Great trip. Perfect way to see the island. Couldn't have been better. Excellent narration by the pilot.
Took a tour with Pilot Geoff on the island of Kauai. Our pilot was fantastic, funny and informative with just the right amount of commentary. His musical selections perfectly described the mood and scenery. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something amazing and memorable. The staff at Blue Hawaiian were professional and friendly. They made us feel very safe and went out of there was to make this a wonderful adventure. I can not say enough nice things about the staff. Thanks again for making my 29 th birthday so special Oh and if u have an extra $25 grab a copy of the DVD. These are moments you will want to replay again and again
Hands down, this was the most incredible tour I have ever taken. We did the 55 minute island tour with an excellent pilot who explained what we were looking at as we flew around the island. It was absolutely mind-boggling how beautiful it was. The wall of tears, Na Pali coast, Hanalei bay - all just absolutely spectacular as seen from the sky in a helicopter. Pilot took the time to turn around at each key location so both sides of the helicopter could see everything. The helicopters are also equipped with multiple cameras, so your trip is recorded - absolutely amazing memory! I can't recommend this tour/company enough. Very highly recommended.
The weather was clear and perfect and the pilot was so knowledgeable. Much better than our first ride in 1996. The crater is awesome as is the Napili coast!
Blue Hawaiian is obviously the busiest operator on the Island with three helicopters running almost non-stop. Despite this, they are well organized and things move smoothly. Our pilot, Vince, called each of us by name. He was very personable, extremely polished and knowledgeable. He had the perfect balance of explanation and knowed when we just wanted to be awed. I cannot imagine a better trip or better pilot. Everyone on the flight remarked that it was the best activity we have ever done on the Island.
Hands down the high light of our trip. The cost was $200 each but worth it. The helicopters are new and large. Our pilot was very informative. The views from the helicopter are unparalled and you fly right into the crater of the island. My only complaint is that they require you to come to the office and check in, even if it appears fairly obvious that the weather will prevent the flight. If you cancel without coming to the office, you lose you're payment; if you come to the office and they cancel, you can reschedule. Perhaps all the helicopter companies have the same policy, but it might be worth investigating what you have to do to get your flight rescheduled if the weather is bad.
From our check-in and safety briefing through our flawless take-off to our feathery touchdown, this was the experience of a lifetime. Brad, our pilot, was warm and well-informed about the geology, geography, culture, and history of the island. He did a great job of preparing us for whatever amazing sight was coming up next as well as anticipating any turbulence the copter might experience. It was my first helicopter flight and I felt completely comfortable. That meant I could really focus on the grandeur of what I was seeing--waterfalls, beautiful valleys, majestic mountains and formations, and, of course, the crater of Mt. Waialeale. It was worth every cent. My only question is how soon I'll be able to do it again, maybe at a different time of the day or a different season of the year. I can't wait.
This is an absolute must and, for everyone that may hold back due to the fear of flying a helicopter, fear no more... We flew with Nathan and it was easy for him to share his knowledge of the island and interact with everyone of us over the one hour flight. The views are beyond anything you have ever seen even if you have youtubed everything prior to your flight. You will be in awe for the duration of the flight and the interactive narration and music playing in your headsets almost makes t feel like an extraordinary ride at an amusement park. Kauai is beautiful but seeing it from the air is unique and overwhelming! Two tips for anyone chosing this company, 1) Please spend the extra 25$ to get a DVD of your flight 2) Despite waiting for your DVD to ensure you get your own,ask to see it before leaving. We wanted to share the experience with a couple of our friends who intend to go over the next month or so and in putting the DVD in we got one from a full month prior and obviously not what we were expecting, so must say we were quite disappointed. We have called them and they are supposed to send our own copy. Hopefully they do....: : (
Best part of my holiday. Our Pilot Nathan was an experienced pilot and was very informative. The views and scenery are fantastic. A little on the expensive side but still worth it for the experience. I agree with previous comments front seats are the best but unfortunately it all depends how much you weigh.
We took this tour as a fill in for things that were cancelled by the shutdown and must say that we would not have seen Kauai withoutn having this tour. The pilot was Bogart and was good and showing us the canyons and falls and although this was the first time my wife was getting on a helicopter, Bogart kept the helicopter steady and the way he described things we were seeing, she quickly relaxd and enjoyed the flight.
Anyone visiting Kauai should not be allowed to leave until they have experienced this flight! It was the absolute highlight of our visit and worth every penny. Blue Hawaiian is a totally professional outfit, all their pilots are skilled at making you feel comfortable and enjoying your flight while you learn something about the Garden Island. Definitely the best way to see the island. We drove up to Waimea Canyon but it had nothing on the views from the helicopter. Even if you are nervous of flying, do yourself a favour and give it a go - you won't be sorry. Best photos are from the front of the helicopter but there's still quite a lot of reflection so buying the dvd is the best idea. Mahalo for a great experience!!
Brad was a very knowledgable and wonderful pilot! I would go on another helo tour in a heartbeat. Mahalo!
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) took the Kauai tour with Blue Hawaiian this morning. It was awesome. Kauai is breathtakingly beautiful and you will see a lot from the air that you just cannot see from the ground. Beaches, mountains, valleys, waterfalls, rainbows, and the lush greenery that is Kauai. We had a little bit of rain on the trip (it's probably always raining somewhere on Kauai at any given time) and some low lying cloud, but mostly had one breathtaking view after another. Our pilot Brad was very good. This was our second trip with Blue Hawaiian (we flew with them on another island as well) and we love their Eurocopter Eco-Star helicopters.
If there's one thing you must do on Kauai it's this. The forty minute scenic flight around the garden island is truly spectacular with a bird's eye view of the rugged interior, waterfalls and untouched lushness taking away your breath at nearly every opportunity. Our pilot was highly informative and the scenery was absolutely extraordinary. My partner and I were both totally blown away by the experience and couldn't recommend it enough.
We had the most amazing experience last week! Nathan was our pilot, and not only was he an excellent pilot, but very knowledgeable as well. I was so nervous initially, but the ride was smooth and I loved the music that came through the headphones. The scenery was majestic and we even saw a 360 degree rainbow! To think I almost missed out by being afraid. We loved it and highly recommend them!
