My girlfriend and I went on the Blue Hawaiian tour a few days ago and it was absolutely amazing. It was my first time on a helicopter, and the take-off, ride, and landing were so smooth. Our pilot was very friendly and gave a great voice over for the whole island. The helicopters are very nice, roomy, and air conditioned. Try and get one of the front two seats if you can!!

Blue Hawaiian Helicopters offer a 'Circle of Fire plus Waterfalls' helicopter flight. The departure is from Hilo Airport and the reception desk is in the airport terminal at Hilo. There is a detailed safety briefing and then you are off. Flying over an active volcanic field is a great experience and the pilot flies in circles to make sure that all passengers get a good view of all the features. The helicopter has a lot of perspex so that passengers can get a good view and can take lots of photos. The intercom allows the pilot and passengers to converse and the pilot we had offered a lot of useful information as well as speaking really nicely to the passengers, especially children. The volcano was quite active in July but its activity varies from day to day. It is worth remembering that the lava does not flow into the sea all the time and the activity may be more or less. Nonetheless, I would recommend this flight to anyone. Having the opportunity to see land created is quite special. A CD is available for purchase for $40 after your flight but it seemed a bit steep for something you may or may not watch at some time. Taking lots of photos is a better option. The waterfall part of the flight is OK. We took this activity flying from Maui to Hilo and then flying back to Maui via Honolulu on the same day. You would also have time to hire a car and have a quick look at other volcanic features on Big Island/Hawaii Island.

We wanted something spectacular to finish up our Big Island trip and this was it. We had a birds eye view of the earth being made, waterfalls and island cliffs. Our pilot , Eli, seemed to really love the island and it came across as he told us about changes he has seen, places he has hiked etc etc. Little pricy but would do it again in a heartbeat!

Reasonable priced - pick up from hotel and return included. Spectacular views of Oahu Island and all the attractions – great to see them from the air – from surf beaches on north shore to the beautiful waterfalls. The pilot was professional and knowledgeable about the area and tour is a must!! If you do it at the start of your trip you get a really good idea of what you want to do on the island. Overall –awesome!! – will do the other islands with Blue Pacific in my next trip to Hawaii.

LOVED our helicopter ride. We flew right over the volcano as it was erupting and toured the rest of the island seeing waterfalls and gorgeous scenery. Our pilot was incredibly knowledgable and charming. The only criticism I have is that we didn't take off until about 45 minutes after they told us to be there.

This was absolutely the best activity we planned while in Oahu! We were a bit hesitant because we had never been up in a helicopter before, but after doing a ton of research, we decided to book our flight with Blue Hawaiian. The company was extremely professional from start to finish. We loved the comfort of the Ecostar helicopter. It is one of the best out there. We flew with Pilot Kristi. She was calm, made us feel safe, she was informative, and she didn't have a specific script that she stuck to. One example is that she saw a whale out in the ocean as we were flying. She took us over for a closer look. It ended up being two families of whales dancing around in the water! She spent time flying around so that everyone in our helicopter could see them. It was incredible and very unexpected! Blue Hawaiian offered a video of our entire flight after returning to their offices. It was $40 and included all of the dialogue that took place during our flight. It is well worth purchasing! This flight was a huge expense for our family. We would all do it again in a heartbeat! We can't wait to fly with Blue Hawaiian again. Thanks for a life long memory!!!

Our family of 5 had a 45 minute helicopter tour over Oahu. It was fabulous for us, however my husband probably had the worst seat (middle right) and said he didn't get to see as much as the rest of us, which was a slight disappointment considering it was a very expensive activity for the 5 of us. Overall though we loved it. Definitely a once in a lifetime activity due to the cost. It truly is a beautiful island perfectly observed and appreciated in the sky.

If you do one thing on the island of Hawaii do this. It is totally worth every dollar (and every minute sweating it out at the timeshare presentation to get discount tickets...) pilot was great and the A Star helicopter was like new and very smooth.

They videotape the whole thing. Buy it!!!! We took our own photos too. Wish I had the go pro camera to put on my head. Simply the most amazing thing I have done in my life. Flew through the canyon. Saw numerous waterfalls. The blue water made my mouth water in awe and beauty and wanted to see more. We had a front seat pilot was from Memphis TN. Close to my hometown. He has the greatest job and best office view. He's right!!!!! I still wear my t shirt and think back to that ride and smile!!!!! It's a must do while in kauia. It will not disappoint!!!! I must go back soon!!!!

Our Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour was the cadallac of all tours! Marty did an excellent job as pilot-tour guide. Not only did he fly the helicopter like you were sitting still but carried us in for very close views of several beautiful water falls and scenery. I was able to take many wonderful photos during the trip and would share them but they are not even downloaded yet. Would recommend this tour to everyone. Don't worry if you are afraid of flying or heights as we did not even feel it when we lifted off nor any sudden drops, etc that planes are famous for! Great ride!!!

We booked this tour through Discover Hawaii. We were really excited to see the volcano and maybe some lava! The tour itself was nice... very professional, very safe, fun. The pilot was good and friendly. Finding Blue Hawaiian was a bit tricky in the airport since other helicopter tours have larger signs, but you just park and go in and follow the signs to the actual counter. The tour was 50 minutes. We first flew to the volcano and it was awesome to see the smoke coming out of it and be near an active volcano. We got a lot of information about the island and lava flows too. The lava was flowing when we were there, but we only saw a small amount of it peaking through. It would have been awesome to see it flowing into the water, but that's obviously not the company's fault. We then flew to the waterfalls, which were awesome to see too. However, it was a long ride to the volcano, and then another long ride to the waterfalls. So it's a lot of down time just flying over land. It's cool to look around and get the aerial view, however the blue hawaiian tours on Kauai and Oahu have more to see during the actual tour, which we preferred.

With this tour you get to see parts of the island that is only visible by air. Their equipment is state of art with cameras music and a/c. It was my first helicopter tour and I must say we had a great time it was a smooth flight and our pilot instantly made us feel comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the island and all the locations he showed us, and did a great job at circling the helicopter so everyone could get a good view. We saw so many waterfalls and beautiful coastlines. It was a little cloudy and misty that day but we still wound up with some great photos. We purchased the video of our tour which was a great memento to have, the quality was fantastic. They exceeded my expectations in all areas. I can’t wait to do this again the next time I am in Hawaii.

The windows give a really bad glare. Most of our pictures have our reflected faces in them. Go with a helicopter company that does the door less option.

This was by far our favorite activity of our trip to Kauai. The facility is top notch: air conditioned lobby, water and coffee refreshments, clean bathrooms, comfortable seating, and a small gift shop. The staff were very friendly and we appreciated how seriously they take their jobs. They strictly enforce their policy of no selfie sticks or go pro sticks, which we appreciated as people next to us wanted to use them. They give you loaner black shirts if you aren't wearing dark clothing. We flew in an EcoStar which provided fantastic views of the island. The pilot was very knowledgeable and provided a great flight. We purchased the thumb drive video of the flight for $40 afterwards. A few tips: it gets hot in the helicopter especially if seated in the sun so do not wear a sweatshirt or jacket. Also, I wish I wore those lightweight black gloves with touchscreen ability so my hands didn't show up in the reflection of a few of my pictures taken on my phone (one of the reasons we bought the video of the flight!). Highly recommend this with Blue Hawaiian - well worth the price!
