Indeed Spectacular!!!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

The views from this helicopter tour are absolutely stunning! Our pilot could not have been more professional, kind, or knowledgable - plus, the helicopters themselves have comfy seats and are very smooth in flight. You see gorgeous coast line, tons of waterfalls, and even bubbling lava at the top of the volcano! We lucked out on the weather and deeply enjoyed this experience - truly not to be missed on your visit to the Big Island!

Awesome views of canyons and volcanoes
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This is the most spectacular helicopter trip ever - it starts with flying over the volcanic areas with views of smouldering volcanoes and lava flows. Our pilot, Chase, gave both sides of the helicopter great views, but my highlight was flying up the coast from Hilo with wondereful views of the rugged coastline and waterfalls, then, the best bit, into the canyons, almost touching the sides. Very skillful flying from Chase, and it is just stunning scenery. A "must do" when in Kona. Everyone in the helicopter gets terrific views, so don't worry where you sit. Thank you, Chase, your specially selected music made it even more enjoyable, and perfect volume.

Blue Hawaii Helicopters - Big Island Spectacular Helicopter Tour
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Folks this flight is AWESOME. I cannot emphasise how great it is. The pilot was friendly, co-operative and knowledgeable. Although there was no flowing lave visible, we did fly over the active crater. The view was spectacular. We did a waterfall landing which I heartily recommend. Flew over many sites and the ocean. DO IT FOLKS. DO IT.

Amazing!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We signed up for the 7am 2-hour tour of both volcanoes and waterfalls. It was *spectacular*! The helicopter was amazingly comfortable and with the supplied headphones, quiet. We flew over the Saddle, looped around Kilaluea and then (much closer) around the new vent. Then we flew over the lava to see some red-hot molten flows. The pilot flew a figure-8 sort of thing so that both sides of the helicopter got an excellent view. (Incidentally, at no point did the flight feel anything but safe and stable -- the pilot was great!) We refueled in Hilo and then went up the coast to see amazing waterfalls -- including flying into some of the valleys -- and finally back to the Kona Coast base. It's not cheap, but is very much worthwhile. Highly recommended.

Fabulous helicopter tour with Pilot Chase
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This was an excellent morning tour of the two very different halves of the Big Island starting with the volcanoes craters and the impact that the lava has had in the island - amazing! And then Chase flew over to the windward side, which is just beautiful - green, lush - simply paradise! And so many waterfalls and fabulous valleys... highlight of the trip was landing by one of the beautiful waterfalls and taking some time out just to marvel at the gorgeous scenery. A fabulous “must-do” trip and the only way to grasp the makeup of this beautiful island... Couple of things to consider - there is a shorter (cheaper) flight, but think you’d miss the contrasts of the island landscapes? It’s very tempting to spend the whole trip behind your camera (and you’ll want to grab at least a few selfies) but so worthwhile just to put the camera down and marvel at the scenery first hand - and there’s always the film if your trip that you can buy at the end of the flight. Finally, we were very, very lucky with the weather, so fingers crossed you will be too...

Absolutely incredible experience!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

The helicopter tour (Big Island Spectacular) was the highlight of our visit to the Big Island. Our pilot was fantastic, the tour itself was incredible. We wouldn’t think twice about doing the same tour with Blue Hawaiian in the future.

Great flight with Toshi as a pilot
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Really enjoyed the two and a half our flight with Toshi as our pilot. Great information about the island and a great pilot. There is a no fly zone of 12 miles around the volcano so saw lots of smoke but had to stay away which I understand. Waterfall trip and landing was outstanding! If you get a chance do the waterfall landing it was super. It was a wonderful trip!

Great Experience!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Our pilot, Marco, was able to get us some fantastic views of the Kilauea caldera with the red-hot lava pool plainly visible, although we were prohibited from going into the area of Leilani Estates, which were being destroyed by lava flows at the time. We then got some incredible views of the waterfalls in the northeast side, flying very close (but safely) to the cliffs. Marco was an excellent pilot; he told us exactly what was going on with the flight, provided a lot of information, and made sure everyone got good views, including myself, even though I was seated in the middle rear. And BTW, I am 6'-4" and 195 and felt very comfortable in that seat. Plenty of room in all directions. Perhaps other reviewers who felt uncomfortable in that seat were, ahem, much "larger" than I am.

Skip the Big Island Spectacular
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Kohala was amazing and our pilot was cool. I felt misled when the pilot, during the Hilo part, the pilot said there were flight restrictions due to the volcano? I felt this should have been informed to everyone beforehand and perhaps given some sort of credit? And I just read a review which was posted yesterday and he said he saw lava flowing? Perhaps it was due to the weather and timing (I did it Friday morning around 9 am). Definitely do Kohala, but I say skip Hilo because it's too much of a gamble if you wanna see lava, especailly at this time.

Title says it all...Big Island Spectacular Helicopter tour!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We could not view the volcano activity, it did not mater, the tour was AWESOME! The history and island features were covered in a fun way. Everything about the north side of the island was remarkable, beautiful, and breath taking. The canyons, waterfalls, and beauty will be memories that will be cherished. The staff postponed our flight due to weather and we great appreciate the care for our safety. Always professional and smiling, we were grateful for the way they handled everything.

So Awesome!!!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Marco was a great pilot and guide. We were so lucky with the weather and the lava. We saw the ash plume from the Kilauea summit, then we saw the new eruption activity and the water entry areas, truly spectacular. The waterfalls at Kohala were amazing as always and my kids thought the music was awesome!

Toshi was Awesome!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This was our second helicopter tour, having done our first one on the island of Kauai a couple years ago. This trip was just as nice and our pilot, Toshi, was wonderful! He was a wealth of knowledge and made sure that everyone on board had a pleasant experience. Helicopter tours are pricey, but you certainly get what you pay for with this company.

Great Trip to see the waterfalls
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We were a bit disappointed because the weather prevented a trip south to see the volcano but the pilots and crew did a great job. They offered us a full refund, reschedule or a shorter trip to see the north coast and waterfalls. Our pilot Josh was very professional and at all times we felt safe. The waterfalls and north coast are spectacular and it was my wife’s first time on a helicopter and she enjoyed it greatly. They assign seats by weight and computerized assignment but if there are two of you someone will be by a window. Our trip was on the AStar and it was comfortable and had good climate control. The helicopters video equipment was broke but most of the time a video is available for purchase after your flight. The air was smooth for our trip so we had a great ride. They do book up a few days ahead so try to pick a day with great weather

Well worth the money, a lifetime event for wife and I
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We made the reservations over 6 months ago before recent volcanic activity so seeing recent movement was added bonus. We also opted for alternate waterfall landing. Large family, 9 total so price was more than airfare from California, but well worth it in value to us. A lifetime event for wife and I. If you are at Waikoloa Marriott and Hilton, there is a free shuttle service to and from ( about 3/4 mile drive.) The unpaved parking lot appears to hold about 25 vehicles if you drive there. From start, safety is upfront. Actual weigh in so a computer can account for weight and balance and subsequent seating assignment. Standard FAA required video on safety, but personal escorts to and from chopper on clearly marked lines and boxes, with assistance in strapping in plus flotation device. This also occurred when we landed at Hilo for unscheduled refueling stop. Nice to see pilots were erring on safety side in everything, sure mngmt wasn't happy with delay but stuff happens such as higher winds, route changes due to weather, etc. Disclosure: I am a retired military as well as retired major airline captain so this was great to witness. BH's attention to safety was excellent throughout our experience, especially from pilots. Note plural as our group was split into a 5/ 4 seating with one other couple in with the 5 in two helicopters, so pretty much a private party. The helicopters appear to be brand spanking new, and were actually built for the touring business and not a repurposed ex military/police chopper. Big windows floor to ceiling with large window eyebrows for looking above, almost like a moonroof, plus windows to look directly down in front seats. Bose noise cancelling headsets and when I took mine off, noise level wasn't as bad as my previous VTOL experiences. Our 2 birds were configured to seat 7 and 8 to include pilot, one with 4 in rear and front another with 4 and 3. They have other configurations as well. Floor carpeting is clean and new looking. Exterior paint jobs immaculate. Before you arrive, their notes to you include several tips and no nos, so heed them for best experience, such as dark colored clothing so reflection off windows doesn't ruin or wash out photos. No hats, no I- Pad cameras, I phones OK, and what we used.. The tours. Took off started to head up to North Coast due to weather at volcano site but changed enroute around Waimea due to reports of weather clearing, cut to N of Mauna Kea then over Hilo down coast to activity. Spectacular but also sad knowing that many lost their homes, saw several houses were spared but roads were overflowed by lava so doubt they will be able to get back. The movement of lava surprised us, we were expecting a slow flow but it looked like a fairly fast moving river. Of course the lava when it reached the ocean caused lots of steam and clouds. From there, back up east coast to Hilo for refuel, and then N up coast where we saw so many huge waterfalls we lost count. Flew up one canyon (Waipio?) for some great viewing of several large falls. Hard to believe there was that much water as our accomodations were on the desert side of island. Landing at the base of a private waterfall was also a highlight, felt like a movie scene from a VN war movie as we landed in a small clearing in the jungle. The added cost for this part wasn't much (about $130 per) considering the cost of tour itself so we felt it was well worth it too. From there a short flight back to helipad to obligatory gift shop, yes we bought especially for grandkids. Added note, when we made the reservations 6 months ago, the lady on phone said to book for early in morning as the flights would probably avoid the afternoon weather buildups. This turned out to be sage advice as while we did have some storm build ups to avoid, the weather was generally nice. While in the pool later at our resort, I overheard a couple of people commenting on how bumpy their flight was, and they didn't even get to fly up the canyons on their tour as it was way too bumpy, (unsure of their tour company), but I did surmise from their yakking they were on an afternoon excursion. In summary, if you can afford it, take one of these helicopter tours, and I do highly recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Big Island Spectacular with added waterfall landing.
