Amazing ride! A dream comes true...what a wonderful island!

Again, another great tour that I am finally doing a review for!! My apologies for taking so long.  We flew in to Hilo and did the Hilo Circle of Fire and waterfall tour literally 45 minutes after landing.  We had plenty of time to get our rental car and put our luggage away.  we walked around and used the bathroom and then went back to prepare for the safety brief.  We booked through ITT for this as well since the Military rate is rather good!  There is a short video you watch, they hand out the safety vest, and walk you out to where you wait.  I didn't realize multiple helicopters take off at the same time so there were about 4 lines of people all on different helicopters.  Once it was time for us to walk out to the tarmac I realized there was only 1 A-Star helo and a few Eco-Star helos.  We paid for the A-Star but actually were put on the Eco Star, no complaints here!! It was actually the better helo for the tour because it is bucket style seats and bigger windows.  I was lucky enough to have a window seat and my husband was next to me in the middle.  Our pilot was very nice and did the tour telling us about houses that used to be standing where there is now old black lava.  We were lucky enough to see the lava as it was flowing like a faucet.  It was such an amazing sight to see and I am so glad we were able to do it!!  Our pilot turned the helicopter different ways so everyone could see.  Once we finished with that then we went to the crater to fly over and finally saw some waterfalls.  I had a fabulous time!! If you are able to book this tour while in Hilo I highly recommend it!

This was a truly wonderful and memorable tour of the Big Island made even better by our pilot Chase. He went out of his way to show us some "bonus" sights and they were spectacular. His choice of music on the flight to match what we were seeing made it all the more enjoyable. Imagine listening to the theme from Jurassic Park while hovering in front of a 2000 foot waterfall in a rain forest jungle! Fantastic! I judge a company on how well they take care of their customers and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is first class in my book in all respects; we will definitely book another tour with them when we return to the Island and may even do the same tour again!

My husband and I decided to do the 2hr tour with our kids (age 11 and 8). It was truly incredible. And expensive. In hindsight, as we are also spending a couple of days based in Hilo, I should have booked a 1 hour tour of the waterfalls and lava, out of Hilo. Though we (the parents) really enjoyed seeing the varied topography of the island in addition to the magnificent waterfalls and lava areas, our kids would have been happier doing a 1 hour trip instead. If you are only staying on the Kona side, I still think think it's worth the 2 hour flight to get the best overall experience.

I booked helicopter rides for 7 with blue Hawaiian in July 2017 coming from the cruise ship in HILO, BIG Island and Kaui, Hawaii In HILO, we were put on two different helicopters with party of 4 and party of 3. I requested to accommodate us all on one helicopter to ride together and Blue Hawaiian was able to accommodate us after the availability / cancellation of other bookings We took the Ecostar as it is bigger and more comfortable helicopter and we also had a friend who had never been on helicopter and was afraid to go on it. A bit more expensive but well worth it. Our Pilot was very good, humorous, very knowledgeable and fun to interact with. We had 5, 10 and 12 year old kids with us and they asked a lot of Qs and our Pilot was very good in interacting with kids and our whole party. We flew over HILO town, macadamia nut orchards, Kiluaea and saw lava from the mouth of volcano (what a site and life time experience), lava spewing out of the lava tubes in open and lava meeting the ocean. We flew over rainbow falls and several other waterfalls and Wailuku river state park. This was most definitely the highlight of our trip to BIG Island In Kauai, we were on two separate helicopters as helicopters there can only accommodate 6 passengers. Unfortunately, weather turned as soon as we took off. Our helicopter Pilot learned about the bad weather and keeping safety of the passengers in mind he returned us to base and we were refunded our money immediately. Our other party of 3 took off before us and had already passed when the bad weather moved in. They were on the helicopter with their most experienced pilot and pilot figured out a way to go around the weather and instead of going clockwise, he went counter clockwise and completed the tour for them safely. Another testament to the professionalism and safety first attitude. We loved our time spent with Blue Hawaiian and will recommend them and use their services again and look forward to going back to Kauai and retaking that helicopter ride

Chopa chopa chopa. Got the back seat but was still visible for the most part. Still paid full price. Overall it was awesome; our pilot was informative and funny with his little "here we are about to experience a little wiggle" comment. Dope ride except the retard in the front of us wore a white tshirt which reflects from the glass ruining some of our photos. O well, Aloha.

Greg was our pilot and gave us a very smooth ride and also provided a great amount of information on the areas that we viewed. Well worth the money and the entire experience was recorded (which we purchased). I highly recommend this tour!!

Brodi was absolutely amazing. He had great depth in his knowledge in the island and showed us how to respect and truly appreciate the land we are blessed with. Thank you Brodi.

Thanks so much to Blue Hawaiian! We saw a lot of the island (by land and sea) before the tour, but nothing compares to the view from the air-absolutely stunning! Our pilot Brian was excellent and made the experience very personal and provided a ton of history about the island. An absolute must!

Brian (Flyin Brian) made our experience absolutely amazing! We are here on our honeymoon and this was by far the best experience we could have asked for! We loved how he made it personal and told us his own story. Thank you so much for such an unforgettable time!!

Tour with Brian. Very impressive, and personal tour. Brian is passionate and a perfect pilot. One suggestion is to go through the Crater two times since that was the best part.
