Excellent trip. Expensive but worth it. Very safe. Viewing an active volcano is a trip of a lifetime.

Blue Hawaiian delivered all you could expect of this type of service. Their necessary attention to preflight details gave us the confidence to relax and enjoy the scenery of this beautiful island. Pilot Shay was entertaining and interesting. It was a great experience.

We had such a nice time on the blue helicopter tour in Kauai!! Shay was our pilot/ aviator and he did a wonderful job. Shay was very knowable when it came to the island and its rich history. He was courteous and made sure everyone got wonderful pictures and videos. The staff is professional and safety is their number one priority. I would definitely recommend doing the tour if you really want to get the full experience of island and what it has to offer. If we ever did another helicopter tour it would most definitely be with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. They also offer their services on the other islands — Maui, the Big Island and Oahu.

I am claustrophobic and almost backed out of this trip. I'm so glad that I didn't! This was a highlight of our trip! We chose this company because the Eco Star helicopter is suppose to be the Cadillac of helicopters with the most room. I was lucky enough to get a front seat, but I could have sat in the back because there was enough room. I read in a guide book that going to Kauai and not taking a helicopter tour is like going to the Sistine Chapel and not looking up. This is the perfect analogy! Blue Hawaiian Helicopters has a very nice building and waiting area at the airport. We saw other companies on the way to Blue Hawaiian and they did not look as nice. The tour itself is amazing! The scenery is un-describable! I took a lot of pics from the front seat and while they are great, they do not do the real deal justice! We were lucky to have Pilot Scott. He made everyone feel at ease immediately. He has a background as a Black Hawk pilot and has been doing this tour for years. I am not a nervous flier or afraid of heights, but this information made me feel at ease. They play Hawaiian music over the headphones. Pilot Scott had great information to share on everything we were seeing. It did pour down rain at one point on our tour for a few minutes, but there was still plenty to look at out the side windows. We finished the tour and they took our picture in front of the helicopter! I highly recommend this company! Very professional from start to finish! A separate note about the whole weight thing. Before this tour, only myself and my doctor knew my weight. :) Now the sweet gal behind the counter knows too. You walk in and they have you stand on a rug with two x's on it. There is a scale underneath the rug that you can't see. You don't see any numbers and the only thing the gal says back is "you are ready to go!" They figure out everyone's weight and seat assignment privately and then after the safety video they read your name and seat number only.

The most amazing way to see Kauai!!! Did with our girls, 12 and 16, and we all loved it! My girls were a little worried about being afraid of heights, but they were totally fine. This is the only way to view much of the island and it was worth every single penny!! Our pilot, Scott, was super nice and did a great job of narrating the scenery. Would tell everyone I know to take this trip. Try and get a front seat if possible (although seems to be set by weight distribution). GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!

In 2015 my wife and I took our first trip with Blue Hawaiian helicopters. This was our first helicopter trip and we were a bit apprehensive on what to expect even though we have flown all over the world. The first thing that reassured us was just the simple act of driving up to the heliport to check in. Blue Hawaiian had the only stand along structure for our check in and orientation. The other helicopter tours only had huts or tents for their operations. I'm a proponent of you get what you pay for and I'm not sure that if we had booked with an outfit that had a tent as their checkin location that we would have felt as confident as we did when we saw Blue Hawaiian's set up. Our trip in 2015 was awesome. This trip along with the bike ride down Haleakala were two of those 'catch your breath' moments that we'll never forget. The scenery was beautiful. The narration and knowledge of our pilot Scott was great. Once we finished last year's trip, I knew then that I was going to go back again on this trip on our return trip to Kauai. Well, in late June 2016 we made a return trip to Kauai and one of the first things that we did was take another trip with Blue Hawaiian helicopters. Once again, we had Scott as our pilot and even though we took the exact same flight pattern as last year the trip was equally as awesome. If you're going to do only one thing in Kauai, DO THIS. You may save $$$ by going with another outfit and you may have a great experience........BUT, if you want to be sure to have a great experience you can't go wrong with Blue Hawaiian helicopters. P.s., we'll do it again on our next trip to Kauai too!!

We had an awsome flight, it was a rainy, cloudy, kind of day, but it didn't make a difference was still a awsome flight, and our instructor was very nice, and also knowledgeable about the culture's on the island, and the volcanos, and there eruptions, we were able to see a small area of orange lava, silvery lava, and some really pretty water falls...

Heard going to see the lava meet the ocean was not to be missed. Helicopter easy ride, thrilling way to view the nature phenomenon. I have back problems and they took me by golf plane to helicopter. They were so nice and attentive and pilot Chad gave us a ride to remember.

My husband and I were excited to take this helicopter trip around Hilo, overlooking the active volcano and seeing where lava met the Pacific Ocean. Location was easy to find, staff friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the lounge area with complimentary lemon water, video area and gift shop. We booked through Expedia and received a free t shirt and prerecorded DVD of the helicopter flight around Hilo and the volcano. Safety briefing and video was informative- we were lined up outside in an orderly fashion and escorted to the helicopter, safely buckled in by staff. Tim ,our pilot, was friendly and informative. Take off went smoothly. Great questions and answers as we flew over waterfalls, large estates, the volcano itself and where the lava was flowing into the ocean and other points of interest. We caught a little rain coming back but that didn't affect anything. Landing back down was just as smooth. Thank you Blue Hawaiian helicopters- this experience was an awesome one! We would definitely recommend this trip and your company to our family and friends!

Once u get past the sticker shock of the 2 hour tour book it!!!! It was so worth every penny. Great pilot Jason. Stunning views great history. We saw into the volcano and surface lava not to mention the rainbow next to us. The breathtaking views of the waterfalls and the island. Go for it. Well worth it

If you go to Hawaii, you HAVE to take this tour. Christy, our pilot is absolutely amazing! I was frightened at first, but her talent for flying calmed me immediately. She was extremely knowledgeable about the island, mentioned us by name, flew that copter like it was her own little car. The tour was magnificent! I plan to return and request her again! Thank you Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours! What a wonderful, amazing journey!

A special tour in a helicopter, which is a smoother ride than an airplane, as you tour the highlights of the big island, You will be looking at lava, beachs, forests, volcanos and lots of other sites during the two hour trip. Definitely a special event for your trip to big island

Of all the excursions and events we participated in, this was the best! Worth every penny and be sure to buy the video of your trip!

We really enjoyed our jaw dropping Big Island Spectacular tour. The eco-star copter was very comfortable with plenty of visibility, a/c and noise-canceling headphones. Our pilot was funny, informative and professional. I was slightly nervous because it was my first helicopter ride and I'm afraid of heights. However, the takeoff was thrilling and I never felt unsafe. We flew over two active craters as well as the lava ocean entry. Our pilot went the extra mile to ensure everyone got a good view for everything! I can't even count how many waterfalls we saw on the second leg of the trip; it was certainly magical. This is the only part of the trip I got a bit queasy on - so be warned. There's a lot of quick ascents and turning in the valleys to ensure everyone gets stunning views. Worth every penny!
