Simply Awesome, worth the money
Maui - Kahului

We had a great trip viewing north Maui and Molokai. The pilot is also a licensed travel guide and gave us some really great information on the Hawaiian islands. The only downside was our trip was supposed to be recorded and for some reason the camera recording equipment failed, but they gave us a complimentary copy of their entire video library of all the islands. At least I had my own pictures and video's. We also saw the whales playing and some manta ray's soaking up some sun so lots to see and you would never believe the height of the cliffs and water falls you see that are not accessible by any other form. Highly recommend spending the money on this adventure. Nice eco copters too. They do have lockers to store purses or backpacks. You can only take a camera onboard. 5 minutes from the car rental places.

A trip well worth taking
Maui - Kahului

We thoroughly enjoyed our Circle Island tour of Maui. Mike was a terrific pilot and a great tour guide as well, providing lots of interesting information about the island. The views from the air were awesome. My only disappointment was that the large waterfall in West Maui didn't have much water (no recent rains) but that wasn't the Blue Hawaiian fault. The helicopter was very comfortable, and safety briefing was thorough. All in all, well worth the expense.

Helicopter Tour
Maui - Kahului

There is always pros and cons with helicopter tours. Price is a con and this company is expensive but worth it. We flew inter-island in the morning and it was beautiful. The best part of our tour was the pilot, Chris. Vast experience, honest, humble and friendly. He made this bucket list trip the best. Thank you Chris. I would ask to fly with him and him only.

Amazing. Views you could only get from a helicopter.
Maui - Kahului

My girlfriend surprised me with this trip as a birthday present and I have to say that this was one of the best and coolest presents I've ever received. The tour was supposed to be for an hour and a half but ended up taking closer to 2 hours so that's a plus! Our pilot Tim was great! He knew his stuff and provided us with a lot of information about the island and the history of the Hawaiian people on Maui. We went through multiple valleys, flew over the ocean to look at whales (we saw multiple), saw multiple beaches and flew over Haleakala crater. It was so neat to be above the clouds looking at Mars (the top of Haleakala) on one side and seeing the Big Island to the other side. We took a ton of pictures and videos and most turned out great but some had some glare from the windows. They have cameras in the cab and on the outside which take a video the whole time and you can purchase this video for $40 on blu-ray or flash drive. The coolest thing about this trip was stopping on a hilltop in south Maui to get out and enjoy the view as well as a glass of locally made pineapple wine. Cons of this are the cost (luckily for me it was a gift) and that are trip was delayed a half hour. However, they did make up for this by giving us some extra time on the tour. If you can afford it make this a must on your next Maui trip.

2 rides- maui and kauai
Maui - Kahului

we had rick in maui and brad in kauai, both were 5 star experiences, i was pretty scared while my wife wasn't, and in the end i wished it lasted longer, so smooth and comfortable. saw plenty of whales from maui to molokai, was beautiful. kauai was incredible to view- napali coast and waimea canyon, truly unique, blue hawaiian looks so much better than the other helicopters-loved it and felt extremely safe. rick and brad were equally impressive !

Not an EC190 but a great tour!
Maui - Kahului

We took the flight back from Hana as part of our tour. The helicopter was good although didn't have the full clear canopy but still very good vision. We flew up to the volano, past astonishing waterfalls and really lovely rainforest and could see for miles! Great and very professional pilot and a lovely flight. I think we would rate this as one of the best trips ever!

Do this at the beginning of your trip!!
Maui - Kahului

We booked our Hana/Haleakala trip for the middle of our trip. Due to cloud cover our flight had to be diverted to the west side of Maui and Moloki. I'm not certain how frequently this occurs during the winter months and of course, beyond the control of Blue Hawaiian. They offered a refund or the option to change the date but we already had the rest of our plans in place for the remainder of our trip. We really wanted to do the flight so we didn't want to refund. Moloki was cool but it took about 20 minutes of our flight time roubd trip to get across the ocean. It would have been nice if they had to divert flights to add a bit of time in the air so we could have more time seeing more waterfalls on Moloki and not just an open ocean. All in all, the views were spectacular and worth it. Again, the only recommendation is to book early on so if there are diversions you have some flexibility to do the tour you paid for.

Not worth it for the cost
Maui - Kahului

$275 each for 45-50 minute ExoStar ride (1/3 time over ocean, not Maui) ultimately did not seem worth it to us. Yes it was a one-of-a-kind unique view of the beautiful west Maui mountains and the Molokai cliffs, but the pilot did very little "narration" of the sights and overall it seemed very impersonal and methodical. You can pay an extra $40 for a copy of your trip on USB or Blu-ray Disc, which is a unique option, but again, overpriced. The company was professional and we felt safe, for the record.

With Eric as my pilot I would fly here again and again
Maui - Kahului

Today my son and I flew around Maui for his late (or early) birthday present. Expecting the usual views and commentary, instead Eric was our pilot and gave an informative and educational survey of the island mixing in history, meteorology, geology, aviation, physics, maybe some cooking, marine biology, anthropology, and ecology (forest type). All with dry and enjoyable wit. This is the ONE helicopter tour I would take again. Bring your camera and video, he helps set up your aerial photo shoot. Go early as others have said as we had to delay our flight due to rain.

Go if you can!
Maui - Kahului

I went years ago and it was one of the most memorable vacation moments of my life. You can't beat the views of the mountains, waterfalls, and rest of the island, and our pilot was also entertaining. A trip I will never forget!

Oh yeah!
Maui - Kahului

While in Maui we splurged and took a heli tour of the island with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. It was awesome. It was our first heli tour ever and it was so way cool!!!!!! Blue Hawaiian were professional, organized, and 100 % safety oriented. We loved it so much we have taken 3 more. We took Blue Hawaiian over Kaui and Liberty Helicopters over New York City and took a tour over St Augustin in Florida. There are several more holiday destinations we intend to 'heli tour' and it is all because of that first tour we took with Blue Hawaiian. We intend to return to the islands and when we do Blue Hawaiian will be our heli tour of choice.

Saved the best for last!
Maui - Kahului

We were staying on the West side of Maui, so we lined up the helicopter ride for our last day when we would be headed back to the airport. Obviously the helicopter ride was awesome, but Rick made the flight even better. He was very knowledgeable and personable.

What a Ride!
Maui - Kahului

We booked a ride on Blue Hawaiian the first day we arrived on Maui. Out concierge told us that the seats fill up fast. The weather forecast for the week wasn't great, but we got three seats (me, wife, friend) for the one hour full Maui island tour and were joined by two other vacationers. We chose to fly on the more expensive Eco-Star, which touted larger and more comfortable seats as well as 30% more viewing area. The afternoon of our trip was very windy (30+ mph), but the ride still went on. Make sure to allow enough time to get there as the heliport is right next to the airport. Our pilot's names was Glenda, a 23-year chopper pilot veteran/ 8 yrs on Maui, and she was amazing. She knew a ton about the island, but more importantly, was very calming to a friend that's a bit claustrophobic. Glenda took us all round the island from Kapalua to Hana, from desert to rainforest to the top of the Haleakala volcano. Aside from a few bouts of turbulence (3-4 in the entire hour), the ride was very smooth. We has a blast! We're glad we opted for the more expensive Eco-Star chopper, it was a very comfortable ride and you definitely want to see as much as you can while you're there. It's a pretty expensive, but a helicopter ride was on my bucket list and there is no better place to do it than Maui.

one of our favorite parts of our trip
Maui - Kahului

When I knew we were going to Maui everyone said go on a helicopter ride when you are in Maui. So I checked on TripAdvisor and Blue Hawaiian had the best reviews . It is definitely worth the extra money to do the Eco-Star helecopter. It is bigger and quieter than the other helicopter . We did the West Maui and Molokai. It was breathtaking and very smooth ride. The pilot was safe and professional we paid extra and purchased the DVD which shows everyone in the helicopter. Great quality DVD. Next time I think we will do the whole island because we stayed at the Fairmount Kea Lani and our tour didn't take us by there which would have been fun to see where we were staying. I would recommend doing this at the end of your trip so you can see where you visited by air. Also you get a discount if you book online a certain amount of days from the helecopter ride.

Great experience!
Maui - Kahului

We thoroughly enjoyed our 45-minute helicopter ride. Blue Hawaiian is very professional and safety minded. Greg did a great job of telling us about the volcano, then took us over some beautiful waterfalls, then out over the water to see Humpback whales! Be sure to wear dark clothing per their website, but be aware that skin counts, too! I wore black shorts, but my legs and arms reflected in the window when I was taking pictures!
