The island is beautiful but we can get that view from a jet flying in. We were so high almost the entire flight you couldn’t get a good view of anything. We’ve taken flight tours on the other islands and gotten low enough to see. Our pilot was pretty boring. We really didn’t care what every nook and cranny was named, or that there used to be a dairy farm there, but it closed down a few years ago and he doesn’t know why. We paid for a two hour Big Island Spectacular but we were the last flight to leave and the first one to get back. Our tour was 1 1/2 hours. Overall it was very disappointing and could have been so much more.
Awesome trip! Kaj was an amazing pilot. He answered all our questions and told us all about the island. We flew over the volcanoes and learned about the different flows, ages, and stages of a volcano! We did the waterfall landing which was spectacular. You flew in right beside the falls and were able to have a private waterfall experience. We saw two sets of whale families and Kaj circled so everyone could see. Such a wonderful family experience!

Best experience ever Scott Ferguson was the best tour guide ever. Very knowledgeable of the area and gave you plenty of photo opts. As a bonus he is a great photographer himself and has the best apple banana I ever tasted. Our pilot Max gave us a wonderful tour of the island and information as well. Definitely worth the money. Remember to tip.
