Blue Hawaiian never fails. Heard many reviews from guests and travelers and I had to try it out. Our pilot was funny and very knowledgeable. being up in the sky made me realize just how blessed I am to be living on this beautiful island. I love the staff. Very informative and very patient. Thank you blue Hawaiian!
There are ways to see Maui and then there are helicopter rides. Breathtaking scenery. Not a keen flier but we were offered the helicopter ride. Our nervousness was overcome by the professional nature of the team at Blue Hawaiian. 'Chase' was our pilot. Great guy and he made sure we were at ease. As I said if you want to REALLY see Maui then go for a helicopter ride.
Great staff, great tour. 5&7 year olds enjoyed it and no one felt sick. It was a smooth ride even on a windy day. Pilot was very patient and knowledgeable. The kids had a lot of questions, he found many rainbows and made sure to give everyone a view. Recommend west Maui and Molokai.
Born and raise on the island of Maui, I thought I knew much of the island and its history, until I took a flight with Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tour. What I didn't know is there is so much more to see and learn. I now know more of my family history, 1830s dates far back to my families genealogy where they came from and where we are today. It all made sense when I took my first flight over the entire Island of Maui, and what made it more amazing the pilot knew a lot about my family and he never met them! Anyway, I've seen where it all began, little remote area's where my family first anchored off the shores back in the 1800's, and how they survived all those years for us new generations who came later. As they traveled from place to place making new villages throughout Maui that still exist today. Self sustainable system, healthy and creative, God breathed wisdom and beauty now being discovered only by air. Thank you Blue Hawaiian, you've done well. Warmest of Aloha, Mapuana
A+ for value. Pilot was professional and had incredible local island knowledge about history of the land, animals, culture and really enjoyed his audio as we flew. Of course the sights were amazing as well. We did the complete island tour with the bonus landing on a beautiful piece of land near Haleakala. Overall we were very pleased. We did the newer Eco helicopter which I recommend for viewing and comfort.
we had such a great experience and awesome flight. The Eco Star was quiet and smooth and our pilot was informative and funny. The ground staff was equally as good, friendly and helpful. We felt safe the entire time. We highly recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours .
Our tour was cancelled because of rain so they offered a different tour. The tour we took instead for the same price rained over 3/4 the flight. Pictures all came out with waterspots. Our seats were behind pilot which has a good ocean view but nothing else. Pilot spun helicopter around 3 times so we could see what the others seen the entire time. I thought it would be 1/2 view each way but instead it was pretty much ocean view the entire time. Would not recommend helicopter tours on rainy forcast days. Pilot knowledge was great. The video we bought of our flight I turned off after 10 minutes because with the rain on video it wasn't worth watching. Overall disappointing flight.
This helicopter ride provides you with some of the most beautiful views of Maui! Our pilot was Justin and he was very knowledgable about the Island and its history. I would highly recommend this as a to do while you are here. We did get a little nauseous on the way back but it was totally worth it!
We had six of us on the Maui Spectacular tour and it was amazing. Glenda was our pilot and she was fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable about the island and points of interest. She played the BEST music to go along with the unbelievable tour she provided us.
This is an amazing way to see the island of Maui, with its rainforests and bamboo forests, rugged coastlines and beaches, mountains, canyons, valleys, lava tubes, towns, farms and more. On the day we went with Katie, our pilot, there were so many waterfalls we were guessing we saw more than one thousand! It was a bright sunny day, but the mountains were full of water from previous day's rain, and they were beautiful. The ride was smooth and felt very safe. Katie turned the copter to show guests in every seat the wonderful views, and narrated the tour to nice Hawaiian music playing quietly in the background. With only a day to see as much of Maui as we could (cruise ship stop), we really accomplished our goal with this trip. We had previously taken Blue Hawaiian's helicopter tour on Kauai, and we felt very secure in choosing this company. Their helicopters allow views from every window, and are very comfortable. We plan to return to both Kauai and Maui and will take the helicopter tours with Blue Hawaiian again. We can't get enough of the beautiful views!
Do not miss this helicopter tour. You see parts of Maui that you couldn't see otherwise. The pilot that few out helicopter was very good at pointing out all the landmarks from above and very nice. All the beautiful sights were breathtaking and I would do this again in a heartbeat.
We took a helicopter ride on one of their newer Eco helicopters. The ride was a total of two hours and included a stop in Hilo. They calculate everyone's weight and make sure it is distributed evenly so you really don't get to choose your seat. My husband was stuck in the back middle seat and I had the window. I thought it was great but he was not happy as you don't see as much sitting in that seat. After we stopped in Hilo, I asked if we could exchange seats so at least he got to see something, and we were allowed to do so. Unfortunately, the way back his view was mostly ocean until we started to head through the mountains. The pilot was fine, although I felt the couple in the front of the helicopter dominated the entire conversation throughout the trip, and he made no effort to move the conversation to the other passengers. Since you all have headphones you cannot turn off the conversation so we were stuck listening to how much the lady in the front wanted to learn to fly... Anyway, in fairness to the company, we did complain and were offered a discount in our fare. It would have been so nice to get those front seats but you don't want to jeopardize safety which I understand. I did think their safety precautions were exceptional though. Could have spent that money on a nice dinner. Once was enough.
We took a ride with Blue Hawaiin as the second part of a drive/fly road to Hana tour. See my review of Temptation Tours for the drive from the airport to Hana. In Hana we boarded the helicopter for a 35 minute flight back to the airport. Rick was our very qualified pilot and showed us parts of Maui that not everyone gets to see! If I am honest, I must admit that I was pretty scared, but the beauty that I saw made up for my worries! We saw a valley with at least five waterfalls that is often unreachable because of clouds; we looked DOWN onto a complete rainbow; and we peaked over the top of Haleakala into the crater. Don't be scared, enjoy the ride!
We arrived early, were checked in quickly (which does include getting on the scale, very discretely). We then had to see a safety video and then were lined up according to where we would be sitting on the helicopter. Our pilot (Gernot) did a great job making us all feel comfortable and relaxed. Most of the people on the trip had not been in a helicopter before but everyone felt at ease quickly. Gernot also made sure that he explained what we were seeing and made sure to turn the helicopter so that everyone had great views. All our questions were answered quickly and completely. After returning they offer to take your picture out in front of the helicopter (if you want it) before going back inside. Everything was very clean, everyone we had dealings with was very professional and took care of our needs quickly. We did purchase the video of our entire trip and it is great to watch and relive parts of trip over and over.
What a great way to see the volcano's crater without doing the cycling expedition. Our pilot took us to see the crater, Hana, George Harrison's estate, various waterfalls and to see the large rock formation that is prominent in the original "Jurassic Park". Our kids (ten) loved it too. No kids under seven are allowed. This is expensive but worth it.
