I did a Big Island Spectacular Eco - Tour (I think one of the longest tours available). The day our tour was originally scheduled for my friend and I were picked up from our hotel on time, and the driver was very friendly. Unfortunately about 10 minutes down the road he received a call to say the weather was bad in Hilo, so they wouldn't be able to fly. We were rescheduled for the following day, and picked up by the same driver. We arrived and went through all of the safety instructions before boarding, then were assigned to our helicopters. The flight itself was incredible! The pilot was skilled, friendly and knowledgeable and we got to see so much! We went over the lava fields, the open craters and flowing lava, as well as over the ocean where the lava meets the sea. We stopped briefly at Hilo to refuel, and continued along the stunning coastline, seeing the waterfalls and more tropical areas of the island. Ducking into a valley with several spectacular waterfalls was my favourite part! Upon arrival back at the helipad I was able to order a USB video of MY flight! As we only had the shuttle to take us back to the hotel, and it takes 20mins to produce the USB, they can post it home to me for free! Even to an international address! I would HIGHLY recommend any tours with Blue Hawaiian!

The early morning trip into the air was paradise. It was out of this world - as if we were flying over the moon and then over to watching hot lava coming from a volcano was extraordinary. We flew through a circle rainbow out into the coast and then off into the most spectacular views of waterfalls. Chase was amazing. A fantastic pilot and felt safe and calm and entertained the entire time.

This 3 week trip to Waikiki was going to be R & R only, so no attractions were planned. However nearing the end of our time there were places we thought we would like to visit. Doing some research we concluded that the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter flight would cover all we interested in doing in one go. What an amazing trip it was. We had done a similar helicopter trip from Las Vegas some years back and this was every bit as good. Janette was a highly professional pilot and tour guide giving everyone about a great view of all the attractions. Well done and well worth it.

This was one of my bucket list of things I wanted to do whilst in Oahu. My wife wasn't so sure but she absolutely loved the experience. From the time we took off in the very safe and capable hands of our pilot Julie this was always going to be a time to remember. The views of this amazing island are to be seen to be believed. To travel along the coastline and look at all the hotels on the beach of Waikiki, around Diamond Head and on to the North Shore back to the most amazing waterfall. Julie took us right into the face of the falls so we could get fantastic photos. Julies commentary made the whole journey all the more enjoying. Finally back over Pearl Harbour then safely back to the airport. The modern helicopters make you feel safe and if ever I get the chance to visit some of Hawaii's other islands I won't hesitate to use Blue Hawaiian Helicopters again. 5 Stars

We flew in an Eco Star helicopter that seated 5 persons. Each of us had a fantastic view. The seats were comfortable and the cabin was air-conditioned. Our pilot, Chris, was witty and so knowledgeable. She also manoeuvred the helicopter with such skill! It was an AWESOME 45 minutes in the air. and the landing was so gentle. THANK YOU CHRIS. You are a star!!! I highly recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopters for their overall professionalism, their clean helicopters and for the ease in booking online. A flight to remember - well worth the cost. DO IT!

Hi All, on a recent visit to Big Island (Hawaii) we tried to see the volcanoes and waterfalls (The Big Island Spectacular 2 hour tour) from the Kona side of the island. Unfortunately the weather was against us and after 4 failed attempts we ran out of time. However the staff and pilots there completely went out of their way to help us achieve our experience, even getting us up in the air on the 4th go, though cloud coverage meant we couldn't get over to the other side of the island to see the lava flow. They really do give you the impression that there is nothing they wouldn't do to get you to see the spectacular natural phenomenon except risk your safety. They really do make you feel part of the islands family. Once again thanks to all the team there. We were finally successful on our 5th attempt, this time travelling back from Oahu to fly from Hilo for the 50 minute volcano tour. The team over at Hilo were just as professional. The pilots we had (Marco on the Kona side & Brent on the Hilo side) helped make the trips with their own choice of music and their unique styles of flying. We would definitely recommend it!

This is the best way to see the active volcano. Our pilot was wonderful and a good tour guide as well. The ship was very comfortable and smooth. The volcano, the lava into the sea and the waterfalls were all amazing. We saw it all in the 50 minute tour. Even though it's a long drive from Kona to Hilo, you will have time to tour Hilo while you are there and you don't waste time flying across the island. This is a not to be missed tour.

This tour provides a magnificent view of the island. Our pilot/guide Marco was very knowledgeable and friendly. The helicopters are very comfortable and every passenger had a great view. We saw Kiluia's lava lake up close, the beautiful waterfalls on the northern tip of the island, and learned a lot about the big island's history. It's pricey, but worth every penny.

Top rated company for safety and best equipment. Great viewing of volcano, lava, and flow into ocean plus so many waterfalls and over towns. Expensive but worth it.

Go. Do it. The island is worthy to be seen this way, and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters are highly professional and safe. We've flown a lot of helicopters for work, so we've seen a lot of outfits and these guys are professional. Enjoy the experience with comfort and ease.

We booked Blue Hawaiian on our own so we probably paid full price. That being said, we got the trip we wanted, when we wanted and with a fresh enthusiastic pilot. We set in the front seats next to the pilot, in the new Eco class helicopter. The amount of glass and overall visibility was excellent; contributing to a fantastic view of the big Island. We have taken several helicopter tours but his was spectacular. We flew completely around the big Island over the volcano caldera, over lava spewing into the ocean. The pilot was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He pointed out and discussed all of the key attractions.. absolutely specatular

I'm not a great flyer but this was nothing like a flight. It was a slightly windy day but you really didn't feel it - much more like a joyride that just cruises through the sky. Christopher our pilot was funny and really tried to ease my nerves with his jokes. It was probably the best thing that we did in our 5 days on the island - amazing scenery and we thought it was well worth the cost. I'd recommend wearing dark clothes as white reflects. They will give you a shirt to cover your own (if light) but it does get warm in the chopper so layers aren't a great idea.

What a great way to see the Volcano's in Hiro. We had a young female pilot who was absolutely brilliant, she knew all about the area and gave us some amazing photo opportunities

This was my first time doing a helicopter tour and although it was pretty intense (wouldn't recommend eating a large meal beforehand!), it was definitely worthwhile. We did this tour at the end of our multi-day trip in Kauai, and I think it made the tour more meaningful since we had explored the island by car and had a general orientation as to where things were. Seeing them by air gave a different perspective - especially Waimea Canyon & the Na Pali coast which were just amazing! I chose Blue Hawaiian based on several excellent reviews and personal recommendations - they are definitely a first class operation. Make your reservation in advance to save money - we booked using the Shaka Gold card.

We had a wonderful time and the potential view from this first classed helicopter was excellent. I had two disappointments. The first was that the ride was supposed to be 55 minutes or more and was actually 45 minutes. The second was that I was in the backseat behind the pilot and could see very poorly of what was beautiful country. We did not switch seats during the helicopter ride and thus it was disappointing but excellent for those upfront.
