The only way to see Kauaii
Kauai - Lihue

This was the ultimate 'ride'. Our 6 passenger helicopter, piloted by Barratt was a magnificent overview of the entire island. Each sight was more impressive than the previous. He gave all passengers an opportunity to see everything from the "best" angles and provided informative commentary. We had opportunity to ask questions. This was a first class operation and my only recommendation is to make the ride a full 55-60 minutes. It was not a full hour as represented, but it was so spectacular we aren't complaining.

Highlight of the trip
Kauai - Lihue

I will make this short and sweet. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Very professional, ran on time. Our pilot Dave was wonderful. Smooth ride with breathtaking sights. I am one to get motion sickness and felt fine when the ride was over. I wanted to go again! I would highly recommend and will go with Blue Hawaiian the next time we are in Hawaii.

Expensive, but if you came this far...go for it
Kauai - Lihue

I beleive all the chopper companies are expensive and this was no exception. But if you're in Kauai, what better way to see the Napali coast and the volcano. The boat trips can be a challenge getting all the way up the coast if its rough. They were professional, the machine was nice and clean. The pilot was friendly and helpful. Wuld sugest the tour that puts down in the canyon. A nice break, great views (actually I think it was the view when George Clooney looks over his property in The Descendants) and once you've seen it, you can skip the trip up Waimea canyon in a car (and save the gas money)

Fantastic experience
Kauai - Lihue

My wife and I, along with my parents, went to Hawaii in March 2011 and did this helicopter tour. We all agreed it was the highlight of our vacation. None of us had ever been on a helicopter before, and some were worried about motion sickness (including myself). In fact, we did the cruise around Hawaii and with the waves being rough, the cruise was very rocky and caused me to have some light-headedness. Despite this, once I got onto the helicopter, I felt perfectly fine. The ride is very smooth. The views are incredible...we flew over some of the most beautiful places I'll ever see. After the trip, they offer a DVD of your trip (which is a no-brainer for me)...and it includes video of your flight, along with occasional cut-ins to the cockpit and all the time, you hear on the DVD what you hear in your headphones on the flight. I've probably watched the DVD 15 times in the past year since I've been back...just to keep reliving this experience. It's one of those "bucket list" type of things, you really must do!

Must do!
Kauai - Lihue

Our first helicopter trip and decided to do on Kauai and not disappointed at all. Blue Hawaiian was first class all the way during booking (doing online saves $$ and still has 24 hour cancellation), prep, transport, flight and afterwards. Brandon, our pilot, was informative and had a great sense of humor. Got call about wearing dark clothing to limit reflections but some others didn't or forgot. This could have been more highlighted in all confirmation information. Was raining on parts of the island, not unusual, but did not take away from experience. The EcoStar helicopters looked a lot newer and had more glass area for viewing than some of the others I saw. Wife and I were lucky to get the 2 front seats but assignment totally based on weight distribution. Total airtime was about 50-55 minutes. A little disappointed that flight 'cut off' Northeast corner of the island from Princeville, Kilauea Point, Anahola, Kapa`a, and Wailua. The costliest 1 hour adventure of our lives but you have to do it if you can. We were glad we purchased for $25 the DVD of our flight. Well made with all in cabin communications and passenger questions mixed with nice music and views of entire flight.

A different way to see Kauai.
Kauai - Lihue

We had a pretty good tour with Blue Hawaiian. The staff that prepped you for the flight and the pilot were very attentive and knew what they were doing. Professional, yet layed back. Safety was a key factor with me, and so is that of the company. One drawback. The a/c on the helicopter wasn't up to par. The 4 of us in the back were getting rather warm, and even started sweating during the flight because the amount of air coming out of the vents was very minimal. Still a good experience my new wife and I will remember.

Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours
Kauai - Lihue

THANK YOU BLUE HAWAIIAN HELICOPTER TOURS!!! On Thursday – 26 July we had the pleasure of touring Kauai by ECO-Star Helicopter (Blue Hawaiian). Pilot Jimmy was given the responsibility of providing us with a safe and memorable flight. I was extremely nervous - although I wanted to do the flight – I was apprehensive about heights. My daughter and I were in the front with Jimmy and my husband was in the back with a young couple. Jimmy put me immediately at ease with his soothing voice and confidence in what he was doing with the helicopter. I could not take photos - or speak – the sights were so awesome! Although Jimmy tried to get us to chat – it was not in the cards for us. This was a terrific experience and was truly underscored by having such an experienced, professional pilot and knowledgeable tour guide as Jimmy. He took us into areas of Kauai that were not accessible – it was such a thrill to see the island, waterfalls and all it’s beauty from the air. I highly recommend the eco-star tour and pilot Jimmy to anyone! A MUST DO IN KAUAI! Lori, Tom and Julie Newport, NC

Blue Hawaiian Flight of Life
Kauai - Lihue

Denise and I enjoyed this memorable experience, an adventure of a lifetime. As we explored Kauai from the air in the Blue Hawaiian helicopter, it offered spectacular, breath-taking views of the Garden Island. Captain Barrett delivered a memorable and fulfilling experience. He demonstrated accomplished flight operations skills and aviation experience, with a professional and personable style. Denise and I appreciate the professional staff of Blue Hawaiian helicopters. During the complete experience, we enjoyed the "customer flight experience". Enjoy the Flight of Life! Fly safely..... Kirk and Denise Scherz

Must Do While in Kauai!
Kauai - Lihue

We took a trip with Geoff, and it was very well done. I felt totally safe the whole time, and the views were amazing! There was well-timed music to go with all the changing views, and our pilot told good stories about the land and history. Honestly, the best part was all the views. If you do anything while in Kauai, do the helicopter tour!!

Wow!!
Kauai - Lihue

My husband and I flew with Blue Hawaiian yesterday and loved our experience. Prior to the trip I was terrified. I'd never been in a helicopter and I'm afraid of heights and enclosed spaces. The weather was rainy and windy and although I'm not a pilot I wouldn't consider this to be ideal for flying a small aircraft. Flights had been canceled the day before (which I guess is a good sign that they won't fly in bad conditions). This was still no consolation to me and I had nightmares of helicopters for 2 nights before the trip. You might be wondering why I still went ahead and booked a ticket. Well, the reason is because everyone said it's a must. And it really is. We flew with Geoffrey, and if you're a nervous flyer, Geoffrey is the pilot to fly with. He has a calm professionalism that will put even the most neurotic at ease. And it doesn't hurt that he is easy on eyes ; ) Geoffrey grew up on the island and is extremely knowledgeable about the land, history and culture of Kauai. He has flown in Afghanistan and his skills are top notch. We did hit some bumpy air, but Geoffrey mentioned it beforehand and assured us it was nothing to worry about. And it really wasn't too bad; I felt that we were safe and in good hands at all times. He continued to navigate the landscape with a smile. We flew through mountain crevices, over the canyon, into the falls....you just can't do these things in a car or boat or on foot. I won't go into details because words just won't do it any justice; you have to see it for yourself. I'm so glad I didn't chicken out. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

Best decision - well, a great one anyway.
Kauai - Lihue

We tried to get out of our reservation as we booked this without checking the reviews. We were glad we didn't. Our pilot, Vince, was great as we're the crew and staff. After we were in the air less than one minute my wife and I looked at each other and said "unfffing believable". I had a middle seat and we thought that was going to be horrible, it was not, don't let that stop you. It was the best views I have ever seen. It's going to be even a better experience for visitors in the near future as they are building their check in site right next to the flight deck. Best decision we made on this Hawaii trip by far.

Awesome way to see Kauai
Kauai - Lihue

We got to Kauai at 10:30 am and took the 1 pm tour on blue hawaiian helicopters. Our pilot, Vincent, was experienced and did a great job flying, narrating and letting us know what to expect. The views of the waterfalls were spectacular and the visibility from the Eco-star helicopter was outstanding. Big windows all around made it easy to take lots of high quality pictures. One bit of advice, follow their instructions and wear dark clothing as anything light reflects in the glass. I'm a private pilot and was impressed with the way they handled every part of the excursion. Would definitely fly with Blue Hawaiian again and highly recommend them.

Best View of Kauai
Kauai - Lihue

Their office is just down the street from the Marriott in a nondescript shopping center, but after a safety briefing they shuttle you over to the helipad near the airport. I'm a big guy so I get put in the back row on the inside due to my weight and their need to balance the copter. Those seats are fine. I could still see plenty and take photos from my advantage. Kauai is a mostly uninhabited island that has been used for many movies. It's difficult to see the entire island except by helicopter. Our pilot took us over many of the sites and also gave us a commentary on the history of the island and the changes in geography. I will say that our pilot was an ex-military pilot and a little bit of a cowboy. It made for a hair-raising trip at time, especially when we were inside the cone of an old volcano and it looked like we had just enough space to fit with our rotors. He proceeded to turn the copter 360 degrees while we all held our breaths... My wife said if this had been her first experience she would not have gone again, but I thought it was marvelous. We got into a spot that they rarely see due to poor weather. We had a brief opportunity to go and our pilot took it. Now we have it on a DVD of our trip.

Exquisite Kauai scenery accessible only by air
Kauai - Lihue

I've taken this tour twice: first time 5 years ago, and again when I was there with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. Both times I was thrilled with the tour and amazed by the prehistoric-looking scenery before us. On my first trip I was placed in the second row (they seat you according to weight distribution) but this last trip I was in the front row next to the pilot. It's hard to describe the scenery so I'll post some pics. Our pilot, Nathan, was extremely experienced and also knowledgeable with stories of the history of the land we were flying over. We saw the Napali coast, places where Jurassic Park was filmed, sites where Johnny Depp filmed, and coves so hidden that they looked like no one had ever walked in the sand. This isn't for the faint-of-heart, as you will fly very close to jagged peaks and mountains, but you are not in danger. ALL the pilots are highly trained, and are the best on the islands. If you want to see the magic of Kauai, go for it by taking this 55-minute helicopter ride. Be advised though, it is not inexpensive (over $200 a person) and they charge you a fuel surcharge too. But you do get what you pay for!
