The trip was absolutely amazing. My wife was scared to death of the ride until we took off. Hugo made us all feel comfortable throughout the flight. He provided great information about the wonderful sites we saw along the way. If you get lucky enough to have Hugo, you are sure to have a trip to remember.

Do it, don't think about the price, just do it. The weather gave us a hard time so we were there twice because we had to reschedule the first time. Very helpful and will not fly in bad conditions (i.e. poor visibility island wide or lightening). It was still raining pretty hard on the north side when we did go (as usual for the north side) so we didn't get to see that from the helicopter but we went to Jurassic Falls, Na Pali up to North side, canyon area. It was beautiful. First helicopter ride for me so I was a bit nervous but it was actually more stable and steady than some plane rides I have been on. No sickness.

We (self, husband and 14 year old daughter) took the big island spectacular tour with waterfall landing. Wonderful - we've all flown in helicopters before however the design of these with the larger glass viewing was fabulous. In the end it was a little long for us (over an hour) - BUT the pilot was informative and we did have a grand tour of the island. We would have preferred more time at the volcanic eruption site(s) and also where the lave tubes flow into the ocean and add to the island land mass - THAT was FASCINATING to see. As was the areas not destroyed by prior lava flows e.g chunks where roads and grass lived despite desolation around them. The waterfall landing was a welcome stop and lovely in it's own right. The playing of Jurrasic park music as landing really added to the atmosphere:-) HIGHLY recommended as you really do cover the entire island.
