Nice Helicopter ride, friendly pilot
Kauai - Lihue

My husband and I decided to go on a helicopter ride over Kauai as much of Kauai cannot be seen from the road. The weather was a little cloudy but the pilot was able to fly low enough so that we were able to see dozen of waterfalls. The scenery was spectacular. The company seemed to have safety first in mind which is what you want when flying in a helicopter. The weighting could not be more discrete. Overall enjoyed the ride, but might try the open air version next time.

Best activity in all my travels
Kauai - Lihue

A first class operation. Proper visitors waiting area, professional ground crew, and an excellent pilot/guide. We sprung for the extra priced Video. We went during our first few days on the island. So much to see that is unreachable by car that makes this a MUST do activity. Very expensive, But skipping it would be like going to the Louvre and just having lunch.

The Best!
Kauai - Lihue

This was our second flight with Blue Hawaiian and it was even better than the flight we took on Hawaii Island. The views of Kauai were absolutely breathtaking. We went all the way up to where the clouds rested on the mountain tops and watched waterfalls that looked like they came out of the clouds and plummeted 1,000 feet down the mountainside. This is surely a "don't miss" opportunity.

Amazing views
Kauai - Lihue

Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The Garden Island is so lush and beautiful! Perfect to see from the air. Our helicopter pilot was funny, knowledgeable and a great guide while also flying and toggling back and forth between cameras! Talk about multitasking. We were really glad we went with Blue Hawaiian over the others. It looked like a lot of the other helicopters had been repurposed to serve as tour helicopters, and didn't look very comfortable, where the Blue Hawaiian ones are made specifically for these types of tours. Comfy seas, extra window space so every can see out, even through the roof! Note that there is a weight limit -- if you're over 260 most companies will make you pay for an extra seat. We were able to negotiate with them, since between the two of us, it evened out.

Kauai - Lihue

Highly recommend Blue Hawaiian! Their helicopters are well maintained and very comfortable. Great noise reduction headsets with piped in music adding a nice flair to the ride. You won't be disappointed!

Best way to see Paradise!
Kauai - Lihue

We LOVED our helicopter tour of Kauai. We had an awesome pilot named Martin that was not only knowledgable, but a lot of fun as well. I was blown away at the magnificence of the island and in awe of all we saw. We saw places that can only be seen from the air that we would have otherwise missed. Blue Hawaiian is a top notch, efficiently managed outfit. First class all the way! Thanks Martin for a great ride! It was incredible!!!!!

Literally breathaking experience!!!!
Kauai - Lihue

After returning home to Missouri I find myself watching our video over and over. We will absolutely make it a point to book another tour when we come back to the islands. The views will leave you speechless. This was an excursion we had booked while on our honeymoon cruise and only wish we could have stayed on the island longer. Pilot Geoffrey was extraordinary and was full of facts about the island---very professional and personable...he and my husband are both Army vets so we found him to be particularly relatable. The music in our headphones was especially moving during our flight and seemed to be timed perfectly with the views we had. The weather was perfect and we even saw a rainbow (during the song "Somewhere over the rainbow" too!). I could keep writing about the positives but overall we were extremely impressed with our experience...I would even say that our expectations were exceeded and I am SO glad we paid the $40 for the video. The ONLY thing we missed on this tour were the pterodactyls and unicorns because it truly felt like we were in a dream!!! Cannot wait to come back!!! Do not miss out on this opportunity if given the chance. Thank you Blue Hawaiian!!! Mahalo!! -Tim & Ashley (Arnold, MO)

So much fun
Big Island - Waikoloa

The pilot kept us entertained for 2 hours and the flight was a lot of fun. The whole Blue Hawaiian operation was very professional, their helicopters are top notch, and they offer a lot of flights daily. If you're going to splurge, fly with these guys.

Our pilot Jen was amazing, not only a faboulous pilot but a knowledable guide too. See the USS Arizona from the air was even more meaningful that going on foot! I would REALLY recomend flying with Blue Hawiian

Glad we splurged.
Big Island - Waikoloa

What can you say about seeing Hawaii from the air. It was spectacular. First booking was cancelled because of weather. I was glad we we're able to move things around and reschedule. Didn't see much lava but the waterfalls were spectacular.

Expensive, But Once In a Lifetime Experience
Kauai - Lihue

Of all the islands, Kauai is the one to splurge on and take a helicopter tour. There is so much to see that would either take some pretty rigorous hikes to see or that you won't ever be able to see except from the air. Make sure you ask for the AAA discount unless you have some other discount that is better (I think the AAA discount gets you 10%) but, even with that, we spent $861.76 for a family of four. The tour lasts 55 minutes but that was just about right. The Ecostar helicopter holds six passengers plus the pilot and is the best type of helicopter of any I saw for this kind of tour. Since the helicopters all circle the island clockwise, the optimum seats are by a right side window (seat 1 is in the front and seat 4 is in the back) or next to the pilot (seat 2 in the front). However, none of the seats are bad and the pilots make a point to ensure that everyone gets a good view of the major attractions. There are a couple of things that should be addressed on the website that aren't. First of all, you are not allowed to wear a hat while on the flight. My daughter didn't do her hair and had a cap on and was pretty upset that she had to leave it behind. Also, make sure you wear a dark colored shirt that doesn't have any significant light colored decals on it. It has something to do with the light colors causing glare from the cockpit. They will either loan you a black Blue Hawaiian t-shirt to change into or ask you to turn your already dark top inside out to hide any light colored emblems. Finally, you can't being any purses, backpacks, etc... A camera or cell phone (set on airplane mode) for taking pictures is fine but other stuff will have to be left behind. You can either leave it in your car or in a free locker they provide. Our pilot, Miguel, was great. He'd been with Blue Hawaiian for 10 years and had flown in Vegas (Grand Canyon) and other places before that. It was obvious that he was an experienced pilot and not only flew expertly but also controlled the camera view for the video that was taken during the flight, the music that was playing depending on what phase of the flight we were in and kept up a conversation with all six of us (and remembered all of our names) pointing out island features and locations, answering questions and giving us a history lesson on Kauai and Hawai`i in general. A true professional. Oh, and they also have "convenience bags" in case anyone gets queasy. When over the island, it got a bit bumpy from the rising thermals. But when Miguel saw that a couple of folks in our group were getting a tad green, he took us out over the water for a bit where it was smoother so that folks' stomachs could settle down a bit. Again, the cost was high (at least that's a lot of $ to me) but this was truly a highlight of our trip and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again knowing what I know now after having experienced it.

Only way to see the Island
Kauai - Lihue

Kauai is spectacularly beautiful, but the majority of the island is inhabitable and inaccessible. This in my opinion is the only way to see the island in it's true splendor. Worth the money.

So Glad We Did
Kauai - Lihue

This is our third visit to the Hawaiian Islands, we have been to the Big Island and Maui and each time we think about doing a helicopter tour. I am so glad we finally decided to make the decision for the tour on Kauai. One it is it is the best way to see the island and two you can truly appreciate how beautiful Kauai is. We selected Blue Hawaiian for our first helicopter experience and I am so glad, very professional and our pilot (Geoffrey) was excellent. I was somewhat anxious before the flight on not knowing what to expect, when or tour was over I could have stayed on the helicopter for another hour, completely relaxed. It is a must to do.

NOT TO MISS!!
Kauai - Lihue

My family and I had an AMAZING experience with Glinda (like the good witch from Wizard of Oz). She was so calm and provided such a wealth of knowledge and history. We took the hour tour around the island and we are so happy we did. It was well worth it. The music was fantastic and well timed with what we were seeing. It's definitely a little pricey, but provided such a wonderful experience. I did experience slight motion-sickness but I think it was because I was taking pics all over the place. Everywhere you look there's another gorgeous waterfall or a picturesque landscape. Once I just focused on the view in front of me I was fine. I would recommend this trip to anyone and everyone! It's a definite MUST when coming here. Make sure to reserve ahead of time (at least 5 days) to get the web discount! :)
