Very smooth and relaxing ride. Ethan (our pilot) was a wealth of knowledge and a superb pilot. he took the time to explain about the volcano and the lava flows.

The helicopter was very stable and did not move in any uncomfortable ways. So if you are chicken you don't need to be! The views are so amazing you forget you are in a helicopter. The pilot was fabulous.

Wesley was our pilot and we couldn't have had a better one. He had a fantastic sense of humor that put everyone at ease. He gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions and was very informative. It was such a thrill to circle so close to the lava flows and crater to see the red molten lava bubbling. Wesley also flew us over gorgeous waterfalls, allowing us to snap photos. He even flew us over the ocean to see if we could spot a whale and we got to take photos of our cruise ship up close. This Blue Hawaiian Helicopter excursion was an experience we will never, EVER forget. I'm sure other pilots are great, as well, but if we ever get the chance to fly again... we'd chose Wesley again! He was great! BEST excursion EVER !!!

Scottie was a great pilot and tour guide! I tend to get carsick so I wasn't sure I I would enjoy it but it was breathtaking!! And I didn't get sick at all! Smooth sailing!

This was my first helicopter ride, and it did not disappoint! Our pilot, Paul, was friendly and knowledgeable. We took the one hour tour which brings you over the active Volcano and some waterfalls. We lucked out with our weather in Hilo! I recommend asking to be seated in the bubble - worth it.

Though I was nervous, it was surprisingly not scary. The flight was very smooth and we saw places that can only be seen from the air. Shay was informative and calming. If you get motion sick, you might want to take something first. We took the helicopter with doors (recommend for first time scaredy-cats like me) with individual seats. There are 7 people on the copter including the pilot and the views were amazing from all seats. The video of your entire flight is available for purchase for $41 if interested.

The 2 hour tour was fabulous. Our pilot, John, was humorous and gave us great information. Views of the volcano, coast line, waterfalls and valleys were phenomenal. Make sure to take Dramamine or similar as the turns will make your stomach flip flop. :)

We had the most amazing tour with the Blue Hawaiian helicopters! Our pilot was great, very informative and told us a lot of things about the lost cities, volcanos ? and other cultural insights. We felt very safe and we had some outstanding experiences such as flying over an active volcano looking right down the burning hole, we saw running lava and we even had time to see some waterfalls on our way back! Everyone who goes to the big island should experience this! ???

I had my travel agent book everything for me before I left for Hawaii. When we got to Blue Hawaiian Helicopters there was a little hassle with which voucher I paid for and what I should have on pickup but once that was sorted, the entire experience was great. The pilot/ guide had so much knowledge, kept us in the loop the entire time and just gave us an overall great experience! If you haven't seen Kona, best way to do it!
