WOW what an experience. My husband surprised me with the tour for our anniversary. I had never been in a helicopter. The ride was smooth. The views were amazing. The staff and our pilot were very professional. Great time....would HIGHLY recommend.

My wife and I just got back from our first visit to Hawaii. We were only there a short time, but we did a number of excursions. This one was by far our favourite. Neither of us had ever been in a helicopter before, but we certainly had a great backdrop for our first ride. Oahu is a very beautiful place and you really get to see that with an aerial perspective. Our shuttle driver and pilot (Jeff) were both very friendly. Jeff pointed out all the sites and gave insight and historical backgrounds on many. My wife has a fear of flying and an even bigger fear of heights, but she wasn't scared at all on this tour. There are certainly a lot of cheaper tours you can do on Oahu, and most are longer than the 45 minutes that this takes, but this tour was definitely worth the money for us.

We loved this! The whole experience was a positive one. We received an email 24 hours before our flight with pickup information and the driver arrived at our hotel right on time. Jeff, the pilot, provided an excellent commentary during the flight and was really good about keeping an eye on all passengers to make sure everyone was doing ok. We booked the two front seats after reading in other reviews that smaller people are often seated in the back (I am quite small) and were very happy that we did. We had excellent views from all sides!

This is a must do! If you want to experience the island from a 'birds eye view', you will not be sorry! The views were amazing as was the photo opportunities. All staff were professional and experienced. I can say nothing but positive comments about this excursion and the professionalism of the staff. The only thing that could be improved if possible is the volume of the pilot to the headphones could have been increased as it was a bit difficult to understand some of his commentary. Certainly should not distract from an amazing and fun experience!

What an amazing experience. I couldn't image a better place to experience our first ever helicopter ride. So beautiful, so diverse and so much to see from the sky. I don't think we ever would have appreciated just how spectacular the scenery of Oahu is without having taken this trip. The staff are fabulous, very informative and keep in touch with you all the way. We highly recommend this experience!

We recently spent our family vacation in Hawaii and booked a one hour helicopter tour. It was more than we could have asked for. Aiki was our pilot and tour guide. He was timely and had a wealth of information to share with us about the Hawaiian highlights we wanted to see. The helicopter was clean and well maintained. We purchased the video that was taken of our tour and it arrived to our home before we did. Highly recommend this one hour tour. Ask for Aiki!!!

We wanted an overview of Oahu after we arrived and this was a great way to get it. The hotel concierge set up the flight for us and everything went smoothly. We went with 2 other couples for the one hour flight over the whole island. When the crew discovered a mechanical problem with the air conditioning on our planned helicopter, we were smoothly and quickly shifted to the backup helicopter of the same type. The staff was great in making sure this glitch did not interfere with our flight. As newcomers to Oahu (and Hawaii) we had no idea what we would actually see. The helicopter trip was a fabulous introduction. We saw all the types of terrain on the island. The pilot gave us close views of all the sights. When weather closed off some of the mountain passes usually used for these flights, the pilot easily shifted to alternate routes to get us to the areas we were to see. With a helicopter we were able to get close views of the waterfalls and mountain terrain. For us "newbies" it was great fun to see what Diamond Head looks like -- from the other side! (and the top). The equipment is top class. Clearly well maintained. Our pilot was experienced and knowledgeable. This was a great way to see Oahu in a few hours.

The best but shortest 30 minutes of our trip to Honolulu!! What a great way to see the island of Oahu!

My son wanted to do this to see the island from above. When we called we set up The Hidden Oahu Special, 45 minutes. We saw everything except the West Side of the island. It would have been nice to talk to the pilot, but since they record the video you are not able to ask questions. They pick up and drop at the hotel, which was great. I didn't want to deal with rush hour into Wiakiki when we were done. My son loves the idea that these are the ones they use on Hawaii 5 O.

As we were staying at a Ko Olina resort, Makani Kai offered to pick us up at the helicopter pad at Ko Olina Marina for no extra charge. We were glad they suggested it because we saved a trip driving into Honolulu. We were a party of three and were buckled into the back of the helicopter. At first I was disappointed as I thought we might not have as good vantage points as the passengers in the front. But very soon my mind was put at rest because the views from anywhere in the helicopter are absolutely spectacular. The pilot was also the tour guide and handled her dual role with expert care and a hefty dose of humor thrown in. While flying over the Honolulu airport the tower contacted her and instructed her to fly in a holding pattern a few minutes before continuing on. Diamond Head from the air is a sight you will not forget. The long stretch of white sand beach along Waikiki and beyond, the mountain range, Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, and the highrises of Honolulu all have special memories for me after having flown over them. From the moment we lifted off the ground we were transported into another realm. The whole event was absolutely breathtaking. My only regret is that we chose the 30-minute tour instead of the full one-hour tour. Next time!!!

Booked a 30 minutes Pali Makani helicopter ride through Viator. 45 and 60 minutes flights are also available. Prompt pick up for a 9am flight. Beautiful scenery, including Pearl Harbour, Diamond Head, Waikiki beach etc. Definitely worth it! Allow 2 1/2 hours for the 30 minutes flight with included transfers. See selected photos.

Great experience especially if you've never been on a helicopter. Everything looks different. Great service by company. Prompt pick up and drop off. Remember to bring your passports as you will need them to go on the helicopter.

Vieles auf Oahu kann man erst richtig aus der Luft sehen, so überlegten wir einen Rundflug zu machen. Anbieter gibt es viele, unsere Wahl fiel auf Makani Kai Helicopters. Die Helicopter wurden schon in der Serie "Hawaii 5-0" (die Neuauflage) genutzt. Und als Fan der Serie lag es nahe hier zu buchen. Außerdem konnte man -gegen Aufpreis- zwei garantierte Sitzplätze vorne buchen. Gerade für Fotografen oder Videofilmer ideal. Wir wurden pünktlich vom Hotel abgeholt. Im Quartier von Makai Kai durften wir sogar im 1. Stock einen Drehort von "Hawaii 5-0" besichtigen. Normalerweise dürfen Gäste dort nicht nach oben, aber da unser Helicopter defekt war und wir auf den Ersatz warten mussten, wurde eine Ausnahme gemacht. Der Flug war super, auch wenn wir durch den Regen nicht so eine gute Sicht hatten. Unser Pilot hat sehr gut alles erklärt, gezeigt und beschrieben. Viel zu schnell waren wir wieder zurück auf dem Flughafen. Leider hatte die Aufnahme unseres Fluges (man kann gegen Aufpreis eine DVD des eigenen Fluges kaufen) nicht geklappt. So bekamen wir einen schönen Bildband und eine allgmeine DVD vom Rundlflug. Trotz der kleinen Panne können wir die Helikopter Tour uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
