizing I had a paralyzing fear of heights. Makani Kai has a stellar safety rating so I thought I'd suck it up and go. Well, I was terrified the entire time but Evan our pilot was fantastic. He made sure he told me whenever the copter would turn, if there were air bumps ahead, and kept us engaged with details about the areas we were flying over. When we landed I broke down crying due to an outpouring of fear and emotion and the fellow who was unharnessing me was so sensitive and calming. A staff member met me on the tarmac after I had disembarked with a glass of water and some comforting. How nice is that? I was unable to take any photos while in the air and so the staff gave me one of their books with photos and descriptions of the trip we had just taken. Fantastic customer service! ps. My friend found the trip thrilling :)

This was a 30 minute Oahu helicopter ride. The tour guide was great, as well as the service of the members working at this facility. Our pilot was especially knowledgeable about Oahu. The only complaint I have is the extremely cramped space. Keep in mind that they assign seats based on weight, and that is understandable. However, with 7 people (including the pilot) on the flight, seats 4 and 5 had very few wiggle room to take photos. Taking your phone out of your pocket was also difficult, if you haven’t done so pre-flight. In addition to the passengers sitting at the window seats hogging the whole window. But that is not the company’s fault.

I'm not a thrill seeker by nature but I love aviation and I was really impressed with this tour. The pilot was very knowledgeable and steered clear of a thunderstorm (even though a few people on the copter wanted a "thrill ride"). We ended up having to "ditch" at a military base because of the storm but all was good and we made it back to base with no drama.

We loved the time in the helicopter with Carl who was an informative and conscientious pilot. We felt safe and focused on the views. The volcano was very active and the lava flow was moving 40-50 MPH....coming out at 20,000 gallons per second! The aerial perspective of the devastation and beauty was the perfect way to watch it. Carl made sure that both sides of the helicopter had equally views. I would have loved to go up again the next morning. The Bose noise cancelling headphones meant that we weren't distracted by the din and could speak with each other...and listen to Carl's groovy soundtrack.

Wir hatten einen mehrstündigen Helikopterflug auf Big Island gebucht, zuerst über den Volcanoes Nationalpark, über den Kilauea, und nach einem Zwischenstop dann der Napali-Coast entlang. Unser Pilot, Carl, war super und gab sich immer grösste Mühe, damit die Krater, Wasserfälle etc. von allen Seiten fogografiert werden konnten. Die Musik zum Flug war auch sehr gut ausgewählt. Die Helikopterflüge mit Blue Hawaiian sind nicht die billigsten, dafür von Komfort und Zustand der Helikopter her bestens zu empfehlen.

What a great experience to see Hawaii from a new and exciting perspective. Blue Hawaiin creates a wonderful and informative flight over Maui from inclusive of a scenic vista from an island ranch like no other. Maui Spectacular tour is exactly that - Amazing with a great history of the island. Ground crew was amazing and our pilot, Derek was truly a wonderful tour guide and helped ease some pre-flight jitters from a couple of novices in the group. Clearly, a man who has handled the stick in a number of craft over many hours and years. It is hard to really capture everything you see so definitely purchase the video crested by a number of craft-mounted cameras that describes the sites in detail for the pilot’s own knowledge. In addition the musical soundtrack is terrific and only enhances the overall tour. Getting access to sites you can only really see from the air is an absolute treat!!! Easy parking and orientation from a committed and safety-first team complete a simple process to climb aboard. Definitely a bucket list level outing if you come to Maui. Mahalo nui loa!!!

We had pilot Greg.  Awesome experience.  Would definitely do it again!  Staff were friendly and professional.  Our pilot Greg flew us very smoothly over beautiful kauai and also gave us some dining and activity tips along the way!

Went for the 55 minute west Maui and Molokai tour and had a great time!

Completely blown away. We did the west Maui and Molokai island tour. Our pilot, Captain Mike, was a stud. Giving us great information about the island, but not a chatter box who let us sit back and enjoy the views. As a pilot myself, I can tell you this man has skills. He created views that no matter where you were sitting, you had a great view. We opted to upgrade to the front two seats which in my opinion is the best way to see the sights because of the glass windows in the floor and the unobstructed views through the large front window. My wife and I had our breathe taken away a few times by the incredible views. The islands of Hawaii are beautiful, but you truly haven’t seen the true beauty until you’ve taken an aerial tour. This is a trip we will take every time we come back. Spend the money, the memories this company will leave you with are worth far more than what their charging you. Thank you Blue Hawaiian. We will be seeing you again in the future.
