Amazing!
Kauai - Lihue

The tour and views were amazing (obviously), but the staff was even better. The 2 girls working the counter couldn't have been nicer. The one girl's name was Amber, I don't recall the other one's name. We had Barrett for our pilot and he was great. He knew his stuff and made sure everybody got good pics. He said he has done over 10,000 of the tours of Kauai we were on. (Over 14 years of flying)

Absolutely fabulous
Big Island - Hilo

Took to the sky with Kristie our pilot. We got to see lava and waterfalls, so amazing. Kristie made our tour unforgettable, her knowledge of the Big Island and local history is second to none. But best of all is her wicked sense of humour and her insistance that everyone has a great experience. If you are allocated to her chopper you are going to have the best ride ever. Sending you a big thanks from Australia.

The second time, and equally impressive
Big Island - Hilo

My wife and I have enjoyed helicopter tours on Kauai and the Big Island, and this one was worth going back 4 years later. There is no access to the lava flows and active vents on Volcanos National Park, so this is the only way to see what is there. You fly over bright orange vents and steaming lava tube openings as well as the coastline where rock meets the sea. To see the extent to which a volcano can build up miles and miles of rock is amazing and makes you appreciate the creation of the Hawaiian Islands. We also saw slow moving lava entering forest where it slowly starts fires and brings down large trees. Our pilot and tour guide was very knowledgeable about the geology of the volcano and where to look to find the most interesting places that day. There are several helicopter tours available and I believe this one offers the best value.

Nice helicopter ride
Big Island - Hilo

I love being in a helicopter so I really enjoyed this ride. IT is great to see the flowing lava; however, it does not compare to the lava boat ride or hiking to the lava. If you don't get to do those excursions then the helicopter ride is a good option but it's definitely not my first choice to see the lava in Hilo. I was there when there was great lava flow into the ocean so that may be why I prefer the boat tour. I would also say that the helicopter ride in Kauai was much better. Kauai's helicopter ride is spectacular and Hilo is good.

AMAZING!
Big Island - Waikoloa

My in laws are turning 90 and wanted an adventure. Someone said, if you visit the island, this is the one thing to do. They did it! The staff was exceptional. It is difficult walking for them and yet, they could climb with assistance and enjoy the spectacular views and narration. Love that they were able to do this!

You must do this!! An Exceptional Experience!
Oahu - Honolulu

I've been involved in the tourism industry flying helicopters in Australia for the last 6 years and I can honestly say that this flight has some serious WOW factor! My wife and I were picked up from our hotel in Waikiki and taken to the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter base where we were greeted by a wide variety of shirts, hats and other souvenirs. After a safety brief and being allocated seat numbers we were taken to our helicopter, an EC130. Sitting in the front with my wife I was able to meet Loren, a former US Army pilot with a great sense of humour. Loren has the best way of narrating and explaining where we were, what we were seeing and some stories along the way as well. He is, without a doubt, the right man for this job! I got some amazing photos and video of Diamond Head crater, Waikiki beach, Pearl Harbour and a vast variety of well known locations. Even with a few light showers around, Loren made this flight really memorable. The EC130 is a perfect machine and it was handles in the smoothest of motions. I certainly learnt a lot about Hawaii and her history as well as how a very professional and passionate helicopter operation is conducted. A huge thank you to Loren, Shawn and the team at Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, this is a memory that we will never forget!

Great company and tour of the island
Kauai - Lihue

This was the first helicopter ride for myself and my husband. Blue Hawaiian came highly recommended by people we know that are pilots or work in the business. Helicopters feel very stable and safe. Company is organized and highly safety conscious. Our pilot gave us a great tour around the island and narrated history and interesting places to visit. Great to do before driving around the island if you can. There was rain in the Waimea canyon area, but we flew through it and could still see great scenery. Saw many spectacular sites including the "Jurassic Park" falls that you can't hike to. Might need to take something if you are prone to motion sickness, but ride felt stable-not a lot of up and down movement. They sell Dramamine and other things at the office if you need it. This was a highlight of our trip! Try it!

Best Helicopter Ride!
Kauai - Lihue

The Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour of Kauai was awesome! Our pilot, Brodi, did a fantastic job flying and narrating. He's lived there all his life and knew many details about the island. The weather was nice the day of our trip so he went off course and showed us some rarely seen sights. 5 of us went and we all loved it. Everyone had a good view. They gave us dark tee shirts which were essential for taking pictures. White clothes leave reflections in the windows and ruin pictures. Fantastic Flight!

Magnificent ... the only way to see the volcano is action.
Big Island - Waikoloa

We took the 2 hour trip. While it is expensive, it is worth it as you get the see major portions of the island including the active volcano and the magnificent east coast. You will need your camera and wear dark clothes to minimise reflections in the windows. Our pilot Greg was great and full of local knowledge .... we always felt safe with him. Book in advance as the flights are very popular. Only one downside - they need more restrooms at the terminal.

Birdseye view of Oahu
Oahu - Honolulu

Although the weather on the day was less than ideal we had a great Birdseye view of Honolulu, Diamond Head and Pearl Harbour. At times the cloud cover took away from some of the most breath taking views I've seen to date. The trip was well worth it! Our pilot and guide, Julie, was very knowledgeable of the island landmarks and "most scenic views". We also flew low enough around the south east tip to see a Manta-ray swimming over the coral reef, as well as giant turtles grazing.

Special Views
Oahu - Honolulu

Pricy but worth every cent. Best way to see one of the most beautiful places on earth. Very professional operation & knowledgeable pilot (pretty funny as well). Along with the theme music from Magnum PI & Hawaii 5.0 it was a memorable time.

Amazing way to see Kaua'i
Kauai - Lihue

This is our second helo tour on this trip and Blue Hawaiian is definately the class act. Very nice machines holding up to 6 passengers, a well informed professional pilot/guide and oh, what a view of the island. It was a complete island tour with upclose views of the Na'pali coast and a tour of waterfalls all around the island. If I ever make it back ti Kaua'i I will fly with Blue Hawaiian again. Fabulous.

A Lifetime Experience
Kauai - Lihue

We took our entire family of kids and grandkids, 14 in all, for this tour. We have been all over the world and this ranks at the top of our experiences. Our pilots Geoff and Scott were incredible. Safety conscious first but made it a great time. Words cannot express the exhilaration of the entire trip from beginning to end. Our ages ranged from 62 year-olds to 1 year olds and everyone enjoyed it. (Okay, both the 1 yo's fell asleep). Others literally had tears from the magnificence of what we saw. A one in a lifetime experience for someone who has already dived with great whites in Africa and climbed to Macchu Picchu.

Once in a lifetime experience
Kauai - Lihue

Some of the most beautiful sights we have ever seen. We had seats 2, 6, and 7, and Captain Scott did a great job maneuvering the helicopter to ensure that everyone got a great view. Waterfalls, canyons, volcanic remnants...the only way you could see even small portions from the ground is as a very experienced hiker with a lot of time. The staff was courteous and professional. They played some highlights of our flight video on one of their TVs so we could decide whether to purchase it. Well worth the money for this fantastic experience.
