We took a helicopter ride in Maui 15 years ago on our honeymoon with Blue Hawaiian & just came back to do it again with our kids. It was incredible once again. The views are breathtaking & you see so much that you could never see on land. We did the full island tour. We saw several waterfalls, gorgeous valleys, cliffs, coastlines... We even got to play over a rainbow between cliffs. The pictures are amazing. This is another must-do on any trip to Maui.
We booked the 90 minute tour. Upon check in we were informed that due to poor weather, we would not be touring east Maui, but instead would be adding Molokai to the tour. The northern shore and sea cliffs are legendary and did not disappoint. Having lived on Kauai for eight years and having enjoyed dozens of helicopter tours, I did not have great expectations for the Maui tour. Boy was I wrong!!! The tour was amazing and incredibly memorable. As a resident of Maui, an air tour with Blue Hawaiian would be in my top three "must dos" for anyone visiting Maui. The staff was most helpful and our pilot Chase was exceptional. Very professional pilot and made everyone on the helicopter feel comfortable and welcome. Outstanding experience!!!
I took my Granddaughter with me for our helicopter experience. It was amazing! The views were awesome! We took the West Maui Rainforest, Falls and Molokai tour. Our pilot, Tim, gave us a bit of education while on our tour. The sights are something you can't see anyway but from up high. So happy we took the tour! We will remember this always.
There is no way to fully explain the beauty of this tour. They offer a DVD of your individual tour so make sure you do not pass that up. You will watch it over and over. The pilot was great and the places we went were just WOW from 2000 foot water falls to the grand canyon of the pacific. Even the water falls that was used on Fantasy Island
They say "do one thing a day that scares you." On June 27, that "thing" for me was this helicopter trip. And it was sooooo worth it. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was fantastic. We were a last minute booking, thanks to a snafu at another company. Blue Hawaiian got us on a flight within 30 minutes, and it couldn't have been better. The pilot had a great personality and was knowledgeable and entertaining. The helicopter was comfortable and spotless. Of course, the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend the tour for anyone and highly highly recommend Blue Hawaiian.
We did the Complete Island tour and it was fantastic. Gives you a great perspective of the island and how amazing it is. We toured over the sea, all major towns, saw incredible waterfalls and the top of the mountains. It was really good and you get a much better understanding and view of the island than you ever could driving. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters do a great job. The Eco helicopter is very quiet and visibility is excellent. It only takes 6 passengers with 2 up front and four in the back. Our tour guide Glenda was excellent - very knowledgeable and helpful and really nice. Wear dark clothes as it definitely does reflect if you are in light gear. Felt very safe flying with them. If you don’t have a car to drive there it’s OK. We took a taxi from Ka’anapali – took 45 minutes and cost $89. Our driver came back and collected us for the trip home.
A must to do a heli tour! The sea cliffs of Moloka'i were amazing. Katie was able to fly us right into the valleys so close to waterfalls. She was great. We have also done a Kauai tour in the past. Blue Hawaiian is top notch.
A helicopter ride is something that I had on my bucket list for many years & it became a reality. It will not disappoint you. If you've heard of majestic views there is no other than flying over Maui & Mokulele. Ryan was our pilot & he was very informative & friendly.
We took the full tour of Maui and highly recommend it. Our pilot Chris was awesome. He was friendly and knowledgable and he obviously enjoys his work. The views are incredible and so much more impressive live than on video. One thing--if you tend to get motion sick, it might be an issue but this is definitely not a thrill ride. The flight is as gentle as possible, no big swoops or dives. I get sick easily but made it through without having to use the "comfort bag."
We took this tour July2/16 and it was fantastic! The company is very professional with great safety review prior to flight. Our pilot was Glenda and she was friendly and informative. We could ask questions and take pictures but we also bought the video ($40). Our tour was 45 mins and it was breathtaking. Worth every penny!
I was scared to death to do this. I get motion sick. I thought I would get sick on this too. I have to say it was amazing. I didn;t get sick but I saw amazing sights. Waterfalls, mountain sides and the coastline was amazing. It is well worth it. I don[t think I will ever forget it. Take a chance!! DO IT
Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and FAA regulations require you to watch a brief safety video. You get ushered to the helicopter shortly after. The helicopter fits 6 plus the pilot. The back 4 is definitely cramped but not miserable. They sit you depending on body weight. We had Gernot as our pilot. He was fantastic. Loves his job and answered any questions we had. He was very informative and gave some history of what we were seeing the entire time. He made the hour journey very enjoyable. The hour trip takes you around the island and gives amazing views of the lava flows, canyons, and beaches. Just a spectacular and breathing taking experience. By far the best way to see the island quickly! Overall, I would definitely recommend Blue Hawaiian and we were very pleased. Disclaimer... This is NOT for people on a low budget as it is pricey per person.
Would definitely recommend an ecostar helicopter tour. The pilot guide, Rick, was great, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Unparalleled views of the coast, stunning waterfalls, haleakala, and hana highway, among others. Well worth the expense, especially on a honeymoon.
My family of three throughly enjoyed the Maui Spectacular tour. The trip was around 1.5 hours and included a brief landing at a remote ranch, with champagne served alongside the beautiful view. The pilot was very engaging and the scenery simply stunning, it felt like we were in the Jurasic Park movie! We travelled on the Eco helicopter and you could easily see from all seats.. There were 7 seats on our flight and we were all told where to sit, based on our weight( this is done discretely!) The company are very professional and the whole booking process very easy. You are not allowed to take any bags, including camera bags, on board and iPads and selfie sticks are also not permitted. They do have lockers, refreshments available and a vending machine. Your flight is recorded and can be purchased for around $40... Parking is chargeable at $7 and the machine does not give change but does accept cards.. Highly recommend!
This is a must do when visiting Hawaii. There are so many parts that you can only see by air that to really get a feel for the islands this lets you! We took our two teens for their first helicopter trip. They loved it. Our guide was friendly and knowledgable and made me feel safe at all times. It's not the cheapest excursion but a worthwhile one.
