We just did this tour maybe 5 days ago? The tour itself, our pilot Robbie, all phenomenal. We did it as part of a tour group. We'd just done the 1hr 45 minute tour on Hawaii a few days prior which was also great. In terms of what you see, I think this one was better, even if less than half the length! Kaua'i is a GORGEOUS island and much more lush and green than the big island Hawai'i. I just got back to NY this morning and am now watching our videos from the flights.... I don't regret buying the videos, it's hard to get videos and pictures yourself, especially good quality ones, with the restrictions of window glares, and the helicopter itself so I'm glad that I have something, but my thoughts are this.... we paid the same price ($120 plus tax) for our 45 minute video as we did for our 1hr 45 min video. That doesn't make sense to me. The videos were also broken up into smaller segments so you can't just sit back and watch the entire video uninterrupted. Every 7-10 minutes you have to start a new clip so that's disappointing. And last, the quality of the video is somewhat questionable. Everything turned purple in the valleys (what should have been beautiful water falls were all purple) and outside of the valleys the greens took on a super over saturated green, the reds and browns of the dirt looked gold and yellow and also over saturated. Definitely nothing like the promos they show for the videos. Considering the cost of not just the flight, but the videos and the sample videos they show, I expected a lot better. I give the experience a 5, but the videos a 2. Easily way over priced videos so keep that in mind when you choose to buy.

Great experience! Would love to take the promised survey, but can't using google which is always a problem when logging on!!!!! But good pilot and nice view, although up quite high, of the volcano. This was my third ride with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. They are very thorough, helpful and safety conscious. Worth the ride.

Great crew and amazing lava view

This is our 2nd Blue Hawaiian tour, we did one in Kauai and now one over Maui. Experienced, informative pilots and crew. Thanks for a great time!

Highly recommend taking the time to see the beautiful islands by helicopter. It was amazing! The pilot was very professional and took the time let us know when the air might be bumpy. It was awesome and was a great experience!

Worth Every Second

Just landed!! We did the Big Island helicopter tour and it was my very first ride in a helicopter. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everyone we met made us feel safe and explained what to expect, which really helped with the nerves. Our pilot, Kaj, was awesome—super knowledgeable and really encouraged us to ask questions along the way. We got to see waterfalls, the coastline, valleys, and volcanoes… and the best part was catching actual lava spattering at Kīlauea! Such a special experience. I’d 100% recommend it if you’re ever on the Big Island.
