This flight was amazing. Incredible scenery and our pilot Eric also knew so much about the area and the history of the island. This is definitely a flight and experience to remember. The volcanos are exciting and the waterfalls are so beautiful. The ground staff are also great. Thanks you for an outstanding experience. Mahalos!!
Very impressed with the tour. Ethan was a great guide. Thanks very much
Awesome flying. Fair to all in whatever seats. Obviously I had a camera and wanted a window but it seemed like he made a genuine effort to expose all passengers to the sights. Greg(?)seemed to be a very smoth pilot and wish I could go all day. Aloha
by far the best experience of our vacation. One of the top highlights ever. thank you
Amazing experience! Was a bit afraid in the beginning but it all went so smooth and nicely and the views were spectacular! Kind and professional staff, would recommend to anyone!
My first helicopter time! Amazing views of clouds, sky, complete double rainbows, lava flowing to the sea and steam, rain, waterfalls, and dramatic music during the trip. Everything in 1 hour
A great way to see Kauai. If you don't do much hiking or biking, do this for sure. You will see sights on the island that you will never see because you can't hike or drive to them. This company is the best on the islands. Be sure to wear dark clothes to lesson the glare. They sell cheap black t shirts which came in handy. Great pilot-tour guide and friendly people who work there. Enjoy!
Taking a Helicopter tour is a once in a lifetime experience everyone should do! The girls at the front desk/check in were rude and condescending, but don't let that taint your view of the company. Francesca was so sweet and helpful in getting us on and off the helicopter. My pilot was Greg! And he couldn't have been any nicer! He was gentle, and informative. We also saw about 12 whales that he took us right up over. Throughout the tour, he would make sure both sides of the helicopter got to see things from their side/windows. We got to see the hot lava flow right into the ocean! Next time your on the big island, be sure to use Blue Hawaiian!!
Jason was our pilot and seemed to handle the helicopter well, however he was not much for talking and leaned toward sarcasm. I asked him about the lava tour boats, and he told me he didn't know, he wasn't in charge of boats. We had been hearing a lot on the local news about permits and rough rides and boat collisions for two weeks. The ride was mostly over water and we did not learn anything much of interest about the villages, flora, history of the countryside, or recommendations about where to go or what to do. He told us to ask questions but answered very briefly. He was abrupt with the kids and suggested we talk amongst ourselves if we wanted. Really? The cabin was extremely warm, and while we did get to see the lava from the tube flow into the water, he said the clouds prevented him from flying closer to the caldron, and he told us it was illegal to fly over the waterfalls, but our friends in another copter were flown over a couple of falls. I was not impressed. For so much money he could have one so much better.
Our family had never been in a helicopter so we splurged on this trip. We had an excellent woman pilot who was very safe. She took us to the Napili coast where we saw humpback whales in the ocean (February). She was very knowledgable and gave us a lot of history and information. We had 2 way headsets on to communicate with her. We also flew into a dormant volcano and through the Waimea Canyon. Beautiful! After, they offer a video to buy of your trip. You can also take your own pictures and they will take one for you with your camera and the helicopter. $250 each plus there are envelopes for tips and comments after your trip. My only complaint is that I don't think the trip lasted the advertised 50-55 minutes unless you include the training on land.
Amazing!!! Experience of a lifetime! Jack even found a whale for us!:)
It was awesome, the pilot was entertaining and informative, the staff were helpful and the entire experience was very very cool.
Just Awesome what a view great comentary
My wife and I are quite fortunate - having traveled all over the USA, the world and even lived overseas twice due to my employment. We have had many truly amazing experiences. Me - I love adventure and have flown in helicopters numerous times (for work in the Oil/Gas industry offshore and for pleasure). This trip over Kaua'i runs very high on my list (up there with dogsledding in Finland, motorcycling from DFW to Seattle and experiencing the Aurora Borealis outside Fairbanks, Alaska). Okay. Enough background. Why should you take this trip? If you also love adventure and/or simply want to experience the incredible natural beauty of Kaua'i with soothing, appropriate music and narrative thrown in, this hour is well worth the high cost. I am a large man (6 feet, five inches and 300+ pounds) which meant that I had to pay about a 50% premium for a a "comfort seat" (vacant adjacent seat). Blue Hawaiian flies the Echostar (considered by many to be the best touring helicopter) which means there are two passenger seat in front beside the pilot and four on an elevated level in rear. Turns out my wife and I both had window seats in rear with nobody in the middle two seats. All seats do have great views though. All passengers wear headsets for noise suppression and to hear the pilot and other passengers, Shared microphones allow the passengers and pilot to all communicate (when safe flying operations permit). Our pilot was Brodi - buddy - can I arm wrestle for your career? This man is born of Hawaiian mother (Oahu) but grew up on Kaua'i. His local knowledge and delivery are truly impeccable. Ask for him by name. He is a true "gem". Safe, Informative and entertaining. And his selection of Hawaiian music (including Iz) and Jurassic Park made the trip more enjoyable. The incredible natural beauty of the Napali Coast, Waimea Canyon, Mount Maualeale and others that I simply cannot recall, province or spell (LOL) are truly beyond words. Go experience it yeeself. One final point - I spent two hours researching 5-6 helicopter operators on Kaua'i (Jack Harter, Safari, Sunshine, ...) including safety stats, aircraft flown, costs, duration and other factors. I would encourage you to do the same. I concluded that Blue Hawaiian was the best fit for us and I have absolutely no regrets,. We also purchased both the personalized DVD of our specific flight and a generic Blue Hawaiian DVD from BH flights on Kauai, Oahu, Hawaii and Maui. Brodi - thank you sir. Keep doing what you were meant to do. Help folks like us to enjoy this incredible place called Kaua'i. Mahalo. Aloha.
Brian was an excellent pilot and guide. Fantastic tour of Kauai. Beautiful!
