Wonderful experience taking the circle of fire and waterfalls tour. We were initially booked for an afternoon flight but due to low clouds, we had to reschedule. The whole rescheduling process went very smoothly. We were given the option of full refund or rescheduling and they were able to work with our schedule for an early next day tour. Our persistence paid off and the helicopter tour gave us fantastic views of the active volcano with steam and orange flickers of activity. This tour also gives wonderful views of a series of waterfalls that are not accessible by hike as well as aerial views of Hilo bay. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Our tour started off with a phone call for a flight the next day. As it turned out, our group changed from 2 to 4 on the day of the tour, so I promptly called them to see if we could get all 4of us on the same flight. They were more than accommodating to make sure the we all went on the same flight. We arrived 45 mins prior to the tour as they requested and were lead to their waiting room where they played videos about Hawaii. The only bad thing that I can say about this so far is that they offer a local discount, but to get this, the locals (our guests) had to personally pay for it. We wound up paying full price for our friends because it was a gift for them. Our tour was simply amazing. Our pilot was "Flyin Brian" from Tennessee. He has a great personality and made sure that he knew all of the names of the people on our tour. He made jokes all thru the flight along with all the information that was asked about what we were seeing or pointing out. He also made sure that both sides of the helicopter saw all of the sites. A DVD of your tour is available after your tour and I suggest purchasing it. Where a lot of places charge up to $200 for a video, there's was only $25! It really does capture the moment. Definitely 5 stars!!! As we ended our flight "Flyin Brian" summed it all up with one saying that left us all smiling.... "Mahalo y'all!!!!"

What an incredible experience we had today! Our pilot was a super nice young woman (hate that I forgot her name); so friendly and informative as we flew around Hilo and to the volcano. She chatted with us as we flew and told us interesting facts about the lava flows that destroyed the neighbouring villages and homes, about what was to come over the next few months and years, and even showed us some waterfalls on the way back and told us about Hilo (it's the rainiest city in the US!). We got to see some lava in the top of the volcano and some flows down below, as well as some forest fires, and flew also out over the ocean. It was all so stunningly beautiful and breathtaking. There was an option to purchase a video of your flight (the heli is equipped with 4 cameras) if you want a keepsake of your experience!   Every person from check-in to take-off was super friendly and helpful, and I couldn't say enough good things about the staff at Blue Hawaiian. I highly recommend doing a flight with them.

Our pilot Ethan was very nice. He provided lot of info about the island, hovered helicopter around the sight as long as we were not satisfied viewing things, showed amazing waterfalls, etc.

Great ride. I loved my pilot. I loved my experience in the air However very frustrating that you have to wait about 20-30 minutes to get back to the cruise boat. Worth doing only if you do it first thing in the morning so you still have time to experience other things on the island

Well they don't lie there is not a bad seat in the chopper  but on a relative basis the 2 middle back seats stink. My wife sa a lot with the window seats especially when the pilot rolls to that side. I saw 2/3 of what everyone else saw not to mention my volume button did not work so I could not turn down the music I did not want to hear. Our pilot was great that's pretty important  after the flight no one there cared to even Listen to me about the volume problem but 4 stars just make sure you get the front seat trust me

Staff was friendly n knowledgable. Tour was perfect . Pilot circled a couple times so everyone could see the waterfalls and lava. Would highly recommend it. Also got free shirt n dvd Wow !!!

Great time. Felt very safe in modern helicopters and piloting felt experienced. Helicopters appeared nicer than the competitors next to them. Tour guide / pilot was knowledgable. Had an issue with the mics so we were not able to communicate with pilot in flight. Was a bummer but they were good to address our disappointment when we returned. Just make sure the communications are working before departure - would have been 5 stars if we could have talked during flight. Beautiful scenery, pilot made sure both sides of helicopter had equal view of lava / waterfalls. Pilot knew right where to go and best angle to fly to see the days lava flows.

We picked blue Hawaiian due to the reviews and safety ratings. You do not get to pick your seat which I think is common for all the helicopter rides in the area as they use a computer to distribute the weight equally among all the helicopters that they are going to use for certain flight times. We choose their Eco star option (which is supposed to have a slight better view from all seats) to see the lava and waterfall out of Hilo. The back seats are slight raised above the front two passengers but I am short and probably would not have been able to see much if I had sat there. Luckily I was by a window seat which was an amazing view. Since the area is currently pretty active we got some good views of molten lava at the vent and plenty of steam as the lava fell into the ocean. Our pilot Seth was new to Hawaii but he was relatively informative ( however I wonder if a pilot that had been in the area a little longer would have had more to offer). We didn't see the waterfalls because of the weather (can't be mad about that, since I wanted to return in one piece ). The only reason for the 4 stars is that the video that they take of the whole trip was not available to us at the end as their equipment had failed. Luckily I had a gopro camera anyway but I was kind of looking forward to buying a dvd in addition. They are not the cheapest in the area but since they have one of the best safety ratings I decided that might be of importance too!

Thanks to our pilot Tim for an awesome flight!  Great airtime checking out the lava flows in Kona. Worth the price of admission!

Superior company with top notch rating for safety and quality equipment.  Expensive but well worth the price.  Great viewing of lava, steam vents from lava tube, lava entering ocean, so many waterfalls, towns, just a great experience.  We had a ball.

Great tour! Greg was our pilot out of Hilo and did a great job taking us out over the lava fields, the ocean, and waterfalls, all the while explaining the geography and working hard to get us all great views. Highly recommended!

First time ever on helicopter ride, outstanding tour Marty was excellent. This is a must to see the Hawaii Islands. Marty did an outstanding job piloting and narrating for us. Will never forget this lifetime chance to see the Island of Kauai from the air.

Our pilot Mark was wonderful. The weather was beautiful. The most amazing experience we have ever had... Thank you for making our Kauai sister adventure memorable!!!
