I did the Big Island spectacular tour at 7am in the newer of their helicopters. It was worth it. The scenery is breathtaking. Smoking lava, magnificent coastline, whales, waterfalls and jaw dropping valleys. It certainly seems like the best way to truly appreciate the island. Marco was our pilot and he was excellent. His ability to maneuver the helicopter was remarkable and he was knowledge, friendly & funny.

We took the Kohala Coast tour on the eco-star helicopter (spacious with a/c) and our pilot was Jason. It was a nice ride that lasted almost an hour which is just enough and Jason was knowledgeable of the area. I'm from the island of Oahu and was with my nephew who is from Kealakekua (located on the island of Hawaii). Being born and raised in Hawaii doesn't always mean that you are able to enjoy everything it has to offer. On this tour, we were able to see and appreciate a part of the island that we've always known about but never did get to enjoy because of accessibility. I would highly recommend Blue Hawaiian on your next trip to Hawaii.

My husband loves geology and was pretty excited about taking the 2-hour Big Island Spectacular tour in the Eco Star with Blue Hawaiian Helicopter. He was not disappointed. Neither was I, but I didn't have big expectations like he did! It was an expense, nevertheless we are glad we splurged. It's something we will remember forever (and we have the DVD in case we do forget!). Another nice bonus was Blue Hawaiian picked us up from our hotel (the Hilton) in their shuttle so we didn't even have to drive to their location!

Not to be missed!  Ask for Pilot Scott!! AWESOME!!!

Spectacular! Smooth ride. Did not feel nervous at all.  Took a flight of the northern falls of Hilo.  Just beautiful.  Worth every penny. Shane our pilot was just great.

This was my first helicopter ride and was the most amazing experience!!! My husband and I really enjoyed this part of our honeymoon!!! Julie was our pilot and was very knowledgeable of the Hawaiin Islands!! Thank you for a memorable experience :)

We felt safe, everyone could see and our pilot tried to turn the plane so everyone could get pictures at the main sights. The back right is the worst seat, but our pilot did compensate by rotating around. My mom had the money seat and had great views and pictures, I was in the back right. The seats are based on weight and a computer so you can't really pick or make requests. I thought it was a good deal based on my research and 45 min is plenty of time. I would say this is a good choice for an orientation of the island and a decent deal overall!

Professional outfit, had some trepidation but they made us feel relaxed throughout the tour. Highly recommended, gives a totally new perspective on a beautiful island ! Would have hit 5stars but the on board video was bleached out which was a shame.

Just had a amazing flight over the lovely island, Our pilot Jennifer was very nice, she knew all the information on the island and where to go while being on vacation in Hawaii... VERY GOOD!!! love the view of the island!!!

I am an Iraq Veteran and thought I might have some "issues" with taking this tour however, I was very pleased to have no issues. The ride is soft and gentle. The views are amazing and well worth the price. My pilot was Adam who was very sweet and answered everyone's questions. I loved seeing all the sites from the air as it makes you appreciate it more when visiting on foot. GREAT Tour and I would do it again.

Took a helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian with my wife on our anniversary while vacationing in Oahu.  I indicated on the reservation and on a subsequent phone call to Blue Hawaiian staff the day before our flight that I was a combat veteran with moderate PTSD and having researched the company, the helicopters, etc...I knew I might experience some uncontrolled anxiety if forced to sit in the back seats all cramped in.  When I called the day before the tour, they said they'd do everything possible to get my wife and I in the front seats...NOPE!  I got placed in the back seat, smashed between 3 other people...not a pleasant experience!!  I had to concentrate on making sure my wife enjoyed herself or stare out the windows for awhile to finally calm down enough to enjoy myself.  The experience would've been far better if I'd sat in front or at least given a window seat to help with the anxiety..but that didn't seem to matter to the staff.  It's clear to me after flying with this company...they may promise you all kinds of things...but don't expect them to follow through.  The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars is the views (that I could see) were great.

An amazing experience that is not be missed!Flying above Oahu with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is the best way to see this beautiful Hawaiian island. The staff was wonderful. The pick service from our hotel was easy, quick, and punctual. As we arrived at BHH we noticed the huge smiles of the returning guest; it was a contagious excitement.  The check-in process was efficient. The safety presentation demonstrated that this was a first rate company with safety as their first priority. The flight around the island was beyond words. BHH did a great job of pointing out landmarks and features. Our pilot Adam was knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of the way to make sure that we saw everything. The helicopter was a state of the art machine. The noise levels were great and the music playing through the headset was a great touch. Cost may seem above any budget but the service, experience, safety, and state if the art chopper, are well worth the price. On our next trip to the Hawaiian islands, BHH will be our only aerial tour. Highly recommend BHH to see Hawaii!

We had a great time on our 50 Minute Helicopter Tour. We took the early morning flight, and we got lucky and had great weather and sun during our flight. We also felt it was an even trade for the price. We originally wanted to do an open door helicopter tour, but we quickly found out that those were quite expensive. Blue Hawaiian had a great online price, and they were professional and we felt safe the entire tour. Some tips: - Do the tour towards the beginning of your trip, then you can get local insider advice on any questions you might have on place you would like to visit. It is also a good way of getting a nice overview of the island, to give you more ideas on where you would like to visit if your whole vacation isn't planned yet. - Listen to them, and wear dark clothing. Since this is a closed helicopter ride, the glass WILL reflect the clothes you are wearing. They recommend you to wear dark clothing so you have less reflection messing up some prime camera shots. Of course, you will see, not everyone will abide by this, but at least you can control what you're wearing. - Be on time. This place does not run on Hawaii time. They will show an informational video prior to take off that you will have to watch before you go on your tour. Overall we loved the tour. Our guide was a local who grew up on the island, he was kind, informative, and threw in some jokes here and there. Also played some great Hawaiian music while we were up in the air. We bought the dvd of our flight in the end and it was a great souvenir of our time on the Island. There were tons of picture opportunities and we would definitely recommend Blue Hawaiian for any helicopter tours for Kauai or any other island they serve.
