My wife and I took the Hana/Haleakala tour on their ECO-Star helicopter, and the conditions were bright and clear for our tour. This was the most expensive thing we did on Maui ($260/person for the 50 minute tour), and while it was very enjoyable, if I had it to do over again I would at least do things differently. The biggest thing I was looking for on the tour was to see waterfalls that would otherwise not be accessible. I knew the waterfalls were less active in October, but I was surprised by how little we saw on the trip, maybe only 4 or 5 falls on the tour. This is no fault of Blue Hawaiian, but I would only do this again in the spring when the falls are more active. My other recommendation is to take a tour of an area you don't plan to see from the ground. We had been to Haleakala for sunrise two days earlier, then stayed to hike around afterward, and two days later we drove the road to Hana. I wish we had taken a different tour, maybe the West Maui/Molokai since we did not visit either of those areas. I think I would have felt better about the expense if I was seeing something new. All that said, we had absolutely no complaints about the tour itself. The ECO-Star is all windows everywhere, and even from my seat in the middle of the back row, I had no problems seeing everything. Our pilot Eric was very professional, gave us a smooth ride, and gave good information during the trip. You can ask questions throughout the flight through a microphone and headphones that everyone has access to. You can also purchase a DVD of your flight ($25) that shows what you saw, and includes all the conversation during the flight. I recommend this, as we saw a couple of things on the video that we didn't remember seeing live.

Ok, you look at the price list and say to yourself "but is it worth it?" - the answer is unequivocally YES. There is no better way to tour the coastline, valleys and hidden waterfalls. I saw things that we would not have seen regardless of how long we stayed in Hawaii. This is a well managed operation and you sense this in the comfort you deel from the minute to get there to the minute you leave. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you have any apprehension of flying it disappears the minute you realize how smooth and controlled these professional pilots manage the flight. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I booked the Maui Spectacular Tour in the Eco-Star helicopter. It was money well spent! We decided that an air tour would be preferable to driving on the road to Hana and not being able to appreciate the variety of climates and views that Maui has to offer. The tour was divided into two sections to allow the pilot, Anna, to land on the Maui Cattle Company property and serve us a glass of "bubbly". In 1 1/2 hours we circled the island, ventured into valleys to view waterfalls, flew over volcanoes to admire the craters, saw lava fields and were able to admire the gorgeous ocean features of the Maui coast. Our pilot was excellent and her commentary was thoughtful. We were very impressed with the entire organisation. An experience not to be missed!

I did hestitate when i saw the cost involved to do 'The Circle' 1 hour flight!! plus cost of getting there from Lahaina ($130 round trip for the 2 of us - 45 minutes each way) We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and my 50th and thought what the hell, just do it and enjoy it. And we both admit it was the highlight of our trip to Maui, it was brilliant!!!. We had Tim as our pilot and he was sooo good and professional, it was our first helicopter ride ever. There was only 4 of us in the helicopter and my husband and i got to sit in front with Tim, he was so informative with the history and culture of the Island, we got to stop at the Cattle Station atop a hill for a bottle of champayne and a chat. Seeing the majestic moutains and the other islands (Molokai & Lanai) and the waterfalls, springs and some parts barren and other covered in rainforests. We were very lucky to see the beginning of the whale migration (mother and calf swimming in the bay) Our flight went all over the Island and took 1 hour and a half hours, we were unable to really view the Halakaela Crater due to low clouds, but it was a very informative ride. We purchased our trip captured on DVD for $25.00.

What a wonderful way to see the island! There are not many roads in Kauai island so this is the best way to enjoy the view of the beautiful island. Our pilot was Nathan. Great pilot and very informative tour guide. We felt very safe when he gave us a brief introduction of himself! He showed us many beautiful water falls, hidden canyons and cost lines... things we only can see from the sky. I hope everybody can have this amazing experience ;) Also their ground crew were wonderful, too. They were very professional and friendly at the same time.

A truly amazing trip, great, helpful and friendly staff and the views were truly magical, we wend of the west mountain and across to Molokai and we were able to purchase dvd's afterwards of our actual flight, we will defiantly be back to try your other destinations. Worth the cost.

As a Vietnam vet I loved being in a chopper again and listening to music of that era. I finally got my wife up into a helicopter. We had an awesome time. Thank you Emery (our pilot) and the rest of the crew for a dream come true. We will remember this trip for the rest of our lives! Bill and Bev

We did the spectacular West Maui/Molokai helicopter tour. It was incredible! The pilot was friendly and knowledgeable with superb flying skills. This is the only way to see the gorgeous mountains of west Maui where the opening scenes of Jurassic Park were filmed. The story of the leper's landing on Molokai was heartbreaking. If you only take one helicopter trip in Hawaii, this is the one.

Our family did a lap of Oahu on a rainy day but it was still fantastic. Our pilot, Jonathon was very informative and pleasant. Although it isn't cheap it is a great perspective and a wonderful memory. The chopper was very comfortable and stable.

Great tour with a very experienced pilot.. Very knowledgable about the island and took us in nice and close to the sites. From waterfalls, cliffs and whales, we saw it all. I recommend the larger Eco star helicopter, it has much more viewable window area. The combo trip we took I hear is a favorite and I would have to agree. A great time!

WOW! This was a spectacular tour. A helicopter pilot for the Army for 20 years, and now the pilot and guide for this tour, Jonathan was fabulous! Very knowledgeable of the area and great at spotting whales:). Highly recommend...a 10+!

Very exciting to see Maui from the sky! If you have never been in a helicopter before, it definitely is an experience. Our guide knew lots about the island and had some really interesting information about different areas and the history.

There is nothing I disliked, I did it years ago and wondered why do it again? Well now we will do it over and over the staff is awesome. Hawaiian helicopters is a division of blue hawaiian I understand. Glenda our pilot is so knowledgeable and smooth and mary and kye in the terminal were amazing and Andrew made us feel so safe ,,,,all I can say is JUST do it

WOW! what an adventure. I am so glad we did this tour.. we learned a lot about the island and took in the beauty of Hawaii from a different perspective.

And helicopter. Many Maui features are only seen by air. The stop in the middle of the flight was nice for taking pictures. I always do a helicopter trip when available and have done 2 with Blue Hawaiian, both of which were very good. Pilot..Anna, nice job with the tour.
