5 adults and a 9yo were equally impressed and entertained both by the volcano and Westley our pilot. His choice of music for each area of the flight was perfect for this music loving family. He was very knowledgeable and made you feel so safe as he flew ever so close to the active volcano caldera and lava streams. We were lucky to see so much as the week before had not been so plentiful whereas we had a definite abundance to see. Each of us had the opportunity for great views as he curled around in both directions and went over and over the caldera so that my amateur photographer husband got all the best shots. This is the stuff memories are made of and we were all so awe inspired and blown away by our experience. A must see if you can manage it. We were so glad we splurged on this tour as there hadn't been lava into the sea (our other option) for a while and may take another couple of weeks to reach. Spectacular scenery and so incredible to watch an island being made as well as trees bursting into flames as the lava stream touched them. I literally could go on forever.... It's just that good! Blue Hawaiian are a very professional company and we felt very safe at all times with their procedures and staff, particularly their pilots- we had done a trip in Kauai a couple of days earlier and both were awesome!

This tour was spectacular from start to finish, the pilot was very professional and knowledgable, the views were breath taking, absolutely no regrets!!!!!!!.

This was our first helicopter ride. All employees we encountered were awesome (Hilo airport). Our scheduled flight was cancelled due to rain but we were able to reschedule for the next day. (Tip: leave a day open in your schedule, just in case). We did the fire and water tour. Gregg was our pilot, he was pretty cool. I really liked the music he played during out flight spent a lot of time searching out the “hot spots”. We really liked the EcoStar, worth the extra cost. Felt very safe if you are worried about safety. We purchased the video (thumb drive) which allowed us to enjoy the trip and not have to worry about photos. My only complaint: the only waterfall we saw was Rainbow fallsl in Hilo (small waterfall). I expected to see more but maybe the weather was too bad, the pilot did not say anything.

Thanks to our pilot, Ethan, we were able to see lava bubbling in the crater. He also made numerous passes and turns allowing everyone in the aircraft opportunity for great pictures.

Our family was on our inaugural visit to Hawaii and our grown children purchased this flight for our 30th wedding anniversary. It was definitely the highlight of our trip! We were totally impressed with the Blue Hawaii Helicopter tour company. The building was immaculate. The staff was extremely well organized and professional. Safety instructions made us feel more confident. Never was in a helicopter before and I don't like heights but our pilot, Scott H, had just the right touch of humor and he did mention his extensive experience so that helped. Was completely enthralled with the scenery, music accompaniment, and Scott's enthusiastic narration of the sights. He did not show one iota of boredom or act like he'd done this a million times before. We could ask questions anytime and he was great with his explanations. We loved it so much we purchased the recording of the trip!

My 14 year old nieces were visiting Hawaii for the first time and I was intent on blowing their minds. The top of the list was to take a helicopter tour of the volcanoes on the Big Island that are inaccessible by car and dangerous to hike, so the helicopter was the logical choice. My wife and I had never taken a helicopter tour so it was a bonus for us as well. Blue Hawaiian has a wonderful reputation and they did not disappoint. They are clearly a very professional operation. Their equipment appears very well maintained, staff is friendly and the pilot was highly skilled and a great pilot. The ride was very smooth and the pilot was attentive to giving all passengers excellent views and camera angles of the sites we saw. My only complaints are that we were not informed until on the flight that we would not be able to fly over the Kilauea caldera due to flight restrictions imposed by the National Park Service. I did not ask a lot of details ahead of time about the route, so some of the blame for not knowing this is my fault. Also, the pilot, though an excellent pilot seemed a little confused or uninformed about some of the facts about Hawaii and the park. I think he was fairly new with the company. Overall, though I wouldn't let these small disappointments stop you from going. It was a great tour, very safe and comfortable and an overall memorable experience. Enjoy!

Captain Jason Trask, as well Captain Barrett are awesome flight instructors, and I simply loved my EC130B4 flight training. I just passed my EC130B4 check ride and now I am part of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Ohana (family).I will give my best to be part of the best Tour Company in the USA. So happy here. Words are not enough. I have flown over the Amazon Jungle, Offshore Oil Rig Platforms for so many years but nothing compares to natural wonders in Hawaii. What a paradise to be living and working. I feel blessed for this opportunity that just a few pilots had in their whole life. The BHH flight tour around Big Island is amazing, magnificent, spectacular and awe-inspiring. I loved the views of the Caldera, Pu'u 'O'o Vent, Lava Flow into the ocean at Kamokuna entry point, Waipio Valley, Waterfalls everywhere, which made me feel like the pilot in the movie " Jurassic Park" . I am a pilot but it took my breath away. I am feeling very blessed by Heavenly Father today. July, 19 2017.

We took four people on the two hour flight to see the volcanos and water falls! Shane was our pilot and he was a great guide and excellent pilot! He made sure that both side of the helicopter got to see all the wonderful sites! Definitely worth the cost and would recommend. The entire staging crew was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Can't wait to see the video of our flight!

We've been visiting the Big Island for over 40 years, making the drive to Hilo & the volcanoes via the Parker Ranch & the Hamakua coast numerous times. So different flying out of Waikoloa! So many waterfalls dropping into the sea from this approach. Enjoyed every minute.

We took a helicopter tour of the Kohala Coast with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and it was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island. There was a lot of vog in the air when we first took off but it added another dimension to our trip that we did not have when things cleared up later. Our spectacular flight took us over the "Shark Fins", by Waipio Valley and Pololu Valley and into Waimanu Valley with its numerous waterfalls, some of which plunge thousands of feet down the cliffs. We also flew along the cliffs by the shoreline . There were great views of the transitions from desert to green fields to rain forests to the steep walled cliffs of the valleys and the coastline and over a large cinder cone. We were able to get several great photos. I have wanted to do a flight like this after having seen many film/video segments of this coast from the air over a few decades now. The ride was very smooth and our pilot was a super guide, some times circling a view to ensure we got to see it from all angles. I definitely want to do this again on my next visit to the Big Island.

What a wonderful experience!! Our pilot Mark was awesome! He was kind, informative and professional! This is a great way to see the island!
