Our guide Rick was amazing. The cloud cover actually worked out great. The sky was dynamic. The waterfalls were in full glory due to the clouds/rain. This is our 3rd Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour. I will be bringing my son back to Maui in December and we will definitely be doing this tour again! Thank you!

This is a must do for first time island visitors! You'll get a bird's eye view of the fantastic terrain of this magnificent island. The choppers are spacious and well kept, and our pilot was extremely professional (22 years flying Chinooks for the USArmy!), and she was very knowledgeable about the island giving us a great overview. It is expensive, but it's worth the splurge. Thanks for the ride Kristi!!

Cold not ask for a better tour. If you get the chance, go for the tour that lands by the water fall. totally worth it. The view during the trip is second to none. Tom our pilot is one of the most skilled pilots I have ever flown with. He really knew what he was doing, and was full of intresting information about the trip and the Big island in general.

From the orientation to the quality of the pilot,Mark, it was a marvelous experience and one should take. We were lucky with the weather and the wind.

We went on the Big Island spectacular departing from Waikoloa heliport. Our pilot was Karl. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Beautiful view of active lava flow and beautiful waterfalls. A perfect way to see the island and see things that otherwise you would be able to see.

Seeing a 100 foot bright orange lava waterfall shoot into the ocean was an unreal experience that didn't feel quite real and still doesn't. Something you can only see on the Big Island! The rest of the experience was as I expected but not as generally dramatic as other flightseeing trips I have done (Grand Canyon, Mt. McKinley, Mt. Everest, Milford Sound). The passenger sitting next to me did their helicopter tour of Kauai and said the dramatic sea cliffs, waterfalls and Waimea Canyon was overall more breathtaking. A computer determines where each passenger sits. At 211 lbs, I was sitting in the back in one of the middle seats of the EcoStar and while it was more difficult to take as many photos as people next to a window it provided a perfectly fine experience to see everything I needed to see. The pilot took multiple passes of all the major sites on both sides of the helicopter. This was my first time in a helicopter. The pilot said it was an unusually calm day with very little wind and I fly a lot and don't easily get airsick, but started feeling a bit queasy. Do yourself a favor if at all worried and take a Dramamine.
