Great way to see the island
Maui - Kahului

We took the West Maui Molokai tour. It was a great way to see the island and get a bit of a history lesson. We were on a cruise but booked direct and saved a lot. Eric was a great pilot and had a great play list for the tour. Our 3 year old took a very expensive nap. She loved it. The EcoStar is worth the extra because they have more room and larger rear windows. We ride in the front and the views were great.

All of Maui and Molokai
Maui - Kahului

Did a 2 hour Maui/Molokai tour. This is the only way to see the road to Hana, from the air! After seeing over 600 turns in the road from the air, we will pass on the drive. This was the highlight of our trip so far and the pilots make it sooo much fun with their dose of good humor. well worth the price.

Nice tour, I should have picked a different one though..
Maui - Kahului

We did the Maui/ Molokai trip yesterday. I chose this based on thinking we may drive to Hana and didn't want to repeat and we needed a shorter trip since we had our 5 yr old son. If I could redo, I would have done the Hana tour instead because even though our trip was beautiful, it was a lot over the ocean with nothing to see BTW, our son fell asleep within minutes due to the vibration and Dramamine! The risk all parents take with these tours, but he enjoyed what he did experience. Something to note if your kiddo falls asleep on the truck! :) As for service, it was easy to book, the folks were very friendly when checking in and the pilot knew the area well and was entertaining. These trips are always so expensive, I'm disappointed in myself for not doing the other, the risk of tours, only myself to blame on that one. Safety was apparent and felt safe for sure.

Excellent! Best experience on the island
Maui - Kahului

Blue Hawaiin met all of our expectations and then some! The flight was exactly as advertised and the view of the West Mountains and Molokai were amazing. Can't recommend Blue Hawaiin enough. We went with a tour on the Ecostar and didn't buy the video.

Spectacular trip! Great way to see Maui!
Maui - Kahului

What an incredible experience! Some pre-flight details... Blue Hawaiian will give you directions as to how to get to their location. Google maps also provides great directions. The helicopters are temperature-controlled so dress comfortably but wear dark clothing to minimize any window reflections. If your flight includes a landing at higher elevations, bring a sweater in case it's chilly. Hats are not allowed to be worn around the helicopters as they can fly up into the rotors and damage the aircraft. No purses or fanny packs. Cameras/recorders are fine. They do not allow iPads or other tablet PCs for use as photographic devices as they can impede the view of other passengers. Smartphones may be used as a camera, but will need to put it in airplane mode during the flight. A 24 hour notice is required for any change or cancellation by calling 1-800-745-2583 between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm Hawaii Standard Time. Tour times may vary according to wind and weather conditions. No scuba diving within 24 hrs. of departure. Parking at the Heliport is $2.00 per hour. They try to seat couples and families side-by-side as much as possible but cannot guarantee particular seating as it is often dictated by their FAA approved “weight and balance” program. Be prepared for questions about your height and weight. They will weigh you when you check in. From the moment you walk into the building to the moment you board your helicopter to the moment you leave, you know that Blue Hawaiian Helicopters have spared no expense to make your time there relaxing and enjoyable. The building itself is welcoming. There's an aquarium just as you enter the door and there's a beautiful garden area with water falls where you can sit and relax. Marketing is excellent with a wide variety of gifts to choose from. Don't forget to purchase a Blueray DVD of your trip for $25...much better than getting the SD card (which is not always easy to play on your home equipment). Staff are welcoming and wonderful and very professional. They all contributed to my husband's surprise for me when he decided to come along for the trip too. (Originally he was going to stay behind and wait for me.) We took the Complete Island Eco-Star tour with Rick as our pilot. Rick was great! Very knowledgeable, a terrific storyteller; a great pilot! He answered all of our questions and then some, taking us to some pretty special areas all over the island of Maui. Booking online gets you a discount. See: http://www.bluehawaiian.com/maui/tours/complete_island/ Complete Island (60-65 minute flight) The highlights of both East and West Maui are united in this unique aerial tour of the complete island of Maui. Explore deep, meandering valleys set in the rainforest of the ancient West Maui Mountains. Knife-edged ridges with mist-shrouded peaks separate the spectacular valleys that give Maui its nickname, "The Valley Isle." Waterfalls cascade down from towering cliffs into the streams running along the rainforest floor. Learn about the history and culture of the sights from your pilot, who is also a State of Hawaii Certified Tour Guide. Explore Haleakala Crater, Oheo Gulch, Hana Town, Hana rainforest and the rugged shoreline of Northeast Maui. What a trip! The Eco-Star is an awesome helicopter. It has a 23% increase in cabin space over the A-Star and affords significantly greater personal space for guests, along with improved visibility with over 65 square feet of glass for 180 degree unobstructed views. It also features raised rear seating and wrap-around glass cockpit, for significantly improved visibility from every seat. Blue Hawaiian provides each passenger with aviation-grade, BOSE electronic noise-canceling headsets. The result is incredible quiet—so you can totally enjoy the magnificent CD music accompanying the phenomenal sights you'll be seeing, along with your pilot's knowledgeable, informative narration. Each tour is recorded on a DVD. Four, 3CCD chip cameras are mounted in the helicopter, one in the nose, one on each side of the helicopter and one in the cockpit. The pilot selects the appropriate camera during the tour with a toggle switch mounted on the flight controls to capture the most interesting scene during the tour. Brief takes are made of passengers during the tour to capture expressions to what you are seeing. All music, pilot narration and the microphone communication between you and the pilot are recorded. The music is specially chosen to compliment the changing scenery. This DVD recording system is unique. Blue Hawaiian has continually upgraded their video system to incorporate the latest technologies and have invested over $700,000 in the development and implementation of this system fleet-wide. No other company can offer the quality of video recording available from Blue Hawaiian. The DVD is demonstrated at the end of the tour and passengers have the option to purchase it. Again, I highly recommend the DVD over the SD card. Be sure to fill out the guest review form before you leave. With Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, you will not be disappointed. They are Hawaii’s #1 helicopter tour company. Blue Hawaiian's aircraft maintenance technicians have received the FAA’s coveted “Certificate of Excellence, Diamond Award” every year since 1998. No other helicopter tour company in Hawaii has ever received this critical recognition. Blue Hawaiian was honored by the FAA for a record 12th straight year in January, 2009, at a ceremony in Honolulu, and the FAA further honored Blue Hawaiian with the very first “Certificate of Excellence, Platinum Award.” And Blue Hawaiian is the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii certified by the Department of Defense. Blue Hawaiian is the only helicopter tour company serving all four major Hawaiian islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. So, when you go with Blue, you go with the best, and you get the best. Enjoy your tour with Blue Hawaiian!! Mahalo to everyone at Blue Hawaiian Helicopters! You're the best! :)

I was scared to try this, but need not have worried
Maui - Kahului

My husband booked a tour from our cruise that included a drive on the road to Hana. Then we were picked up there by the helicopter, flown over the area of Hana, the crater, Lahina and back to the Airport. The copter was very clean and new looking, pilot skilled and had an informative talk for the flight. They played music thru the Bose headphones when he was not talking. They make a video that you can buy later on a DVD or on a chip. The copter holds six passangers and you are seated by weight to balance the craft. This is not an activity for the obese as they have a weight limit of 240 lbs.

West Maui and Molokai trip
Maui - Kahului

We had high hopes for this helicopter experience, but it exceeded expectations. We had all seven in our group in an Eco-star (which was surprisingly quiet and comfortable). Our pilot and guide was Glenda, who did a great job. The video is worth getting because the cameras mounted on the outside capture so much better than what you can get on your own camera from the inside and you also get the music, the narration, the questions asked and answered, as well as a few clips of those inside looking out. We did get great pictures and videos with our own camera, but seeing their video allows us to relive the trip quite completely. It was right at the top of everyone’s list of wonderful experiences in Hawaii and was one of the few specific activities, which all seven of us, ages 3-71, could do together. What a treat!

Exciting!
Maui - Kahului

The helo tour was great! The pilot was informative and friendly. The flight was unexpectedly smooth and the scenery terrific. Being able to have a personal dvd from our flight was an unexpected bonus. When we go back we WILL do it again.

Best Ever Helicopter Ride!
Maui - Kahului

Fabulous, professional, excellent experience throughout. Eric our pilot was brilliant! I've experienced the Big Island with Blue Hawaiian 10 years ago - it was fantastic - and am just as impressed with Maui helicopter flight. They video the experience for you so you can enjoy the ride. I've taken many helicopter flights and I believe these are the best. Thanks so much!

Amazing views & experience
Maui - Kahului

Am no longer surprised that helicopter tours are the number one thing to do in Maui. Views were breathtaking , even when the crater was a bit cloudy. Our pilot was very good, provided a lot of trivia and answered all of our questions. I was worried the ride would be choppy but it was generally very smooth. The video of the tour after can be purchased and for $25 was well worth it for the memories.

Excellent chopper ride.
Maui - Kahului

We had the pleasure of using `Blue Hawaiian Helicopters' in KONA, Big Island Hawaii, during X'mas 2013. Our pilot was Greg Fredericks. The entire tour, `big island tour' was spectacular. From the beginning to the end, Blue Hawaiian Helcopters crew were superb, professional and on time. I cannot say enough about our pilot, Greg, he was simply the best. Friendly, knowledgeable and funny. He kept our sons entertained throughout the flight. Thank you so much Greg, we will be sure to travel Blue Hawaiian in the other Hawaiian islands in future. DO IT!!! Recommend the West Maui & Moloka'i tour
Maui - Kahului

We read somewhere that 80% of Maui is accessible only by air, so a helicopter flip seemed to be the perfect Christmas gift to ourselves! We went on an early morning flight in the Eco-Star and it was truly amazing. Moloka'i with its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls is even more jaw-droppingly beautiful then you imagine it to be....We felt extremely safe as we zipped over the lips of several volcanic craters / calderas, past rainbows and past sights we would never have seen otherwise. The pilot was cool and knowledgeable, and we'd definitely recommend using this company. IMPORTANT: The Eco-Star has two rows of seats with four seats in each row (including the pilot's). You get to see all the sights even from the two middle seats in the back row, but the window seats are definitely better especially for taking photo's. Ask for a seat in the front row and, if possible, the emergency exit front row seat as it has the best view (both out the front and side window). The people on our tour who had requested the front row seats in advance were given preference (although they supposedly calculate the seating based randomly on weight distribution) so that would be a good tip to remember. The front middle seat beside the pilot has a good view but you likely won't sit next to your partner if you are travelling as a couple.

West Maui and Molokai heli tour with Blue Hawaiian
Maui - Kahului

We were scheduled for 9:30 am tour, told to check in by 9:15, at check in we were told our helicopter that we were to go on had A/C problems and our flight tour was cancelled. But all Ok in end, Drew the manager at Blue Hawaiian was able to reschedule us, actually created a new not on schedule flight at 4:30 as all other flights were sold out and we were leaving next day. Our pilot was Justin , a young, personable and knowledgable tour guide gave an Awesome tour of the West Maui and Molokai Island. Drew the manager also threw in the DVD of our personal tour and the Hawaii bluray as a goodwill gesture for inconvience of rescheduled tour. Customer Service at its best! Highly recommend Blue Hawaiian/Hawaii Helicopters for any tour, would use them in future again.

Well worth the money
Maui - Kahului

We took the west Maui flight and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The helos are as comfortable as hellos can be and the headphones cut out all the noise. It was a great day for flying and there is certainly plenty to see. The commentary by the pilot lacked enthusiasm and was delivered in a detached and slightly bored style which became annoying.Overall, we came to see not to listen and loved the experience.
