Fabulous ride. It has been years since I have done this anywhere and much improved. Jaffre (pilot) was a fabulous guide. Only disappointment was not to be able to buy a music soundtrack afterwards. Maybe Jaffre could send me his playlist? Pretty please?
Scott, thank you very much for the tour! Your commentary provided great color and a nice personal touch that perfectly complemented the amazing views. Also, thank you for affirmatively asking about how everybody in the party was faring in terms of both motion sickness and photography. Finally, you asked me and my girlfriend about eminent domain but we couldn't really answer fully on the helicopter. This isn't our area of expertise, but here's our answer! : There generally is a public safety exception that permits "regulatory takings" of land (which would explain how the state could annex the land after lava flows over it if, e.g., the land became unsafe). But other than that exception, we think the landowner would maintain ownership of the land - which would explain how people were able to rebuild their houses after a lava flow. [Obviously, please don't rely on this for legal advice!] Thanks again, sorry for this ridiculously long entry!
Pilot Scott & Blue Hawaiian gave us a fantastic tour including lava flow, active cinder cones, and water falls. We very much enjoyed Pilot Scott's demeanor and commentary.
Great tour! Noah, our pilot, was very descriptive, took time for everyone to see the sights, was smooth in flight. Be warned, you will come out feeling shaken, not stirred!

Joffrey was an excellent tour guide (great pilot too!) He really made the trip! It was wonderful. Breathtaking views. BEAUTIFUL! Also - Brian - our bus driver was great. Sweet, entertaining, and lots of fun : )

I think that the tour was amazing. I liked the lava the best because you normally never see stuff like that so that was cool, also the spatter cone was really cool because you saw the gases and lava. So i thought the tour was truely beautiful. Mahalo for the tour from co-pilot Kaden

We thought this tour was fantastic, especially how Ethan our pilot went around so that both sides of the helicopter could see everything. He also included the kids to make sure they enjoyed it as well. It was great how he explained what we were seeing, not only the volcano,but the countryside as well.
Brad wsa our pilot, he was great! Funny and knowledgable. The views were beautiful and we had a lot of fun!
