Worth the money. Ask for Miguel as your pilot/guide
Kauai - Lihue

Aloha! Our family of 7 took a helicopter tour of the Kauai island with Blue Hawaiian. The age range of family from tween to 80s. The keiki and grandma sat in front and the other four sat in the back. Our pilot/guide was Miguel. Miguel explained the sites in detail, answered questions, turned the helicopter around so each side can get a good view of the wonderful vistas. What impressed us about Miguel is that he addressed each of us individually, using our names which are not the easiest to pronounce. The helicopter ride was smooth which is also a credit to the pilot. This was our first ride in a helicopter so it felt really special. The most favorite aspect of the tour was the closing in toward the waterfalls in the wai'ale'ale crater. That was breathtaking! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had seen some of the beauty before by car/foot (last look out point in waimea canyon, sunset from hideways beach). If this was the first time we were seeing the island, it would have been a 5 star experience for us. I wish I could give 4.5 rating. I recommend this tour whole heartedly. If budget is a concern, then do save up for it for the experience.

Breathtaking scenery, excellent pilot
Big Island - Waikoloa

This was my first time in a helicopter and our exemplary pilot Toshi put everyone at ease with his friendliness, levity and knowledge. The Ecostar helicopter was as comfortable as it was beautiful. With the Bose headphones, we could clearly hear wonderfully selected music suitable for the scenery before us and we could communicate through microphones (3 mics provided, so that each two passengers shared a mic). Although I was in an inner seat, I had good sight lines to all of the magnificent scenery - of course, those in the front and window seats had excellent, unobstructed views. Time passed quickly during our 1-hour, 45 minute tour of Hawaii Island. We were very fortunate to have a clear day and we could see lots! (We also watched a safety video prior to going to the helicopter). Although several of us were looking forward to seeing Akaka Falls (442 ft. waterfall) Toshi reassured us that we would be treated to even grander views. We didn't realize that we would soon be extremely impressed by experiencing multiple waterfalls that we would otherwise not be able to see without strenuous hiking - falls that were between 1,000 to 2,600 feet! Also exciting was seeing Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park from the air. We looked into a crater and saw glowing, bubbling lava. Toshi ensured that passengers on both sides of the helicopter got good views and camera shots of this and of all the spectacular scenery during the flight. We saw old lava flows (with some vegetation) and new flows (darker with no vegetation); steam vents; forests being burned and could clearly see the line between burned trees and green forests; we also saw lush hidden valleys, dynamic ocean shoreline, Hilo, Parker Ranch, macadamia nut orchards, and much, much more. The record of our flight (several cameras were running during our flight and these views were edited and included shots of us inside the helicopter) would normally have been available for us purchase after the tour however, Blue Hawaiian gave us each a usb of our trip because of technical difficulty (incomplete footage and no audio). We travelled with a kama'aina friend from Aiea who was most impressed by the beauty of the Big Island ... she had no idea, even though she has lived in the state of Hawaii for most of her life! Toshi said that it is too bad that only 5% of the folks who are staying across the way - at Waikoloa - take this helicopter ride. I think this unfortunate too and am thankful to have had the opportunity. Thank you Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, I am recommending this trip to all who I know are going to Hawaii. Am looking forward to taking the Kauai Blue Hawaiian Helicopter ride next time I visit the Garden Isle.

Well managed operation
Oahu - Honolulu

I did the 45min flight around Oahu about a week ago. And having worked for helicopter tour operation in Australia was keen to see the service and experience they offer. So glad I booked. From booking via phone and free pickup from Waikiki they,re staff were great. Awesome chopper and narration from pilot along with s tracking and orbits at highlight locations to give every seat an opportunity for a great view and photo opportunity. I took footage via a go pro which im pleased with , however I can see the benefit of the flight footage recorded on external cameras on helicopter. These guys provide a professional experience and from my experience seem focused on up holding as well as continual improvement to delivering a quality unique view of the the island.

Worth every penny!
Big Island - Waikoloa

We had a beautiful morning with an excellent pilot to enjoy the areas of Kauai which are hard to see otherwise. The staff and ground crew were friendly and the safety information was appreciated. Our pilot knew a lot about the island and answered all of our questions about life on this beautiful island. I am sure each trip is different, so I would take this trip again.

Travel adventure
Big Island - Waikoloa

We thoroughly enjoyed our flight with Greg. He was a wealth of knowledge and made the tour fun. Blue Hawaiian has a very professional set-up; I felt completely safe at all times. This was by far the best way to see the Big Island-volcano, coast, waterfalls...doesn't get much better than that!!!

A Must Do Experience!
Oahu - Honolulu

This was the most amazing experience and something all people should do while visiting the island if they can. Julie was our pilot and she was excellent and very knowledgeable. The people at the desk when checking in were extremely professional and friendly. Everything went smoothly from the booking to when we exited the building after the flight. I highly recommend this place. It is also much cheaper than a lot of other helicopter tours but just as good if not better. Love it! Will be back!

Spectacular experience, the only way to see the true beauty of Kauai
Kauai - Lihue

We had the wonderful opportunity to see the natural beauty of Kauai from the aerial view on December 17th and it was the highlight of our Hawaiian vacation. Our pilot, Miguel, was experienced and competent and made each person feel involved by pointing out landmarks as we flew and facilitating communication during the flight! He was also a lot of fun! I have to agree with all the reviews for the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours that I read prior to our trip. They are the "Cadillac of helicopter tour companies." Their safety presentation before the flight was very helpful. Their phone representatives are so friendly and efficient in helping you book a flight. You won't believe the sound quality of the music that is played during the flight... just beautiful . We bought the video that is recorded during the flight and it has been great showing it to our family members. They all want to go now Don't miss this experience.

A MUST DO!!!!
Kauai - Lihue

This is a tour that simply has to be taken! Almost a full hour's flight which gives unrivalled access and views of the magnificent Kauai landscape. Our pilot was friendly and very knowledgable and ensured we got a close up, bird's eye perspective of All the major sights including the Na Pali coast. Most of these areas are either inaccessible or very difficult to access so is an absolute must. The ground crew are friendly and helpful and you can purchase a video of your flight at the end.

Aerial Views of Kauai
Kauai - Lihue

Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours is a good way to see the entire island of Kauai. The helicopter flies over areas of the island that cannot be reached by vehicle or on foot. The pilot goes out of his way to get the best views of canyons, waterfalls, mountains, valleys and the coast line. Blue Hawaiian is located at the Lihue Airport. They have a building with a gift shop, restrooms and a comfortable waiting area. They request that passengers wear dark colored clothing to reduce the glare on the windows. The tour is a bit pricy. The cost for two passengers was approximately $420. The tour lasts approximately one hour. The helicopter we flew in carried six passengers. The only annoying thing about the tour was the passenger who sat next to me. He videoed the entire flight and kept waving his cell phone in front of my face.

Take this tour when you first arrive
Kauai - Lihue

We couldn't book until our last day on Kauai and saw so many places during the flight that we would have tried to see/do if we knew about them sooner. Marty was a great pilot and got us up close to amazing views. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. My family loved the tour, including my motion sensitive daughter, who had no problems with the flight - it was much more comfortable than we expected.

Experience not to be missed
Kauai - Lihue

If you visit Kauai you must do the helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian. They were the only operator that would fly the tour even if not fully booked. Tried Jack Harter but they would only fly with a full booking. So glad we went with Blue Hawaiian. They picked us up from the cruise ship for no extra cost. Check in was easy and they were very professional in all that they did. The flight itself was awesome. You cannot describe in words the view of the island, the Napali coastline and the spectacular waterfalls. Scott our pilot got us so close and his knowledge was very impressive. Book on line and you will save but any price you pay is worth the money. A must for anyone.

An incredible experience
Kauai - Lihue

The best way to see the island of Kauai is via Helicopter because most of the island is hard to get to. This was an incredible experience and well worth the cost. Blue Hawaiian is the best rated for good reason. Joffrey was our pilot and he was the best!

Great way to see Hawaii!
Big Island - Waikoloa

Great way to see most of the Big Island from a unique perspective and see areas not accessible by car. Our guide/pilot was great and we learned a lot while seeing lava flows, the coast, incredible valleys, and Parker Ranch. If staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations, they have a discount available through the concierge as well. Certainly worth the price.
