The pilot was very informative and explained the tour excellently. We were under the impression that we would actually get closer to the water falls though and was a bit disappointed. Thank you!

Great tour! This was the seventh Blue Hawaiian tour we have been on and Rick was by far the best pilot! Landed on the side of the mountain with an amazing view.

When we decided that we wanted to do a helicopter tour, while on the BI, we looked into every outfit to make our decision. Blue Hawaii was the winner in our book. The day we went, we headed to the Hilo Airport and found the office,which is inside the airport area. There was a big group gathering there, so we knew that they were taking more helicopters up than just ours. We all met in a back room and watched a safety video,given a belly pack and then we were taken outside and divided up into four groups. They had also numbered each of us per group. That was to be our seating assignments that they do for weight distribution. Our group was the first to be taken to our helicopter. We lined up in front of the helicopter and each approached it when they called to us to climb in. Once on board, we met our pilot..got strapped in and put on our headphones. Before too long we were airborne. Once up, we started to get a tour of the area, as we moved ever so closer to the volcano. We spent a good amount of time looking down on the volcano and the area where the active flow is going in the ocean. This was the area we had hiked several days earlier, so it was pretty cool to see it from the air. After many passes over the volcano it'self, we headed back toward Hilo and circled some of the area's waterfalls. Beautiful indeed! Soon we were back safely on the ground. Although the flight did not bother either my husband or myself, there were others on board that did not seem to be feeling well. I would suggest that if you get airsickness at all, wear a patch. Special thanks to our great pilot, Patrick, who gave us a great tour! Everyone at Blue Hawaiian was wonderful and I suggest to everyone that if you are looking for a good outfit to take a helicopter tour with....go with Blue Hawaiian!
