I'd definitely recommend taking the volcano tour. Our pilot, Brent, was fantastic and it was an amazing experience to see the lava. It was our 5th attempt, though the first from Hilo, with 4 previous attempts from the other side of the island aborted due to the weather. They obviously take safety really seriously and all the staff there were so friendly and helpful, really trying their best to help us to achieve our experience. It's a really well presented and professional outfit. Thanks again!
Rick did a great job commentating and flying. All of the music coordinated to his commentary and it was a blast to learn about the history of the island. Thanks, Rick. We will most certainly be recommending Rick and Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tours in the future!

We flew out on the 8:00 a.m. flight with beautiful blue skies. Our pilot, Shay, did an outstanding job of telling us what we were seeing and adding interesting comments along the way. This was somewhat expensive, but very worthwhile. Highly recommend!
Had a great time. Great context on the island and very relaxing selection of music and audio tracks. In particular liked the jungle / rainforest sounds when we were in the last 3/4 of the tour. Really helped us feel more in tune with the island at the ground level.
