Shane was a great pilot! We saw everything and more that we had dreamed of seeing. We took the Island Spectacular tour, it is very expensive but worth it.
Took the West Maui Mountains tour with my spouse and two teenagers. Wonderful tour with some breathtaking views! Our Pilot was informative and the helicopter (Eco-Star) was very comfortable. Had some audio issues with the SD card we purchased of our tour, which was completely our fault. Blue Hawaiian's Customer Service Rep was very helpful in resolving our issue. I would definitley book them again in the future. My only regret, I wish I had included Molokai when I booked.
This was one the most incredible experiences my wife and I ever had! Rick was awesome, and his knowledge of the island was fantastic. What a great time!
Me being afraid of heights and my wife being claustrophobic, we were a little nervous about taking a helicopter tour. We ended up choosing the Maui island tour in the eco-star helicopter. The eco-star ones are a little more expensive, but they have more room and better views which was good for my wife. Our original date for the tour was very cloudy so Blue Hawaiian called to offer us a different tour or different date. We decided to reschedule for 2 days later (luckily we did this early on during our time in Maui so we had time to reschedule). The tour itself was really cool. We got to see the different parts of the island from the air, including some hidden waterfalls and inside of Haleakala. The total trip was about an hour long and even though it was very smooth, we both got a lick motion sick towards the end. This was a fun trip that we would both do again.
I joined the blue helicopter in may with my family, including my parents, my wife and my son. We took the package Maui Spectacular, which costed us around USD 1,500. The tour took around 1 hour including a 20 mins stop at the slope of mountain. The overall impression was good. The view was very beautiful. The flying experience was comfortable and relaxing. However, I wondered whether it worth that much. USD 300 per head is not a small amount of money. And, the refreshment they stated on the website was only champagne, which was a little bit below my expectation.
We've taken the Blue Hawaiian tours of Maui (Hana/Haleakala), the Big Island (Spectacular) and Oahu and we've never been disappointed! We booked the Eco-Star every time. It's a bit pricier, but worth it. There's a great view no matter where you are seated, which is determined by the weight among the passengers. We've been seated in the back twice and were lucky enough to be seated up front on our tour of Oahu. Since my husband spent 13 months on planes during Viet Nam, he's very particular about who pilots his craft. He's always pleased with Blue Hawaiian's helicopter pilots. We're also thrilled with the narrative, because I lived on Oahu for 10 years and sometimes know more about Hawaii's history and landmarks than the pilots do. We know that we're in good hands with Blue Hawaiian in that regard, and the scenery that they show us on any given day is always based on the weather, which is the safest method of determination. We've chosen to purchase the DVD of each trip. It includes footage of the scenery and bits from inside the helicopter, so you can see yourself during the flight here and there, and is also accompanied by the music you hear during the flight. You also hear every word that is spoken into the microphones. We find that they are a wonderful memory, and, yes, we do watch them from time to time. I walk with a quad cane and must leave the cane in the office along with other personal belongings during the flight. It is not a problem for me to take my husband's hand out to the flight line, then be helped by someone else into the helicopter. If you have difficulty walking, call ahead or e-mail with any questions. They have always been most helpful and have made our trips very enjoyable. Tip: Book online! There are often discounts or free items for doing so.
Lots of fun! Great way to see a lot of the island in a short amount of time. Would highly recommend...also appreciated the military discount!
The flight was nice, the pilot very competent. they sell a package that is 1 hr, 50 min but shorted us .2 tenths of an hour flight time. i was told that this is their MO, so no one really gets what they are paying for. the other companys DO fly as long as they advertise.
We had an opportunity to take the flight over the west Maui mountains, Molokai & Lanai. The weather was a bit rainy but still able to get great views. Our pilot, Dan did a great job telling the history of the islands and was very personable. We bought both videos; our flight and a dvd of all the islands very professionally produced.
My family and I took a 45min ride over the west maui mountains and Molokai. It was a fantastic way to see these beautiful islands. Our Pilot was great and very informative. Definately worth every cent. Bought a dvd at the end which captured all the great views we saw plus some footage of us in the heli.
My two daughters (9 & 10) and myself booked the one hour complete island tour in the upgraded helicopter. It was absolutely worth every penny! We booked this for our 2nd day in Maui...It was great because we could see everything and noticed things that we definitely wanted to check out during our two week stay. Pilot was very knowledgeable and the DVD you can get is a great memento!
After doing tons of research on helicopter companies, I decided on Blue Hawiian and I'm glad I did. They were professional, on time, and knowledgeable. We did the short west Maui trip, but it was fun and exciting.
That was AWESOME! What an incredible staff, and the pilot Rick was so knowledgeable with the history and geography of the land! The ride was so much fun and the island was so beautiful, my jaw was dropped the entire ride! Great Job!
Our family of four flew on Blue Hawaiian Helicopters end July and we all had a great time. We have been on other helicopter tours in SF, Grand Canyon and NY which were nice but our pilot, Tim, was head and shoulders the most informative and engaging one we had ever come across. The tour was about 1.5 hours long and we saw valleys, waterfalls, ridges and the Haleakala slopes. Some of these scenes were magnificent and can only be experienced from the air. Overall, a spectacular tour and worth every cent.
Our pilot,"Emery, was the best. This was such a fantastic trip. I am so glad we decided to do it. The sights were beautiful and Emery was very informative. Thanks Bunches"
